Kai’s P.O.V.

Kai was pacing around the room, he wasn’t sure how to tell Ben. He had told Erik that he wanted Ben to stay with them. Ben’s father died a few months prior due to a heart attack. His mother was still alive. She was a sweet lady who would do anything for her son. Kai and his family really liked her.

Kai was struggling with how to send the message. He knew it was now or never. Once communication died he was not sure he would get another chance to see him. Kai was not sure if Ben would believe him but he still gave it a try. That was his best friend they were talking about.

Golden Boy Kai: Bro, are you there?

Blue Dragon Ben: Yeah, what’s up?

Golden Boy Kai: Can you come to my house at 5:30pm? Bring Aunty with you. We are having a dinner for Penny, she wants both of you here.

He didn’t want to alert him of anything yet. Ben was the type to panic over the little things.

Blue Dragon Ben: What is Penny celebrating? I’ll ask mom to see if she wants to go. She hasn’t really been up for any socializing.

Golden Boy Kai: Tell her Penny said she must attend.

Blue Dragon Ben: Okay, let me check.

Ten minutes later Ben came back with an okay.

Golden Boy Kai: Alright, cool. We’ll see both you and Aunty here at 5:30pm for Dinner.

After Kai and Ben finished making arrangements, Kai got up to go to Penny’s room.

Penelope’s P.O.V.

Knock Knock

"It’s open" Penny said. Kai pushed the door open and saw she had showered and changed into home loungewear.

"Penny, I talked to Ben already, he’ll be here with aunty at 5:30pm. Will that give you enough time to talk about your important matters?"

"You’re bringing Ben and Aunt Lucy?" Penny was genuinely asking. She wasn’t really sure how deep the bond between Ben and Kai was. For Kai to trust Ben so much, it shows that their friendship was strong.

"Yeah, Ben has been struggling all alone since Uncle John’s death. I know that we should keep to ourselves but I wanted to save Ben and Aunt Lucy. I hope you can understand"

"Alright. I can understand that. Go check if Aunt and Erik are done." Penny dismissed Kai. She didn’t really mind having Ben and his mother over. She knew from the memories that Aunt Lucy was a sweetheart, but that was all. It would be good for Aunt Mary to have company.

When Penny sat on her desk she pulled the box that Silent had left her. She opened the box and her pupils constricted. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. It was a long sword with Imperial jade mixed in there. The hilt was made of gold and jade, while the blade itself was black iron and jade. Once she touched the sword she heard her system alerts.

"Master, master. Quick, bring this sword in the space. This is a real treasure. It’s pure Jade and Gold. It also contains Magnetite minerals. This is enough to upgrade the space. Hurry, bring it in."

"Upgrade? It can’t be that easy, can it?"

"Master, what are you thinking! This is some good stuff. You won’t get a chance like this again. The minerals in this sword are 100% pure. Trust me, you will thank me later" Penelope could swear that she could see Oddy twirling around. She wasn’t one to over think so she did as she was told.

"Yes, confirm" Penny nodded her head. Upgrades were usually a good thing.

Just as the upgrade started, Penelope began to feel sleepy.

*45 mins later*

Penelope opened her eyes, feeling refreshed. Her mind was clearer and her body didn’t feel like it was plagued with fatigue.

"Master, open the control panel, see what’s new"

As she opened the panel she noticed a screen that said "Authorized personal"

She clicked on it and saw that she went from having 5 spaces open to have 20 spaces open.

Her Farming space had also doubled in size. Her spring also tripled in size. The land for home building was also extended in size. What was going on.

"Oddy, if I collect another valuable object like the sword, will the upgrade be the same?" Penelope was getting excited. If that was the case, she would go and raid all the museums in the city.

"Perhaps, it depends on the value of the minerals on the object"

Just as she was going to ask another question she heard Kai calling her down to the living room. It seems that Erik and Aunt Mary have finished their business.

Penelope rushed downstairs with an excited face. She was looking forward to sharing her good news with her family. As she ran down the stairs she saw Erik standing at the bottom of the staircase. Acting like some knight waiting on the princess to descend. Penelope attempted to hop down the last 3 steps and ended up losing her balance. Almost falling face down towards the tile floor.

"Woah, slow down munchkin. You’re going to hurt yourself!" Erik said as he grabbed my arm to steady me. She proceeded on linking my hand over his arm and walked towards the couch where Aunt and Kai were waiting. Erik smelled like pine trees in winter. It was a rather comfortable scent.

"Aunt, Kai, Erik, let’s talk. I have so much to say. You wouldn’t believe what great treasure we have in our hands." Penelope said as she pulled Erik to sit down. She let go of his arm smiled.

Erik was mesmerized by her smile. This was the smile he remembered. This one was so carefree. Previously, when she smiled it was always cautious. It was like she was trying to hide something behind her smile.

Kai just smiled as she smiled. He loved to see her smiling so freely. "Could this have to do with your mutated space?"

"Bingo! that’s what I want to talk to all of you about" Penny said as she nodded her head up and down like a hen.

"Mutated space?" Erik asked while he reached out to hold Penny’s head still with both hands. He felt that her head was going to fall off with so much nodding.

Penelope swatted his hands off of her head as she responded "Yes, except it’s not a mutated space. It’s actually much more that."
