Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 191: Merchant Association President
Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Merchant Association President
"Now, you can die!"
She let out a low cry, pouring all her Strength into her arms. Planting her feet firmly in the sandy ground for leverage, she brutally twisted the spear, driving it deeper!
"SQUELCH!"
Foul-smelling blood sprayed out, mixed with the faint sound of shattering crystals!
The giant let out an earth-shattering, agonized howl. Its massive body began to tremble violently, its other two hands clawing madly at its chest, trying to rip Seraphina Sinclair out along with the fatal spear.
But Seraphina Sinclair had already started scrambling back the instant the giant began to struggle.
Her objective was achieved; she wasn’t stupid enough to just stand there and wait for the monster to attack her!
After a final, utterly unwilling roar, the Stitched Giant’s massive body suddenly went rigid. The light in its three yellow eyes quickly faded.
It crashed backward like a collapsing mountain, kicking up a cloud of dust and smoke.
The eighth wave was over.
The only thing Seraphina Sinclair had to worry about now was the Mental Pressure from the Single Lens.
’I’ve already used Insight three times. There are still two waves left, which means I can only use it one more time at most. What should I do?’
Seraphina Sinclair took a few steps forward and pulled her Water-Breaking Spear from the monster’s body.
The dust slowly settled, revealing the giant’s gradually stiffening corpse in the center of The Coliseum, and Seraphina Sinclair, standing alone, spear in hand.
The Abyssfrost Watersplitter Spear was pointed diagonally at the ground. From its azure tip, a single drop of dark red blood slowly trickled down.
The entire Coliseum fell into a dead silence.
All the spectators, including those who had been shouting the loudest before, were now as if choked, unable to make a single sound.
They stared at the figure in the arena, at her, at the B-level spear in her hand that radiated an ominous chill. A sense of absurdity and unease spread silently through the crowd.
Even on the high platform, the perpetually expressionless President’s fingers, resting on the armrest, twitched almost imperceptibly.
It looked at Seraphina Sinclair, its gaze profound, its thoughts unreadable.
The next moment, a tsunami of sound erupted!
This time, it wasn’t just pure mockery and curses. It was mixed with far more complex emotions—shock, fear, and even a hint of... fanaticism?
"She... she actually did it!"
"A B-level Weapon! She actually has a B-level Weapon!"
"The eighth wave... a monster stronger than E+ Level... She actually won!"
"A monster! This human is the real monster!"
"President! You can’t let her go!"
"Kill her! You have to kill her! Or she’ll become an endless source of trouble!"
Seraphina Sinclair turned a deaf ear to it all.
She just watched the President, the corners of her mouth slowly curling into a faint, yet bone-chilling, smile.
She was waiting.
Waiting to see its next move—to see if it would continue to pay out points, or if it would drop all pretenses and turn hostile.
But it merely stood up.
The President had risen.
’What does this mean?’
’Has it finally lost its patience and decided to enter the arena itself, or... is this duel about to reach its end?’
The clamor from the stands was instantly choked into silence, as if by an invisible hand.
All eyes focused on the figure that had risen, filled with awe, fear, and a hint of imperceptible excitement.
The President had only ever risen to quell a restless audience. This was the first time it had stood up for a gladiator!
It looked down upon The Coliseum from its high vantage point, its gaze still calm, but an invisible pressure descended as if it were tangible. It didn’t look at Seraphina Sinclair, but instead slowly swept its eyes over the entire Coliseum, which had gone from boiling over to dead silent.
Then, it raised its hand.
It didn’t point at Seraphina Sinclair, nor did it summon an even more terrifying monster.
It just made a simple gesture.
[The Coliseum is paused.]
The cold system prompt echoed through The Coliseum.
Seraphina Sinclair tightened her grip on the Abyssfrost Watersplitter Spear. Far from relaxing, she grew even more vigilant.
’Things this strange can’t be good.’
The President finally turned its gaze to Seraphina Sinclair in the arena.
Its gaze still held no anger, no killing intent, only a pure, almost ruthless scrutiny, as if it were assessing the final durability of a tool.
"Human, Blacktiger Ford?"
Its voice, tinged with authority, carried clearly to every corner of The Coliseum.
"You have proven your worth."
’Worth?’
Seraphina Sinclair sneered inwardly but showed no emotion on her face, merely watching it quietly, waiting for what came next.
"To continue this meaningless war of attrition would be a waste of the points invested."
The President’s voice was flat. "I propose we skip the ninth wave and have you challenge the tenth wave directly. If you can successfully defeat the tenth wave’s monster, I am willing to request the final grand prize for you. But of course, I will also be betting all of my points, so the monster you face will be one of unprecedented terror."
As its voice fell, a notification panel appeared before Seraphina Sinclair again.
[Do you accept the challenge issued by the "Merchant Association President"?]
[Warning: Once the challenge is accepted, you cannot withdraw from The Coliseum! Consuming a Substitute Death Item will grant one opportunity to withdraw! Upon successful completion of the challenge, the President will grant you the final reward!]
Seraphina Sinclair took a deep breath, suppressing the waves of dizziness caused by her mental exhaustion. Her gaze swept past the text on the panel to the sole standing figure in the audience.
It didn’t seem worried at all. Its gaze rested on Seraphina Sinclair, filled with a strange sense of anticipation.
’What is it anticipating?’
Seraphina Sinclair’s lips twisted into a cold smirk. ’Whatever it’s anticipating, I won’t let it get what it wants.’
’This so-called final reward—it will be mine!’
"I accept."
Her voice rang out clearly in The Coliseum, carrying a finality that cut off all paths of retreat.
[Challenge accepted.]
[Ninth wave challenge skipped.]
[Final Wave—the tenth wave challenge will now commence.]
[Warning: A massive injection of external points has been detected. Monster strength has exceeded normal limits, reaching a pseudo-D-level standard! Repeat, monster strength has reached a pseudo-D-level standard!]
[Good luck, nameless survivor. No, from the moment you accepted this challenge, your name has begun to quietly spread throughout The Black Mist World! Blacktiger Ford, I wish you success!]
"Wish me success..."
Seraphina Sinclair swapped her weapon for a long saber, her posture still ramrod straight!
She didn’t know what she was about to face, but she knew it definitely wouldn’t be easy to defeat.
Seraphina Sinclair plunged the long saber into the sand, took Potions out of her earring, and started chugging them!
This scene sent the audience into another uproar.
"How does this person still have Potions?!"
"It’s true that a survivor can learn more than one Skill, but Rune Master and Pharmacist are conflicting professions! This person just demonstrated rune painting, so she definitely knows how to paint runes. How could she also be a Pharmacist?"
"Then she must have come prepared. Is this what the number one human on the leaderboards is like? Truly terrifying."
After she had drunk all of the attribute potions she had traded for with Pretty Guardian, there was finally some movement in The Coliseum.
