Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 350: Dragon Breath Following Form
Chapter 350: Chapter 350: Dragon Breath Following Form
That should do it.
Seraphina Sinclair’s gaze locked onto the D-level monster still looking around in a daze. She planted her foot and charged!
Her movements weren’t particularly swift or flashy, but her steps were firm, the blade moving as an extension of her body.
As she closed the distance, she gripped the hilt with both hands, swinging the blade in a diagonal upward slash toward the monster’s torso!
’Dragon Breath Following Form!’
She activated the Skill with a thought.
HUMMM—!
An intense blue light erupted from the blade! The coiled Water Dragon seemed to spring to life in an instant, letting out a low, guttural roar.
Where the blade cut through the air, three crescent-shaped, azure Water Blades—each a half-meter long—shot out from the sword, fanning forward!
The Water Blades were formed entirely of highly condensed and compressed currents. Their edges were razor-sharp, the water within turbulent. As they flew, they created a sharp whistling sound that tore through the air, mingled with the rushing SPLASH of a torrent.
Seraphina Sinclair remained in the posture she’d used to unleash the Skill, staring dumbfounded at the three azure Water Blades before her.
This was a power that truly transcended nature!
It wasn’t that she considered attribute points, the basic Skill Books she’d studied, or the various strange monsters of this world to be natural. It was because these Water Blades perfectly matched the image of superpowers that people from her old world had only ever dreamed of.
Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes were glued to the Water Blades, and to the monster they were about to strike.
She needed to see not only *how* the Water Blades attacked, but also just how powerful they were.
The monster finally sensed the mortal danger, let out a strange cry, and instinctively tried to dodge to the side.
But it was too slow. Or rather, the Water Blades were too fast!
PFFT! PFFT! PFFT!
The three Water Blades struck the monster’s torso almost simultaneously, making a sound like a high-pressure jet blasting apart rotten wood!
The first Water Blade exploded on contact, transforming into countless fine, sharp, high-pressure Water Arrows that burrowed deep into the monster’s body, drawing out streams of foul-smelling, dark green fluid.
The monster’s body trembled violently, and it staggered backward from the impact.
Immediately after, the second and third Water Blades struck in quick succession, also exploding!
BOOM!
Under the continuous barrage of water-based explosions, the monster’s body burst apart like a watermelon smashed by a sledgehammer!
Severed limbs and viscous fluids flew everywhere, only to be instantly washed away by the lingering currents of water.
In just two short seconds, a D-level monster had been completely obliterated, leaving behind nothing but a large, rapidly evaporating wet patch on the floor and a much fainter stench in the air, cleansed by the water vapor.
Seraphina Sinclair maintained her post-swing stance, panting slightly—not from exhaustion, but from sheer excitement.
She looked down at the Water Dragon Roar in her hand.
The blade was still as clear as water, the dragon motif coiling serenely, as if the violent strike just now had nothing to do with it.
Only near the edge of the blade, a faint wisp of soon-to-dissipate water vapor still lingered.
"So... powerful," Seraphina Sinclair murmured.
She knew a Skill from a B-level Weapon should be effective against a D-level monster, but witnessing the near-instant kill with her own eyes was still a massive shock.
Moreover, she could feel that she hadn’t fully unleashed the power of Dragon Breath Following Form in that last strike.
The Skill’s Description read: "When in an aquatic environment, the number of Water Blades is doubled." It was this powerful in a dry room; how terrifying would it be by a lake or in the rain?
But what Seraphina Sinclair sensed wasn’t an issue of moisture; it was something far more subtle.
Perhaps it was because she didn’t have B-level strength yet, so she couldn’t unleash the blade’s full potential.
But even so, it was already so much better than that D-level longsword.
More importantly... this was just one Active Skill. She still had a passive, life-saving one!
The black mist began to recede slowly, and the cabin became bright again.
Seraphina Sinclair gently caressed the cool blade, her heart filled with an unprecedented sense of security.
She gave the blade a flourish before sheathing it.
Although the Water Dragon Roar itself didn’t come with a scabbard, she had found a suitably sized long leather bag among the supplies she’d collected earlier, which she was using as a temporary scabbard.
The blade was a perfect fit for her. She was so fond of it right now that she couldn’t even bear to store it away in her Silver Moon Earrings.
’The materials list is still on it,’ Seraphina Sinclair thought, glancing at the Water Dragon Roar Engraving Map, which had reverted to a simple blue schematic. She carefully put it away. ’The A-level Scroll is gone, but the map is reusable. When I have the resources later, maybe I can try to gather the materials and craft another one?’
’Then again, there’s no point in me having two identical blades. Besides, that’s a problem for another day.’
Feeling cheerful, Seraphina Sinclair hummed a little tune as she strolled around the mobile cabin, waiting for the black mist to surge in again.
A D-level Supply Box in the corner caught her eye, pulling Seraphina Sinclair slightly from her joyful reverie.
She walked over. For some reason, before opening the box, she felt a trace of nervousness.
This was hardly her first time opening a D-level Supply Box. In fact, she’d opened plenty. The nervousness felt completely out of place.
Seraphina Sinclair lifted the lid of the Supply Box. The item acquisition page popped up immediately, but she didn’t look at it, instead peering inside the box.
Inside was a gray dagger, a few strange fragments, and a pair of brand-new boots.
The first two items looked incredibly familiar. Seraphina Sinclair furrowed her brow subconsciously and used Insight on the gray dagger.
Familiar text popped up: [Damaged Holy Dagger (D-level)].
The memory came flooding back, and Seraphina Sinclair instantly remembered.
’After the last instance ended, I killed a Mimic Corpse. Weren’t these the exact two items inside the Supply Box it dropped?!’
’The Holy Dagger, and these fragments!’
’Last time, after I dismantled the dagger, I was too busy upgrading my longsword to even look at what these fragments were.’
Seraphina Sinclair was the type of person who never threw anything away. Of course, tossing something into her Silver Moon Earrings didn’t count.
She rummaged through her Silver Moon Earrings and, sure enough, found fragments identical to the ones in the Supply Box.
Seraphina Sinclair patiently counted them. She now had eight pieces in total.
Although the fragments had similar colors and patterns, each one had a different shape, as if they could be pieced together directly.
Figuring it was worth a shot, Seraphina Sinclair laid all the fragments on the floor and began fitting them together like a jigsaw puzzle.
She had only picked up two pieces when she realized it really *was* a puzzle.
The two pieces in her hand acted like opposite poles of a magnet. As they drew close, she felt a faint pull, and the patterns along their edges seemed to align.
A jolt of excitement hit Seraphina Sinclair, and she quickened her pace.
She carefully examined the shape of each fragment’s edge and the broken patterns inscribed upon them.
