Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 46: Family’s Blessing
Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Family’s Blessing
Seraphina Sinclair’s fingertips lightly brushed over the last item.
It was a faintly shimmering green potion. To put it less charitably, it was a fluorescent green potion, and it really didn’t look like anything good.
After the survival pack’s box disappeared, it lay quietly on the ground.
The item’s purpose was clear from its name. The important questions were whether the attribute increase was temporary or permanent, and what the specific numerical bonus was.
[Random Attribute Potion]
[Description: Upon consumption, randomly increases one basic attribute (Strength, Speed, Constitution). The value is fixed at 1, and the effect is permanent.]
’A fixed value and a permanent effect!’
But the list of attributes it could increase didn’t include Intelligence.
’Looks like Intelligence is a special attribute.’
Regardless, she was definitely going to use the Potion.
Seraphina Sinclair immediately opened one. She didn’t rush to drink it, instead bringing it closer to smell it first.
’Hmm... no smell.’
She frowned at the fluorescent liquid in the glass tube. ’It really takes some courage to drink this.’ If the system hadn’t been so explicit, there was no way Seraphina Sinclair would have even considered tasting something this color.
A moment later, she closed her eyes, tilted her head back, and downed it all.
A pop-up immediately appeared before Seraphina Sinclair, but she just licked her lips, her expression one of pleasant surprise.
’It’s delicious!’
’Honeydew melon flavor!’
’And it’s not an overpowering flavor, either. It’s light, with just a hint of fragrance!’
Among the few beverages Seraphina Sinclair actually liked, this one definitely ranked near the top.
She looked at the panel.
[Speed +1]
It was Speed this time.
Seraphina Sinclair opened the remaining two survival packs, picked up the potions, and drank them down. One added a point to Constitution, and the other added another point to Speed.
She checked her updated panel.
[Name]: Seraphina Sinclair
[Zone]: Drakonia, Greater Zone 3, Zone 888
[Intelligence]: 10
[Strength]: 9
[Constitution]: 11
[Speed]: 11
[Evaluation]: The standard panel for a newcomer adapting to The Black Mist World. However... your progress seems to be a bit faster. (A normal person’s Attributes are 10.)
The Evaluation had updated.
Seraphina Sinclair gave it a casual glance before turning her attention back to her Attributes.
’Now both Constitution and Speed are 11, which makes my Strength seem a bit low in comparison.’
’It’s still fine, though.’
’In any case, the Fine Steel Dagger provides two points of Strength, so in actual combat, it all evens out.’
The three survival packs yielded a total of thirty meal tickets, enough for ten days’ worth of food. If she only used one per day for a proper meal and found other ways to supplement her diet, they could last for thirty days.
In short, she wouldn’t have to worry about food for the foreseeable future.
The three survival packs had yielded a total of nine Expansion Crystals. She was still six short of what she needed to upgrade the mobile cabin.
That wasn’t urgent, though. Seraphina Sinclair’s gaze fell on the Medical Bag.
’The items from the survival pack were so good. The Medical Bag can’t be bad, right?’
Filled with anticipation, Seraphina Sinclair lifted the lid, only for a panel to instantly pop up before her.
[Survivor’s current condition is good. No need to use!]
’Oh?’
’So... this Medical Bag isn’t a container, but a usable item.’
Seraphina Sinclair paused and checked the item’s details.
[Advanced Medical Kit]
[Description: Contains The Black Mist World’s most cutting-edge medical technology. It can automatically detect a survivor’s physical condition and provide targeted treatment when activated. Effects include but are not limited to: stanching bleeding, neutralizing toxins, setting fractures, alleviating internal injuries, and clearing infections. Upon use, the Medical Kit will consume some or all of its resources depending on the severity of the injury. Current remaining treatment resources: 100/100!]
Note: Life is priceless, but you’re in luck—this one’s on the house.]
’It’s pretty powerful.’
Seraphina Sinclair put the item away and navigated through the interface to find the last thing.
The thing called "Legendary Achievement."
She raised an eyebrow.
She had seen the achievement system before while getting used to the interface, but since she hadn’t earned any achievements back then, she couldn’t even open the menu.
Now that she had one, she could finally open it.
Only one was lit up: [Family’s Blessing].
Seraphina Sinclair stared at the two golden words, her brow slightly furrowed.
The achievement’s name sounded far from the "Legendary" she had imagined. It had neither an intimidating title nor a flashy Skill description.
"Family’s Blessing?" she murmured, touching the line of text with her fingertip.
Instantly, the golden words flowed and expanded, transforming into a long, detailed description:
[Family’s Blessing (Legendary Title)]
[Description: As the first survivor on the entire server to clear the novice instance, you have proven that you possess potential and courage that defy common sense! In The Black Mist World, the mobile cabin is not just a shelter but also a source of power—the only safe home for every survivor! Therefore, you are rewarded with this achievement!]
[Equip Effect: Intelligence +3! (While inside the mobile cabin, Intelligence receives an additional +1, for a total of +4!)]
’It increases Intelligence!’
Seraphina Sinclair had just been wondering how to raise that Attribute, and now the answer had fallen right into her lap.
She immediately equipped it.
The Intelligence stat on her panel jumped from 10 to 14—a massive increase!
Another thing worth mentioning was that the glass vials from the Random Attribute Potions hadn’t disappeared.
Putting them to good use, Seraphina Sinclair placed them in the composter. They were the right size and perfectly usable.
Now she could store up to six vials of nutrient liquid.
As Seraphina Sinclair took out the vial she had filled yesterday, intending to close the lid and go feed the Sunflower, she tilted her head up and noticed another output nozzle.
She blinked, studying it for a moment. After confirming that the nutrient liquid didn’t come from there, she realized she must have missed another of the device’s hidden functions.
’So... what is it?’
Seraphina Sinclair opened the device’s panel. After some fiddling, she discovered a switch in a hidden corner for extracting blood.
’The final ingredient for the three types of runes—monster blood—was right under my nose the whole time.’
Seraphina Sinclair stood in silence for a moment before pressing the switch.
The device seemed to have some in stock already. A small puddle of viscous, dark red liquid slowly flowed out of the nozzle, emitting a faint, metallic odor.
It dripped right into the empty glass vial she had just placed inside.
After the device stopped, Seraphina Sinclair picked up the filled glass vial, raising it to watch the bizarre liquid slosh around inside the transparent container.
She gently swirled the vial and discovered the blood was in a semi-coagulated state, writhing slowly as if it were some kind of living creature.
"What kind of monster’s blood is this... The ones I killed didn’t have blood like this,"
she muttered, holding the vial up to her eye for a closer look. A strange wisp of black mist would occasionally rise from the blood’s surface before vanishing instantly, adding to its eerie nature.
’But I’m just using it for rune painting, not drinking it, so I don’t care what it looks like,’ Seraphina Sinclair thought.
