Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 275: Moonlight’s Kiss
Chapter 275: Chapter 275: Moonlight’s Kiss
Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t sure what the waiter was thinking, but just from the longing look it gave the Moonlight Pudding, she could hazard a guess.
However...
Their original agreement had been for ingredients, not a finished dish.
Therefore, Seraphina Sinclair had already gone beyond the scope of their agreement just by summoning it to see the Moonlight Pudding in person—though her primary motive hadn’t been to let the waiter have an eye-opening experience.
The waiter was perceptive enough to take the hint. After noticing Seraphina Sinclair’s gaze, it took one last look at the pudding, then left the cozy mobile cabin with several thousand gigabytes of videos and photos it had shot.
Seraphina Sinclair was truly speechless. The creature’s final expression looked like it was going through a tragic, life-and-death farewell.
No one would have ever imagined the waiter could wear such an expression purely over a dish.
Seraphina Sinclair didn’t understand the waiter’s obsession, but she had an obsession of her own right now: Constitution!
’A random increase of five attribute points. As long as two of them land on Constitution...’
Seraphina Sinclair took a deep breath, her gaze fixed resolutely on the Moonlight Pudding in her hands.
Its gentle glow seemed capable of soothing all anxiety, yet it only made her heart pound faster.
She sat down cross-legged and placed the box steadily on her lap. She closed her eyes, trying to banish all stray thoughts, her mind repeatedly conjuring images of her increased Constitution!
’If I can just get to 29, I’ll be able to learn two Skills!’
"Here goes," she murmured, opening her eyes again. Her heart was pounding wildly in her chest.
She picked up the smooth, warm piece of pudding and gently placed it in her mouth.
The pudding melted the instant it touched her tongue. Its taste wasn’t cloyingly sweet as its appearance suggested; instead, it was a crisp, mellow flavor, as if the most sublime delicacy in the world were flowing gently across her taste buds.
Immediately after, a gentle yet immense power surged from her stomach, spreading rapidly through her entire body.
Seraphina Sinclair closed her eyes, feeling as if her body was submerged in a warm spring. Every cell seemed to be cheering, exulting.
She could distinctly feel her body changing. It was an unmistakable sensation of growing stronger. While previous rewards had also granted her attribute points, she had never experienced anything like this.
A soft light faintly radiated from within Seraphina Sinclair’s body, shimmering in concert with the glow from the rest of the pudding.
A few wisps of silver light, like playful motes of dust, swirled around her for a moment before slowly sinking into her skin and vanishing.
The entire process took less than a minute.
When all the phenomena subsided, Seraphina Sinclair opened her eyes with a hint of trepidation.
To her surprise, no notification panel appeared before her.
’That doesn’t seem like a good sign.’
Seraphina Sinclair took a deep breath and opened her personal page.
Her Strength had increased by one point, bringing it to an even 30.
But her Constitution...
Seraphina Sinclair’s breath caught in her throat, her pupils constricting slightly.
27.
Still 27!
’All five attribute points, and not a single one went to Constitution!’
A wave of icy disappointment gripped her heart, leaving her almost breathless. She stared at the glaring number, checking it again and again, hoping she had misread it.
But the Attributes panel clearly showed:
[Strength: 30]
[Constitution: 27]
’One point went to Strength, so the other four...’ She quickly scanned her other Attributes. Her agility hadn’t changed, so that only left...
[Intelligence: 29]
Seraphina Sinclair: "..."
She stared at the prominent "29" next to her Intelligence attribute, momentarily unsure what expression to even make.
’Four attribute points, and all of them went to Intelligence!’
’What was that supposed to mean?’
’Did the Moonlight Pudding hear my desperate wish for Constitution and then... pointedly ignore it?’
A sense of absurdity diluted her initial disappointment.
She squeezed her eyes shut, took a deep breath, and forced herself to calm down.
’The attribute distribution is set in stone. There’s no use dwelling on it.’
She focused her attention back on the panel and noticed a new section had appeared:
[Blessing: Kiss of the Moonlight (Time remaining: one hour)]
Puzzled, Seraphina Sinclair tapped on it.
[Kiss of the Moonlight (Blessing)]
[Description: The pure Moonlight within the Moonlight Pudding resonated with you, bestowing upon you a temporary blessing from the moon. This Blessing will manifest as a gentle power, temporarily infusing your body.]
[Effect: Constitution +2 (Temporary, lasts one hour. Activates automatically upon reading the Description!)]
When she saw the words "Temporary Constitution +2," Seraphina Sinclair froze for a second before a flash of understanding lit up her eyes.
’Even though it’s just a temporary boost...’
As she read the message, the Blessing’s effect activated automatically.
A cool, gentle power welled up from nowhere, flowing through her entire body like liquid Moonlight.
Her body, which had felt heavy and weary from the disappointing attribute distribution, suddenly felt lighter, and her breathing grew easier.
She immediately looked at her Attributes panel—
[Constitution: 27 (+2)]
The bright red plus sign seemed to carry a warmth of its own, instantly smoothing out the worries creasing her heart.
"So that’s where it was hiding..."
She murmured to herself, the corners of her lips unconsciously turning up.
This unexpected surprise washed away her earlier disappointment.
It was only a temporary stat boost, and it only lasted an hour, but a Constitution of 29 was enough to meet the threshold for learning those two Skills!
Without a moment’s hesitation, Seraphina Sinclair accessed her Silver Moon Earrings. After rummaging around for a bit, she pulled out two Skill Books that were identical in every way except for the words on their covers.
One was [Skill Book—Basic Knife Skill (D-level)]! The other was [Skill Book—Basic Concealment (D-level)]!
Seraphina Sinclair looked at the identical covers of the two Skill Books and their strikingly similar descriptions, and her lip twitched.
’Whoever made these was really cutting corners. It’s obvious they didn’t want to create new skills, so they just pumped out a whole series.’
’There must be other basic skills besides these two.’
But this wasn’t the time for complaints.
Seraphina Sinclair took a deep breath and picked up the *Basic Knife Skill* book first.
The instant her fingertips touched the cover, the Skill Book dissolved into a stream of light and flowed into her body.
Almost instantly, knowledge regarding the fundamental applications of knife skills, techniques for generating force, and simple methods for slashing and parrying surfaced in her mind like a gentle stream, as if she had already practiced them a thousand times over.
At the same time, the countless battles she had previously reviewed replayed in her mind. The memories themselves hadn’t changed in the slightest, but the difference was—
—the Seraphina Sinclair of now could tell at a single glance where her former self had gone wrong, or what she could have done better!
[Skill Learned: Basic Knife Skill (D-level)]
This feeling of instant enlightenment was utterly intoxicating.
She could even feel her scalp relax, as if a cool breeze had swept through her mind, clearing away all the dust.
Countless combat details were reinterpreted, corrected, and optimized. Previously fuzzy trajectories of force became sharp and clear, and once-clumsy transitions were now seamlessly perfected...
