Surviving The Fourth Calamity
Chapter 2173 - 748: Survival Through Death
Even AO couldn’t hold back, and that ’Hmm?’ was exceptionally clear and lively.
After all, apart from Hill, who reacted quickly and managed to keep himself from opening his mouth, the others were going ’ah ah ah’.
Including Shaer.
As the Pool of Life exploded, the collapsed meeting hall of the God of Order also burst open.
Evidently, aside from the battle angels still outside engaging with a few order gods, and a small portion of obedient devils willing to fight alongside the battle angels, all others had their fates decided by the explosion.
In fact, some of the more fragile devils, well, and demons, died instantly on the spot.
Of course, this was the last scene Hill saw before the giant screen went black.
Shaer herself wasn’t at the top of the Heavenly Mountain, so the camera had to rely on its own reflexes to avoid danger... it was too sudden, and too swift, even though her reaction was considered fast, she was still slightly affected.
Shaer’s point of anger was naturally at this.
After all, it was a Shadow Artifact made specially for her by the God of Time and Space, and she hadn’t even used it much before one was damaged.
Actually, in another location it wouldn’t be that bad, but it just had to be at the Heavenly Mountain where not even shadows exist.
Earlier, she hung the spider silk with joy, and later... when it fell down with the spider silk, she could only brood alone.
However, Hill estimated that it hadn’t been completely destroyed; otherwise, Shaer wouldn’t only have called out once without much reaction... for the Lady of the Night is quite adept at misplacing her anger.
Beside her was the continuously screaming Great Peacock... Lansendel was yelling because he was managing two cameras while fleeing for his life, flapping his wings to cheer on his other self.
The most important thing is, he hadn’t given up on the effort to continue installing a camera, which is why the two giant screens were flashing so much.
It was all his constant switching, frantically seeking a place bright enough to be safe... there was no choice; when the God of Order deployed the ultimate move, he really used Zeus’ Sword of Thanos’ Light.
The main purpose of that was to cooperate with Thunder Arrow and the Cosmic Staff, tearing open endless traces of light.
The God of Order and others actually thought it through thoroughly; with this, they could limit the Pool of Life from hiding within the light as much as possible.
Even if it could still hide within, those traces would expose its marks.
As long as a trace could be found, the gods of order believed they could regain control of the Pool of Life into their palms.
Actually, they thought it through quite thoroughly.
On the Heavenly Mountain, at least the water and earth at this peak... are essentially condensations of positive energy.
Therefore, they planned to use the Universe Scepter, which holds space power and earth force, to suppress the Pool of Life’s resistance... even if the level of Zeus’ weapons wasn’t that high, but after all, it was primordial energy; it should still have some effect.
And all they needed was that little bit of time to activate their vast magic array.
This was the reason for the special certainty of those five permanent board members.
Moreover, those unique deities sent into the Pool of Life to battle Asmodeus undoubtedly had their purpose.
Besides that old man who liked to chatter and always looked down on battle angels, among those with complex attributes, the Lord of Hell clearly targeted them more when using killing moves.
Hill previously hadn’t thought much... until AO suggested that the God of Order could be described more like humans.
Before that, Hill always believed that these old folks only had strong power and noble status in mind.
So he really hadn’t considered that these gods of order might have moments of harassing what they perceived as lesser lifeforms.
Once the thought shifted to this... Cosette clearly didn’t belong to the type with a lot of dark incidents, which is why AO was so surprised to find out she was controlled by Asmodeus.
Well then, considering those who dared to enter the Pool of Life alone with Asmodeus don’t count... what kind of disgraceful deeds could other gods of order, those who couldn’t erase the filth on their bodies even after tens of thousands of years of positive energy, do?
That chatterbox might even be the only normal god among those who entered the pool, and he probably thought he was the most resented by Asmodeus, which is why he voluntarily entered.
So, why were those others willing to risk danger?
Well, equal gods of order, why would they willingly go to their deaths... even if they made ample preparations, everyone understood that they were still at a lot of risk.
As long as Asmodeus carried a bit of past emotions, in a reckless situation, he could surely take one down.
They were willingly sacrificing, but unfortunately, Asmodeus wasn’t as easily moved by past affairs as they thought.
Of course, he didn’t do nothing; at least he didn’t spare efforts in trying to pour the waste water Rose exploded onto those old folks.
But that’s all there was; he didn’t have any unnecessary actions.
