Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 126 Little Red Flower Stickers
There were several ice cream carts in the amusement park, and Lin Yun and Song Xizheng agreed to meet near the ice cream cart closest to the pirate ship.
After leaving Mushroom House, Lin Yun followed the map and soon reached the area around the pirate ship. Mushroom House was tucked away in a corner, with fewer tourists passing by than in the central areas. Even the door looked somewhat dilapidated, making the shelter appear less inviting than the colorful attractions around it.
The entire area seemed to be designed for parent-child interaction. Fairy-tale decorations were everywhere, and Lin Yun could imagine how much children would enjoy staying here. The closest attractions were a family-friendly maze and a rock-climbing wall, both located not far from Mushroom House.
Lin Yun opened her personal panel and checked the map again. Countless tourists were moving around the amusement park. Of course, the panel and map were only visible to survivors, so ordinary tourists had no idea what she was looking at.
Following the map, Lin Yun noticed that there were many rides in the parent-child area. The pirate ship was just outside that zone. At that moment, it was packed with tourists. As the ship swung higher and higher, screams came from inside, rising and falling with its movement.
Lin Yun soon spotted the ice cream cart. She stopped nearby and waited for Song Xizheng while casually observing the staff.
The staff member wore a green vest. Beside the cart was a sign showing that little red flower stickers could be exchanged for ice cream.
Original flavor: 1 little red flower. Vanilla: 3 little red flowers. Lingtai: 3 little red flowers. Jade Finger: 2 little red flowers.
Lin Yun stared at the unfamiliar flavors.
What were Lingtai and Jade Finger?
Before she could think too much about it, a child approached the cart. The child had three little red flowers and happily exchanged them for a Lingtai ice cream.
The adult accompanying the child pointed toward the staff member. The child handed over one of the stickers. The staff member carefully peeled it from the card, returned the card with the remaining stickers, and then began making the ice cream.
A moment later, the staff member handed it to the child.
Lin Yun did not approach the cart immediately. She stood a little distance away, pretending to be interested in the surrounding decorations while paying attention to everything happening there. The staff member moved with familiarity, serving each customer without showing any unusual reaction. The tourists also behaved as though the strange flavors were completely normal. That was what made Lin Yun even more uneasy.
She had learned that the amusement park was full of rules that were not written down in obvious places. The System might provide the basic rules, but that did not mean it would explain every danger or every opportunity. Some information clearly had to be discovered by the survivors themselves.
The little red flower stickers were another example. At first glance, they looked almost ridiculous. They were tiny paper flowers, colorful and harmless. Yet people were using them to obtain food and other things inside the amusement park.
Lin Yun carefully memorized the prices on the sign.
One flower for the original flavor was understandable. Three for vanilla was more expensive, but still ordinary enough. The problem was the other two names.
Lingtai.
Jade Finger.
Neither name told her what kind of food she would receive.
She wondered whether the names referred to ingredients, recipes, or something else entirely. Since the amusement park belonged to a special world, she could not assume that anything with a familiar appearance would be made from familiar materials.
For that reason, she decided not to experiment.
Watching someone else buy it was enough.
The child seemed happy, and the adult did not appear concerned. Perhaps ordinary tourists did not know what they were eating. Or perhaps they knew and had already accepted it as part of the amusement park.
Either possibility made Lin Yun uncomfortable.
She reminded herself that she needed to be more careful from now on. In this place, even something as harmless-looking as an ice cream cart could hide information that the System had never mentioned.
Lin Yun glanced at the strange-looking ice cream and immediately felt nauseous.
She had a bad feeling about it.
The moment she realized what the ice cream might have been made from, she quickly looked away. It seemed that the unfamiliar flavors were not simply different kinds of ordinary ice cream. Some of them appeared to use ingredients she would never willingly touch.
The child, however, seemed completely unaware of anything unusual. He happily licked the ice cream and followed the adult away.
Not long afterward, Song Xizheng arrived.
His expression was grim.
Lin Yun looked at him. "You saw it too?"
Song Xizheng nodded silently. His gaze landed on the sign beside the cart, and his expression became even more complicated.
Lin Yun lowered her voice. "Let’s go to the visitor center. The System hasn’t explained everything about this place. There may be hidden rules that we don’t know about yet."
She deliberately spoke quietly. There were people nearby, and some of them might also be survivors. It would not be wise to casually reveal what they had discovered.
The two of them followed the map toward the visitor center.
When they arrived, Lin Yun immediately noticed that the staff members inside were dressed differently. The staff outside wore green vests, while the person working at the visitor center wore a red vest.
Lin Yun and Song Xizheng approached the staff member and asked about the little red flowers.
The red-vested staff member explained that tourists normally received two little red flowers as their initial funding. After that, they had to earn more themselves.
There were many ways to obtain them. They could be earned through activities, by interacting with certain NPCs, or through hidden gameplay. The little red flowers could be exchanged for many different things, but everyone was advised to think carefully before spending them.
Lin Yun listened carefully.
So these little red flowers were not merely decorative stickers. They were an important form of currency in this world.
The staff member then handed a card to both Lin Yun and Song Xizheng.
Lin Yun looked at her card, then suddenly smiled.
"Pretty lady, could you give me another little red flower?"
The staff member blinked.
"Of course."
Song Xizheng, who was standing beside Lin Yun, was stunned.
He looked at Lin Yun, then at the staff member.
Then he quickly asked, "Can I have one too?"
The staff member did not seem bothered. She took out her notebook, tore off two little red flowers, and gave one to each of them.
Only then did Lin Yun notice the name written on the staff member’s badge.
Linglan.
Lily of the Valley.
Lin Yun smiled. "Your name is beautiful, and so are the flowers."
Linglan looked surprised.
Lin Yun continued, "I’ll bring you a bouquet next time I come here."
Linglan’s eyes immediately lit up.
She seemed genuinely delighted by the promise. After a moment, she tore off two more little red flowers from her notebook and stuck both of them onto Lin Yun’s card.
Lin Yun looked down at the card.
She had not expected such an easy reward.
Linglan smiled happily. "It’s been a long time since someone complimented me like that. I’ll wait for your flowers next time."
She paused, then added seriously, "Remember to keep the little red flower safe!"
Lin Yun nodded.
"Of course."
Linglan then personally escorted the two of them toward the door.
She stood there and watched as they left the visitor center.
Once they were far enough away, Song Xizheng looked at Lin Yun with a complicated expression.
"Sister Lin, it has to be you again."
Lin Yun glanced at him.
"What?"
Song Xizheng looked at the extra flowers on her card and shook his head.
"Nothing. I just think you’re really good at getting things from NPCs."
Lin Yun did not answer immediately. She simply looked back toward the visitor center.
"Let’s come back again tomorrow."
Song Xizheng raised an eyebrow.
"Tomorrow?"
Lin Yun nodded. "I feel like that Linglan knows quite a bit."
She put the card with the little red flowers safely back into her belongings.
The visitor center gradually disappeared from their sight as they continued walking through the amusement park. The noisy sounds of the rides and tourists once again filled their surroundings.
Neither of them said anything more.
But Lin Yun kept thinking about Linglan’s warning.
If the little red flowers were important enough for the staff member to remind them to keep them safe, then they were certainly more than simple currency.
There had to be a reason.
For now, however, they could only observe and investigate step by step.
Linglan’s last words were a hint to them that they couldn’t afford to lose this thing.
