Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 117: It’s All Xu Chi’s Fault! The Breath of the Wood Spirit
Ghost Vine noticed Chen Aiguo’s gaze, shrank with a "poof," and quickly ran away.
Anyway, it had already created a bunch of vines all around. Once it shrank, it was just a ball of weeds. If anyone wanted to find it, they would have to search through the entire pile of vines.
After circling around and taking advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention, Ghost Vine quickly climbed onto Lin Yun’s body, crawled into her pocket, and pretended to be dead.
"Hiss, Xu Chi, you just saw that, didn’t you? Those vines..."
Chen Aiguo was interrupted by Xu Chi before he could finish speaking.
Xu Chi pretended not to know what he was talking about.
"What? What are you talking about? What vines? I don’t see any vines."
"Yeah, where did the vines come from? There aren’t any vines around here," Ji Mingfeng chimed in.
Lin Yun paused for a moment, then quickly retreated.
Fortunately, because of the explosion, the surrounding vehicles had been blown away and the bridge was in complete disarray, so no one noticed her as she blended into the chaos.
"That’s right. There are no vines. What nonsense are you talking about?"
Xu Chi’s team started blatantly lying.
Chen Aiguo and his team simply stared at the vines covering the area while listening to their ridiculous excuses.
"Oh, Aiguo, let me tell you, you’re just getting old and seeing things wrong. How could there be any plants on this bridge? Right?"
Xu Chi walked over, put his arm around Chen Aiguo’s shoulder, and laughed as he kicked a broken vine backward into the river.
Chen Aiguo: "..."
Did he want to take a look at how many vines were still wrapped around Jinhe Bridge?
And he still had the nerve to say there were no vines!
However, seeing Xu Chi’s expression, Chen Aiguo understood that Xu Chi didn’t want to talk about it.
And he wasn’t blind!
They had all seen it.
There had been a girl and two animals fighting Wu Yatu!
The vines had helped as well.
He just didn’t know why Xu Chi didn’t want them to know about it.
And that girl had disappeared too. He had only glanced at her for a moment, and she was already gone. He didn’t even know where she had gone.
Chen Aiguo hadn’t even had a chance to properly thank her yet.
After all, protecting the people was what they, as soldiers, should have been doing, yet a woman had stepped in front of them instead.
Thinking of this, Chen Aiguo’s face flushed.
It was all Xu Chi’s fault!
Chen Aiguo glared at Xu Chi and led his men toward the vehicles that had been parked haphazardly earlier.
As soon as Chen Aiguo and his men left, Ji Mingfeng rushed over and whispered into Xu Chi’s ear.
"Boss, do you think they believed us?"
Xu Chi immediately rolled his eyes.
"Did you go crazy from fighting zombies? This bridge is covered in vines. Do you think people are blind?"
"Then what were you pretending for just now?" Ji Mingfeng whispered.
"Isn’t it because we’re afraid of causing trouble for Miss Lin? After all, she provided us with so much information."
Xu Chi sighed, hoping that Chen Aiguo would understand what he meant and manage his subordinates properly.
As for Chen Aiguo, before getting into the car, he instructed everyone not to disclose anything about anyone present today except to their official personnel.
Despite their doubts, everyone obeyed Chen Aiguo’s orders and kept their mouths shut.
After Chen Aiguo and the others left, Xu Chi searched the surrounding area but couldn’t find Lin Yun.
He figured she must have already run away, so he simply tidied up the place and returned directly to the base.
After everyone had left, Lin Yun finally stopped hiding and happily began picking up the zombie corpses.
The corpses of the Level 2 and Level 3 zombies that Xu Chi and his group had killed were still here.
Pick them up!
Pick them all up!
There were crystal cores too!
Song Xizheng hadn’t run into Xu Chi and the others. He had simply found a place to hide and only came out after they had left.
Then he discovered Lin Yun happily picking up corpses.
The corners of his lips twitched.
He knew it!
There had been such a huge commotion all of a sudden. It was definitely related to Lin Yun again.
"Sister Lin!"
Lin Yun turned around and exclaimed, "Hey! Song Xizheng, come and pick up some zombies! There are plenty!"
The corners of Song Xizheng’s lips twitched again.
"It still has to be you, Sister Lin."
"Didn’t we say before that everything wasn’t arranged yet? How come a fight broke out today? What about Wu Yatu? Was she killed?"
"We took her down, we took her down. It was just a lucky coincidence today. We had the perfect timing, location, and people."
Lin Yun didn’t even look up. She continued tapping the zombies’ heads, collecting their crystal cores, and submitting their corpses, following the entire process without missing a beat.
Seeing how busy she was, Song Xizheng quickly came over to help.
He thoughtfully piled the zombie corpses together and also gave Lin Yun a bag to put the crystal cores in.
These were all Lin Yun’s spoils of war.
Song Xizheng had only bought her some time and hadn’t been able to help her at all, so he felt embarrassed about taking any of them.
"Good bro, you’re on the right track."
Lin Yun grinned, showing her big teeth.
Song Xizheng chuckled twice.
"Sister Lin, since that’s the case, if we happen to be together in the next world, could you take me with you?"
The smile on Lin Yun’s face instantly disappeared.
"I’m a noob. I’m a noob. I’m a noob."
Song Xizheng: "?"
"Sister Lin, is that really so? You’re a noob? You’ve already taken down the Zombie King. How can you call yourself a noob?"
"I’m a noob. I’m a noob."
Lin Yun remained silent, only repeating that she was a complete noob.
Song Xizheng: "..."
After picking up the zombie corpses on the bridge, Lin Yun straightened up and stretched.
"By the way, now that Wu Yatu is gone, we can also clear out the zombies near the square and get some points. Shall we go out and catch some zombies tomorrow?"
Lin Yun was in a good mood and extended an invitation.
Song Xizheng’s eyes lit up, and he immediately agreed.
Shortly after returning to the shelter, Lin Yun noticed that the rain outside was gradually subsiding.
She glanced out the window, then quickly looked away.
She was about to start drawing skills!
"System! I’ve drawn a skill!"
Lin Yun hurriedly called out to the system again.
The system brought up the skill lottery wheel.
[Go ahead and spin!]
Just as Lin Yun was about to press the lottery button, she suddenly remembered something.
She quickly went to the bathroom, washed her hands, and then pressed the lottery button.
[Congratulations, Survivor Lin Yun! You have obtained another special skill: Wood Spirit’s Breath.]
"The Breath of the Wood Spirit?"
Lin Yun was stunned for a moment, then opened her personal panel to check the details.
A new entry had appeared after the Skills section:
Wood Spirit’s Breath.
Lin Yun tapped it again, and information about the Wood Spirit’s Breath immediately popped up.
Special Skill: Wood Spirit’s Breath
Skill Effect: It can restore the vitality of plants and animals and upgrade mutated plants and animals.
(A progress bar will appear after use. When the progress bar is full, the mutated plant or animal will be upgraded.)
Note: This skill cannot be upgraded. The Breath of the Wood Spirit can be used once per day. After use, the skill enters a cooldown period and will refresh at midnight the following day. Other uses of the Breath of the Wood Spirit are awaiting discovery by the user.
Lin Yun opened her mouth again.
Was this... a skill tailor-made for her?
She glanced at Ghost Vine, which was still climbing up and down the Star Tea Tree.
The little vine could level up?
Then... what about the Stag Vine and the others?
