Surviving The Fourth Calamity
Chapter 2172 - 747: The Exploding Pool of Life
Hill actually had some doubts that Olypher had regained part of her emotions because of certain attributes of Agleya.
She behaved too sincerely.
If not for Ambori, Olypher’s way of doing things could be understood.
After all, the Northern Sword Bay controlled by Agleya was really too close to her.
If she didn’t want to just squatting on the big Ice Plain, her territory even smaller than when Talos was around, Olypher had to behave a little more docile.
Anyway, since Agleya obviously didn’t intend to expand her faith, it wouldn’t matter much if Olypher used her name to do her own thing.
But, Ambori, that Ambori, was able to appear in the Sword Bay area and move freely just because of good relations with the Undead Tribe.
Many powerful beings thus confirmed that this Agleya Goddess from another world indeed had no intention of becoming Toril’s Sea God.
After all, if she really wanted to develop her power, how could she tolerate Ambori wandering around her territory? That was Ambori!
Of course, even more incredible was that, when Ambori was hanging around in the territory of another goddess competing for Ocean God right with her, she was so polite.
Not once did she resort to the famous curse words known throughout Toril.
But, because Ambori lived so freely, it now seemed odd that Olypher was still turning herself into someone else’s subordinate.
Hill speculated out a bit of the reason Olypher would do such a thing from the piece of information he got.
After Olypher escaped Talos’s assault with Agleya’s power, she indeed became much stronger, having acquired some leftover powers from the ancient fallen Sea God. But what she probably did not expect was that there really was a Sea God with life energy.
Agleya’s energy attributes, even in the Multiverse, were special.
Ice and snow and the sea, life and destruction, she touched them all to some extent.
Worlds like Teraxil, where an entire ocean and even rivers, seas, and lakes belonged to a deity, were extremely rare.
Toril, this bizarre place... their Goddess of the Spring almost all added points to endurance, and even if she could heal, it was a single heal and only for herself.
So, it’s likely the first time that Olypher sensed that healing power from above the ocean and within the ice and snow.
Judging by how she handled her believers later, and really ruthlessly eradicated the more evil parts of her doctrinal tenets in her cult, this former Great Fairy, that fragmented heart of hers, probably started to heal a bit.
Otherwise, Agleya’s energy wouldn’t be useful to her.
Actually, Hill had long known that his two daughters were much more steadfast than him, and they would absolutely not give anyone the green light just because they felt sympathetic.
If not fully satisfied, they would absolutely not give any advantages, no, they wouldn’t even give a good face.
So, Olypher’s insistence on behaving so properly presented a good path for the Northern Girl, frightening quite a few deities likewise idling in the North.
It’s even said that Azuth popped his head in, checking if this old flame had indeed become a different person.
Though most people couldn’t see Olypher’s hidden motives, they only knew that she suddenly stepped onto the path of the True God after establishing commerce with the Undead Tribe.
Like Ambori, who ran maritime trades... Could she still be considered an evil deity?
A typical Evil God wouldn’t go and make money; they used to just reach out and take.
The Destruction Pantheon style was naturally a contentious one for the people and gods of Toril.
Whether it was Ambori or Olypher, they could be mad, foolish, even decisive in killing, just... no one expected them to act like normal people.
Yet both of these two changed to normal people after associating with the Undead Tribe.
Thus, a few deities naturally wanted to know what kind of magic the Undead Tribe had to accomplish such terrifying things.
Unfortunately, those who approached the Undead Tribe with that mindset and left with their sanity intact were indeed not many.
Even Lansendel and Celene would be constantly astounded and unable to discern the truth when communicating with the Undead Tribe!
Not to mention the deities with their own set of logical rules in their heads.
Thus, rumors circulated in Toril that some deities went mad trying to uncover the Undead Tribe’s secrets.
Hill, of course, would not believe such talk.
After all, if they had really delved to the depths, they should already be non-existent deities by now.
"Boom!" A huge explosion sound came from the giant screen.
"Bang bang bang!"
Beside what was originally a white Pool of Life, suddenly burst a puddle of yellow-green water stains.
Then, coupled with loud crashing noises, it was stimulated into strange water mist spreading in all directions.
Hill couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow... this shot was definitely not from Asmodeus.
Moreover, this familiar style, Rose?
The Spider Queen was not the kind of self-sacrificing good ally; she would only take action if she gained sufficient benefits.
"Eek... Ugh... Damn Rose, why is it so disgusting everywhere?" Celene couldn’t help but shout.
