Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 274: Moonlight Pudding
Chapter 274: Chapter 274: Moonlight Pudding
Seraphina Sinclair didn’t want to dwell on him, and with that thought, she pulled her focus back.
This was indeed the first personal event she had encountered, but before this, there had been a Zone-wide event. What was it called again?
Seraphina Sinclair tilted her head, thinking for a moment.
The first thing that came to mind was the Hundred-Eyed Rotfiend, but then she remembered the event’s name: the Migration of the Moonlight Jellyfish.
For that event, the system had invited all the survivors to witness a visual feast, and afterward...
Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes suddenly lit up. It had also given out attribute points as a reward!
’This is an event too, so... where’s the reward?!’
The thought had barely formed when Seraphina saw the pile of charred remains on the ground dissolve into motes of light and vanish. In their place was a circle of Supply Boxes. In the very center of the circle sat a delicate little box that looked somewhat familiar.
Thanks to what Mountainwind had told her, Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t flustered when she saw this strange scene.
’So what Mountainwind encountered really was a special event. Looks like these special events are pretty common.’
Seraphina Sinclair didn’t rush to open the boxes. She stood and counted them: a total of five F-level Supply Boxes, two E-level Supply Boxes, and one D-level Supply Box in the circle.
’In terms of Supply Boxes, the reward isn’t that generous.’
’But what makes a special event *special* is...’
Seraphina Sinclair’s gaze shifted to the small box. ’...this reward. This is what makes it a special event, right?’
Her eyes focused on the delicate little box.
It was only then that she realized the small box was identical to the ones the waiter used to bring her food.
She walked forward, ignoring the Supply Boxes, and picked up the small box directly.
The box felt slightly heavy in her hand, with a peculiar texture.
The moment she opened the lid, a soft light spilled out.
That was no exaggeration. Seraphina Sinclair stared blankly at the glowing pudding inside the box, its soft light illuminating her face and casting an unreal aura.
The pudding was a translucent, milky white. Inside, tiny motes of stardust seemed to swirl and sparkle slowly, emitting an alluringly sweet fragrance unlike any food she had ever seen before.
[Moonlight Pudding (B-level)]
[Description: Yes! You’re not seeing things, it’s glowing. A wondrous dessert made from pure Moonlight and the essence of a B-level monster. Consumption will randomly increase five attribute points and has a chance to grant a temporary moon-related Blessing. Only effective upon first consumption!]
[Note: This item cannot be traded and can only be consumed by its recipient.]
Seraphina Sinclair’s breath hitched as she read the Description.
’A B-level food! Randomly adds five attribute points!’
’Is this for real?’
That was Seraphina Sinclair’s first reaction.
She had eaten D-level food before—food that the waiter had meticulously prepared—and even that had increased her Attributes by less than one point.
’There’s only a two-level difference between B-level and D-level food. Could the effect really be that drastically different?’
Seraphina Sinclair suppressed her excitement. Instead of eating it immediately, she took out the card the waiter had given her and snapped it.
Whether it was to show off or to confirm the information, Seraphina Sinclair needed the waiter to pay a visit.
The moment the card snapped, a familiar golden light flashed, and the waiter appeared silently inside the mobile cabin, as if it had been there all along.
"Esteemed guest~ I’m delighted to be of service to you again."
The waiter bowed slightly. Its gaze swept over the unopened Supply Boxes in the room, but when it saw the softly glowing pudding in Seraphina Sinclair’s hand, its expression tensed.
Then, its jaw dropped to the floor.
To be honest, even though it was a common hyperbole, when the scene actually played out right before her eyes, Seraphina Sinclair couldn’t help but close them.
’I really feel like giving the waiter a bad review right now.’
’Seriously.’
Fortunately, the waiter had some semblance of professional decorum. It quickly composed itself, snatched its jaw off the floor, and pressed it back into place. After a soft cough and a rub of its stiff facial muscles, it put its standard smile back on, though the grin looked rather stiff.
"My apologies, esteemed guest."
The waiter’s voice was steady again, but if one listened closely, a nearly imperceptible tremor could be heard. "Please forgive my loss of composure. It’s just that this is... a Moonlight Pudding... This... this rare food is an extremely uncommon treasure, even in my long career of service. This is my first time seeing one, so I did indeed lose my composure."
Seraphina Sinclair stared at it expressionlessly. "So, its effect is real? A random five attribute points?"
"Absolutely, guest."
The waiter nodded gravely, its eyes filled with unconcealable envy.
"Of course, ordinary B-level food doesn’t have this kind of effect. But the Moonlight Pudding is different. Its ingredients should be clearly stated in the Description. This rare food shouldn’t have received a B-level Evaluation, but because one of its ingredients is B-level, the world’s rules assigned it a B-level Evaluation. If you were to sell it, its value would be absolutely... incalculable."
It paused, then added, "And for that very reason, it’s restricted to be consumed only by its recipient and cannot be traded."
Seraphina Sinclair understood.
The pudding’s effects were real, but its rarity was far beyond what she had imagined—so rare that even the worldly waiter was shocked into losing its composure.
"So, can I just eat it directly? Is there anything I need to be aware of? Or... a best time to consume it?" Seraphina Sinclair pressed.
For such a precious item, she had to be absolutely sure.
"You can consume it directly. All of its effects will activate."
The waiter replied, "As for the timing... there are no special requirements. However, if the guest wishes to guide the attribute distribution slightly, perhaps you could consume it while intensely focusing on a specific attribute. Of course, I cannot guarantee this will have any concrete effect. The final distribution is still random."
"I understand." Seraphina Sinclair now had a plan.
She glanced at the waiter. "Thank you for the explanation."
The waiter nodded, but its eyes never once left the glowing pudding in Seraphina Sinclair’s hand.
Just as it had said, it had never seen such a thing before. Naturally, it wanted to get a good look before the human ate it.
In fact, it wasn’t just looking. It had already secretly taken countless photos and recorded several thousand gigabytes of video.
This collection of photos and videos was something all chefs would kill to see!
And the waiter was keeping it all for its private collection.
At that moment, the waiter was incredibly glad it had given Seraphina Sinclair that card. It was also incredibly grateful that Seraphina Sinclair had snapped the card to summon it. And it was most grateful of all to its past self, who had seen the potential in Seraphina Sinclair’s talent and struck a deal with her!
After tearing its gaze away from the pudding with great difficulty, the waiter gave Seraphina Sinclair a deep bow.
