Chapter 434: Chapter 433: Fifty Portions

was stunned. "Gray, did you... did you just empty out the entire kitchen of the Stardust Gallery?"

Gray’s tentacles twitched slightly. Only then did it realize 001 was also here. Its three eyes swiveled in unison to look at 001, a hint of surprise in them.

"What are you doing here?"

yawned.

He was still in a pair of wrinkled pajamas, his hair a mess. He clearly just woke up.

"I live here," he said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Gray’s tentacles froze. "You... live here?"

"Yep." 001 nodded. "This..."

After yesterday’s emotional outburst, 001 felt awkward no matter how he looked at Seraphina Sinclair. He didn’t know what to call her, so he simply skipped over it and continued haughtily, "She agreed to let me stay."

As he spoke, he pointed to the Sunflower in the corner. "See? I sleep with it. This place is way more comfortable than my shabby little shack."

All three of Gray’s eyes widened as it looked at Seraphina Sinclair. Its gaze was practically screaming: ’My Lady, you took him in? You actually took him in? How could you take him in?!’

Seraphina Sinclair stared back at it, her expression blank.

’What, you have a problem with it?’

The tips of Gray’s tentacles curled, and it swallowed the words on the tip of its tongue.

’No problem, no problem at all. How could I dare have a problem?’

Seeing the atmosphere growing cold, Seraphina Sinclair remained silent for two seconds before finally speaking up. "What is all this...?"

"Fifty servings of Steamed Cucumber with Braised Venison! It’s my gift to you, My Lady!" Gray’s voice was filled with irrepressible pride. "Not one serving less! It’s all here!"

As it spoke, it patted the topmost food container with a tentacle, making a dull THUD-THUD sound.

"It’s all hot! Fresh from the wok! I had the kitchen staff work through the night to rush them out! If you eat now, My Lady, the temperature is just right!"

Seraphina Sinclair looked at the stack of food containers piled taller than a person, then at Gray’s face, which was all but written with the words "Praise me! Praise me!"

"...Fifty servings?"

"Yes! Fifty servings!" Gray nodded emphatically, its tentacles wobbling along. "My Lady, you’re C-level now, which is precisely when you need to eat a lot. This Steamed Cucumber with Braised Venison is our restaurant’s specialty. Eating it can increase your attribute points! Although one serving doesn’t give many, fifty servings stacked up should give you a nice little boost!"

It paused, then added, "And I had them include a bowl of pearl rice with every serving! The kind where every grain is perfectly separate! It’s even more delicious when you eat them together!"

Seraphina Sinclair stared at it, momentarily at a loss for words.

’Should I say I can’t eat this much? Or that I’m suddenly not that hungry anymore?’

Seraphina Sinclair opened her mouth, looked at Gray’s expectant face, and finally managed just two words: "...Thank you."

All three of Gray’s eyes lit up at once, and the tips of its tentacles couldn’t help but twist into a little flourish in the air. "Don’t be polite, My Lady! It’s my pleasure!"

As it spoke, it directed the line of little chefs behind it to file in.

The little chefs, each carefully cradling a food container, walked into the small house in a line.

They were clearly well-trained. Their movements were synchronized, and they even placed the food containers at a uniform height and spacing, as if they had used a ruler.

Seraphina Sinclair’s stone table was quickly filled.

Then the windowsill.

Then the corners of the room.

Then every other available flat surface.

Gray followed at the very end, three tentacles propping it up on the floor while its remaining ones struggled to maintain balance, steadily placing the last food container right on the Gloom Hatchling’s head.

The Gloom Hatchling: "???"

It had also just woken up and was now balancing a food container larger than its own head, looking utterly bewildered. It blinked its eyes and looked at Seraphina Sinclair. "Awo?"

Seraphina Sinclair: "...Take it off."

Gray quickly extended a tentacle, lifted the food container off the Gloom Hatchling’s head, and laughed sheepishly. "Sorry, sorry, I didn’t see..."

It glanced around and realized there was truly nowhere left to put it. Three of its tentacles hovered in mid-air, a little unsure of what to do.

"Um... My Lady, how about I take a few servings back for now?"

Seraphina Sinclair surveyed the room full of food containers and fell silent for two seconds. "...No need."

She paused, then added, "Just put them on the floor."

As if granted a pardon, Gray hurriedly directed the little chefs to stack the food containers on the floor.

Soon, a small mountain built from food containers appeared on the cottage floor—neatly arranged and a truly spectacular sight.

watched from the side, his eyes wide with disbelief.

He sidled up to Seraphina Sinclair and opened his mouth to say something, but then he started fussing over what to call her again. Finally, he steeled himself and decided to follow Gray’s lead and call her "My Lady."

’Anyway, he and Gray were good friends. A good friend’s Lady was his Lady, too.’

looked at Seraphina Sinclair and whispered, "My Lady, did Gray empty out the Stardust Gallery’s entire warehouse this time?"

Seraphina Sinclair ignored him.

She looked at Gray. The latter was watching her with an expectant gaze, its three eyes blinking and its tentacles curled slightly, like a puppy waiting to be praised.

’If it had chosen a more attractive form, the praise would come more easily.’

"Well done."

Gray’s eyes instantly lit up like three small lanterns. "Really?! You think it’s well done, My Lady?!"

"Mhm."

Gray’s tentacles twisted into an extremely complex knot in the air, and the entire octopus began to glow.

watched from the side, completely dumbfounded.

’He’d known Gray for so many years, but when had he ever seen it act like this?’

’The arrogant Manager of the Stardust Gallery, who was always so aloof with everyone; the Gray that even he had to treat with courtesy—this same Gray was now this overjoyed just because of a simple "Well done"?’

silently looked over at Seraphina Sinclair. ’Just what kind of magic did this human possess?’

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t notice 001’s gaze. She was looking at the room full of food containers, silently calculating in her head.

’Fifty servings of Steamed Cucumber with Braised Venison.’

’This clearly wasn’t the ordinary food she usually ate. According to Gray, these were all made with C-level ingredients.’

’Although it wouldn’t have a huge effect on her body, which had already consumed Moonlight Pudding, fifty servings of such food were indeed a considerable fortune.’

’And for her, right now, it was still quite useful.’

With this in mind, Seraphina Sinclair looked up at Gray. "How long will these keep?"

Gray paused for a moment, then quickly replied, "They’re all packed in our restaurant’s best preservation containers. They’ll keep for twelve days at room temperature without any spoilage, but the taste will be different after that."

Seraphina Sinclair nodded.

’Twelve days. That was enough time to eat most of the Steamed Cucumber with Braised Venison and also organize the space inside her Silver Moon Earrings to store the rest.’

"Please, eat to your heart’s content, My Lady! I’ll bring more when you’re done!" it declared, waving a tentacle magnanimously. "I’ve already instructed the kitchen. From now on, they will set aside ten servings for you every day!"

Seraphina Sinclair glanced at it.

’Ten servings?’

She looked down at herself, then at the mountain of food containers. "Do I look like I can eat that much?"