Hill glanced at the massive stone where she and Lansendel were standing. Clearly, Rose didn’t intend to leave them a clean spot, as the filthy mist relentlessly crashed into their faces.
Lansendel and Celene, happy to watch the commotion, could only scramble and dash away.
Shaer’s wanton laughter proved their embarrassment.
Hill immediately understood that the Pool of Life had intervened... Though most of the toxins Rose holds are biological, she had some connections with the Plague Goddess, resulting in some life-imbued poisons.
Ah yes, she seems to have connections with Lady Fungus too.
Not as friends, of course, but by having leverage over the big mushroom’s weaknesses, enabling her to acquire some unusual materials.
And the toxins from these small things are concentrated to protect themselves, thus not considered evil creatures, and their life force isn’t strong enough to have significant effect in Rose’s hands.
But in the Pool of Life’s hands, dying is no easy task...
Moreover, he hasn’t excessively violated his inherent attributes.
Hill turned his head and looked at Lansendel, who had a serious expression: "So, the toxins are hard to resist?"
"Mm, they are not lethal." Lansendel indeed was as expected, even if he chose to flee, he wouldn’t retreat without putting up a fight.
Being a light-condensed incarnation, slicing off part of his body is quite simple for him.
No matter how strong the Pool of Life makes this thing, it couldn’t possibly be strong enough to directly overwhelm a powerful divine power.
"Positive energy definitely won’t kill that thing, it’s not evil." AO’s voice carried a hint of surprise, "However, Thunder Element Spells should work.
The Pool of Life, does it hope the God of Order releases mass Thunder Element Spells here?
Why?"
"The runes Asmodier cast earlier weren’t just to assist Rose in exploding the sewage, right?" Shaer asked seriously, "So, AO, do you know what transaction the sky deity Zeus, proclaimed the god of thunder, made with the Gods of Order back then?"
"I only know about the Thunder Arrow and a sword named Thanos." AO replied, "That sword isn’t particularly special; it’s just a weapon condensed with light energy, and many Light Gods possess it.
As for the arrow, it’s said that throwing it into the sky can bring down a torrential flash of lightning and thunder, its power is considerable."
"Have you seen a scepter made of gold and gemstones?" Shaer pursued further.
Hill immediately understood who was asking... In the legends of their world, Zeus possesses a Cosmic Staff that only he can use, an artifact for controlling the earth and sky.
The Cosmic Staff, combined with the Thunder Arrow, can kill any creature that opposes him.
The Greek Mythology doesn’t have the constraint that Supreme Gods cannot kill mortals; they could destroy the world with a wave of their hand.
Therefore, they hardly have any weapons that would spare the benevolent.
If they fight, everything is targeted, and saying "Ah, what an unfortunate accident to happen right here" would already be considered a noble act.
That’s why Prometheus is so precious.
In fact, it seems quite suitable for the current God of Order.
After all, in the past, their problems were mostly caused by Evil Forces.
But these years, whether openly or secretly opposing them, there have been many powerful and even great divine powers from the Neutral Faction.
Who let them stretch their hand too far?
Zeus’s weapons are practically a blessing shower for them.
But just like AO mentioned earlier, Zeus and his Mount Olympia were welcomed into the Heavenly Mountain by the strong encouragement of Goddess Cosette.
So, everyone knows this endless thunder, solid sky, and Earth Force once unleashed, would essentially buff the enemies.
Though it’s unclear what purpose the Pool of Life has for it.
But...
"Ah... it’s actually being used." Lansendel’s tone was a bit dry.
How should I put it... Perhaps living in the white world for too long, these Gods of Order noticeably couldn’t withstand the filthy yellow-green muddy water.
The screams they emitted were even louder than when Asmodier blew several large holes into them.
Even the instigator, the always-smiling Lord of Hell, couldn’t help but widen his eyes in surprise.
Then the entire Pool of Life was filled with layer upon layer of pale purple radiance, along with heavenly thunder.
"Damn it~ Nothing good here!" Celene let out a tender shout, but even though she was cursing, her voice was quite excited.
"Can you stay away from me while dodging lightning, Celene!" Lansendel’s shout proved she was indeed quite excited, still having the mood to sweep thunder across to the neighboring side.
"Huh?!" Shaer’s voice followed, "Why did it explode? What exactly is he trying to achieve?"
The eternal Pool of Life shockingly blew to smithereens amidst this grand attack.