It was even because that nagging old man subconsciously disliked mingling with those somewhat dirty Gods of Order, that Asmodeus never bothered with him.
When Lansendel finally stabilized a giant screen, Hill couldn’t help but rub his eyes... the situations he had just seen through those two flickering giant screens really made him exhausted.
Even though his eyes were exceptionally gifted, they had begun to feel a bit strained.
As for Shaer, after hesitating for a moment, she turned to Lansendel: "Put one at the door as well."
"Yours has just minor damage, hasn’t it broken?" Lansendel spread his wings in surprise, "Do you have to be so stingy?"
"What nonsense!" Shaer replied irritably, "There are light arrows scattered everywhere, where is there a place for my shadow surveillance camera?"
"Oh..." Lansendel’s wings finally dropped, "So, you’re still reluctant; I don’t believe William gave you a limited edition."
"What are you babbling about?" Shaer asked, bemused, "No matter how much he gives, I will still cherish what he gives me!"
"Maybe your love story is too much like that of a normal person, so Lansendel finds every bit of it surprising," Celene suddenly interjected.
"Are you free now? Didn’t get dung on you?" Shaer quickly retorted.
"Consider the feelings of innocent victims, would you? Shaer." Lansendel raised a paw, "After all, you still want me to work!"
"Why haven’t they acted yet?" Shaer pointed at the screen controlled by AO and asked seriously.
"The Pool of Life has exploded; how can they act?" AO replied softly, "Now, they need to consider whether to use this opportunity to completely trap Asmodeus.
So there... there’s actually such a purpose!"
"Old man, what cryptic games are you playing again?" Celene asked, unhappily... Shaer’s words seemed to have stung a bit.
"Asmodeus intends for the Gods of Order to be the ones who ultimately tear up the already tattered, about-to-be-completely-broken treaty as violators." AO’s voice was full of poignant reflection, "He really fits Hell quite well."
"So that’s why the Hall of Order... also uses the power of the Pool of Life as energy!" Hill couldn’t help but exclaim.
AO surely knows about this too.
But that old guy absolutely wouldn’t say it aloud.
Even though everyone here knows the Gods of Order are no good, as a former God of Order, AO likely doesn’t want to speak of such dirty matters.
No wonder the Pool of Life is restricted to the peak of Heavenly Mountain... Hill was still wondering how, given their inability to even draw lines properly, they managed to seal such a powerful core of Heavenly Mountain.
In over a million years, their technology hasn’t advanced to the point of ’drawing evenly.’ Then, before... even if the Pool of Life truly was a foolish, happy-to-cooperate entity with low intelligence under the control of the Gods of Order, it’s still somewhat unbelievable.
After all, the energy level is positioned there!
But if the Pool of Life really was stupid enough to hand over part of itself directly to the Gods of Order as auxiliary energy for managing the axis of Heavenly Mountain, then it’s understandable... understandable my ass!
While foolish children have lots of fun, this is practically the intelligence of a paramecium, isn’t it?
Among so many naturally long-lived planes, only Heavenly Mountain handed itself entirely over!
The mocking laughter from Celene interrupted Hill’s thoughts: "Heh~ Old man, you all have some real skill.
What kind of tongue would make Heavenly Mountain foolish to such an extent?
No wonder he’d rather blow himself up like fireworks.
Otherwise, even if he could free himself from the top of Heavenly Mountain, he could only hide away, doing nothing else.
Not even allowing other deities into his domain.
Heh~ Didn’t expect it~ He went all out in mutual destruction."
"How did Asmodeus accomplish it?" AO had no intention of acknowledging Celene’s sarcasm; he was merely talking to himself, "If the Pool of Life had this determination earlier, it should have exploded when Asmodeus and the others left Heavenly Mountain.
He, in fact, is quite influenced by the Gods of Order, thus hesitates to turn himself into another version of himself."
Hill of course understood... even if the Pool of Life self-destructs, it doesn’t mean the core will vanish, but the newly coagulated core will definitely not be the current Pool of Life, possibly manifesting in a different form entirely.
After all, the current state of the Pool of Life, while suitable for nurturing guardians, is not suitable for enhancing one’s own abilities.
But having been influenced by the Gods of Order for so long, even secretly colluding with Asmodeus to play out many tricks, the Pool of Life would absolutely not be willing.
Therefore, he’s surely certain that the newly appeared core of Heavenly Mountain will still be him, which is why he acted.
Hill recalled the three divine artifacts of Zeus.
