Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 128 Let’s keep playing
If you like our rides, you’re welcome to come back tomorrow!
The person in the green vest returned the tourist’s belongings that they had left aside for safekeeping.
The tourist took the item, a hint of regret on his face. "Ah, what a pity. If only I could play this whack-a-mole game all day long."
The smile on the young man in the green vest remained unchanged. "Oh, we just hope that all the tourists can enjoy more of the activities."
"Okay, okay, then can I just watch from the sidelines?"
"Of course you can."
The tourist stayed behind and stood aside watching the little green vest guide another tourist up.
Once everyone was present, the guy in the green vest shouted "Start the game!"
This time, Lin Yun and Song Xizheng were not distracted again, and they seriously used the hammer to hit each of the groundhog children.
"Ouch, sister, it hurts so much!"
"You stinky sister, I’m going to eat your arm tonight!"
"Waaah, my brain’s gone mad, I can’t come here again tomorrow."
"These tourists are so fast! It’s so annoying."
...
Compared to the seriousness of the two people next to her, Zhao Weiwei, who filled the gap, was frightened. She saw what the other two had smashed. Wasn’t that a child?
They were playing whack-a-mole, weren’t they? Why were they hitting a child? And his brains were splattered out.
She stood there dumbfounded, holding the hammer, terrified by what was happening around her.
Just then, a child popped out of the hole and tugged at Zhao Weiwei’s trouser leg. "Hehe~ Sister, why aren’t you hitting me? I know you wouldn’t smash my head like they did, right?"
"Wow, you’re the best, sister! You must not follow their example!"
The child smiled and left a message before disappearing back into the hole.
"Hey! What are you standing there for? Smash it! It feels so good to explode your head!"
It was the same tourist from before.
Lin Yun heard the voice again and glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. It seemed that this person was a survivor, just like them.
"Look at those two over there, they’ve already smashed so many whack-a-mole! Stop standing there! Start smashing them!"
The tourist shouted excitedly, wishing he could go up and take Zhao Weiwei down so he could use her spot to go up and play.
Zhao Weiwei was startled by the other party and didn’t know what to do for a moment, so she had no choice but to raise the hammer and smash it at the groundhog child.
When she saw the numbers on the counter ahead, she seemed to know something.
Three minutes passed quickly, and both of them reached 1000 points, successfully fulfilling the requirements to pass the level.
Looking at the score on the counter, Song Xizheng breathed a sigh of relief. In fact, he had just let several mole kids go and was almost short of the required score.
He barely scraped by, 1010 points.
He glanced at the counter in front of Lin Yun: 1120 points.
Both of them had enough points.
After the green vests pressed the button, the dirt on their bodies instantly disappeared.
The guy in the green vest looked at them and said with a smile, "You two did very well. I didn’t expect you to reach the score on your second try."
"Just between you and me, some tourists have to play several times to reach the required score."
"Come out quickly, you can get your little red flowers!"
Without hesitation, Lin Yun stepped across the cave entrance and walked out, returning the hammer to the green vest.
As the boy in the green vest pulled out his little notebook and started putting little red flowers on their cards, Lin Yun suddenly spoke up again.
"Handsome, I’m actually a little curious. What should you do if you can’t reach the required score?"
The boy in the green vest was pleased by her compliment, calling him a "handsome little guy," and immediately answered her question.
"It’s simple. Just keep playing here until your score reaches 1000 points."
"Huh? So you can’t even stop playing?" Song Xizheng blurted out.
The green-vested girl glanced at him, her smile deepening. "Of course not. Since you’ve chosen a ride, you have to complete it before you can leave. Otherwise, what’s the point of riding a ride, right?"
The man in the green vest returned the cards to the two of them.
When he returned the card to Lin Yun, his gaze paused for a moment, but he quickly looked away.
"Alright, you two can go play other games now. If you enjoyed our whack-a-mole game, feel free to come back tomorrow!"
Lin Yun and Song Xizheng exchanged another glance, and then quickly left the place.
"An important piece of information: it seems that each ride can only be used once a day. Using it more than once might cause some problems."
Lin Yun’s voice was very low, but Song Xizheng still heard it.
He also sensed this from what the green vest said.
"I was originally planning to find some simple amusement park rides to rack up more attempts, but it turns out that this route is blocked by the amusement park."
Song Xizheng sighed. If even a simple whack-a-mole game was this strange and terrifying, he couldn’t imagine how difficult the other amusement park rides would be.
"It’s alright. This whack-a-mole game is relatively simple. Although it’s a bit bloody and scary, that’s about it." Lin Yun patted Song Xizheng on the shoulder again.
When the System announced the rules, she knew that this amusement park was probably not so simple.
"You’re right. Shall we do this again tomorrow? It’s simple and quick."
"Okay, but I think we should find out more about it later, just in case another rule comes up."
Lin Yun was truly frightened, sensing that hidden rules were everywhere.
Song Xizheng shuddered. He didn’t dare to think that if he had arrived late at the whack-a-mole game and still couldn’t reach the required score, he would have been stuck here forever.
That would be 10 PM by then...
The two stopped the conversation; they still had two more chances to play today.
[Attention, survivors.]
[Since the deployment time for this event is 12:00 noon, and the settlement time is also 12:00 noon, this point was not mentioned in the previous rules.]
There are a total of 3 play sessions over these two half-days. Survivors who do not wish to play today can save it for the morning of the 15th, and their hearts will not be deducted.
However, this applies only to these two specific time points.
"What do you mean? Did you use up all your chances today, and end up lying in a shelter on the last morning?"
"Of course, we’ll use up our chances today!" Song Xizheng said without hesitation.
Since he could stay in the shelter on the last morning, he naturally chose to finish the job today without hesitation.
"That’s what I think too."
The two immediately quickened their pace, looking for suitable activities to do.
Lin Yun did not answer immediately. The image of the children’s heads appearing from the holes was still fresh in her mind. What bothered her most was not simply how frightening the scene had been, but how naturally the amusement park treated it as an ordinary game. The staff member had smiled from beginning to end, while the tourists laughed and played as though nothing unusual had happened.
She quietly remembered every detail. The score requirement was 1000 points, the game lasted three minutes, and failing to reach the required score meant continuing to play. That last point was particularly dangerous. If someone entered without understanding the rules, they might think they could simply leave after the timer ended. Instead, they could be forced to remain until they succeeded.
The little red flowers were another reward, which meant that even a frightening attraction had something worth obtaining. However, Lin Yun was beginning to suspect that the rewards were not the only reason survivors were encouraged to play. Every attraction seemed to contain information that could only be discovered after experiencing it personally.
Song Xizheng clearly had similar thoughts. Although he had complained about the game, he had not suggested abandoning the remaining attempts. After all, they still needed to complete their daily requirements, and the safest approach was to understand the attractions while they had the opportunity.
Now the carousel was waiting nearby, looking bright and harmless.
That appearance alone made Lin Yun even more suspicious.
She no longer trusted harmless-looking rides here anymore.
"Sister Lin! How about the carousel? This is easy! I don’t believe there could be anything wrong with a carousel."
Song Xizheng pointed to the carousel on the left.
Lin Yun pursed her lips again, "Song Xizheng, I thought the same thing when we played whack-a-mole last time."
