Chapter 190: Chapter 190: It’s Enough

"That Skill Book? You’ve got to be kidding! It’s a reward, sure, but the number of points it requires is insane! How could a human ever actually get it?"

"If the President makes another move, with the points this human is accumulating, it might actually be possible."

"No way... Even if the President is willing to pay the points, can she really beat those monsters?"

"Don’t underestimate humans! That was the first lesson we learned. It seems you’ve all forgotten."

The discussion in the stands came to an abrupt halt. All the spectators quietly waited for the outcome of the fight in The Coliseum.

The result wasn’t decided, but every spectator knew this wave was a piece of cake for the human. Many who had bet on her failure were gritting their teeth, their anger growing as they watched Seraphina Sinclair’s nonchalant expression.

But the President, who had spent a great number of points, remained calm. Their gaze, as they watched Seraphina Sinclair, even held a hint of admiration.

When the flames died down, that wave of the battle was over.

The number of runes on Seraphina Sinclair hadn’t decreased; it had actually grown. She glanced toward the stands as if it were routine, only to see the President, expressionless, holding a card and paying for something.

’Fine. No more talking. Just upping the ante.’

The floor of The Coliseum began to shake.

Seraphina Sinclair suddenly grew excited. She tightened her grip on her long blade, ready for battle!

The shaking of The Coliseum floor grew more violent. Dust and debris rained down from the walls of rough-hewn stone.

The sandy ground roiled like boiling water, GURGLE-GURGLE, as large bubbles broke the surface. A thick, dark-red mist billowed out, carrying the nauseatingly sweet and coppery stench of rust mixed with putrid flesh!

The roar from the stands miraculously died down!

The gazes of all the spectators—whether filled with greed, anger, fear, or pure anticipation—were locked onto the slender yet upright figure in the center of the arena.

[The eighth wave of the challenge is about to begin.]

[Warning: A large injection of external points has been detected. Monster strength has exceeded the normal upper limit for the E+ Level.]

[Good luck, nameless survivor.]

The notification panel flashed and disappeared.

In the center of the churning marsh of blood, a massive mound suddenly bulged upward before violently erupting!

Amidst a spray of viscous gore and shredded flesh, a colossal figure slowly rose to its feet.

It was a giant, roughly twice the height of a man!

Its skin was a deathly gray-white, covered in twisted stitch marks. The stitches were crude, haphazardly piecing together chunks of corpses.

Its head was abnormally massive, with no nose or ears. There was only a gaping mouth, filled with layers upon layers of sharp teeth, that stretched nearly ear to ear, and above it, three murky yellow eyes sat side-by-side on its forehead.

After a brief glance, Seraphina Sinclair used Insight.

[Stitched Giant (E+ Level)]

[Description: Although it has not reached true D-level standards, its monstrous strength, defense, and weak Magic-like abilities far exceed the E-level scope! Although its skin is flesh and blood, it has resistances that flesh and blood do not, with absolute immunity to burning from fire! Absolute immunity to the light of special items! If you are unlucky enough to encounter it now... Run! Even if it means abandoning your mobile cabin, RUN!]

[Weakness: Its core energy source is located inside its chest cavity. The monster will die instantly if the energy source is destroyed! But be warned, the monster’s defense is extremely high. Even the relatively weak stitched areas are incredibly tough!]

The information from Insight made Seraphina Sinclair’s heart tighten.

’Immune to fire? Immune to the light of special items?’

’This is a blatant counter, isn’t it?!’

’I used the Heavenly Light Rune and the Fire Drawing Rune last wave, so this wave they just went and cooked up this kind of monster!’

’Great. Just great!’

But as luck would have it, Seraphina Sinclair happened to have an armor-breaking weapon.

She took a step back, and her gaze swept provocatively over the stands, pausing for a moment on the face of the ever-calm President.

Provocation, disdain, and a near-feverish excitement!

All these emotions burned in her eyes, shining with startling brightness.

Just that one look instantly ignited the audience, which had just fallen silent!

"What is she doing now?"

"How dare she be so arrogant in the face of death!"

"Stitched Giant! Tear her to pieces!"

Amidst the seething uproar, the Stitched Giant let out a muffled roar.

Its three cloudy yellow eyes locked onto Seraphina Sinclair. It stomped its massive foot, and the entire Coliseum trembled! It looked clumsy, but its charging speed was terrifyingly fast, like a gray-white mountain of flesh bearing down with a suffocating, foul wind!

But Seraphina Sinclair just unhurriedly took out a spear.

’The closer the monster charges, the more accurate the Abyssfrost Watersplitter Spear’s strike will be! And the more accurate the strike, the better the Armor-breaking Effect.’

She raised the spear high, completely unafraid of the monster’s charge.

The spectators roared, screamed, and clamored for the monster to tear Seraphina Sinclair to shreds!

This was the kind of show they loved to watch! Flesh and blood flying, life fading away, as if this could make them temporarily forget the fact that they themselves were not alive!

"Is she scared stiff? I thought she was supposed to be the top-ranked champion? She’s nothing special!"

"What’s that in her hand? Does she think switching to a pointy weapon will be enough to pierce the Stitched Giant’s defense?! Too naive!"

"Have you guys even looked closely?! The glow from that weapon in her hand, that color... it’s a B-level Weapon!"

"A B-level Weapon? How could a B-level Weapon appear this early?"

Amidst the increasingly frantic roars and doubts from the audience, the muscles in Seraphina Sinclair’s arm suddenly tensed, and the Abyssfrost Watersplitter Spear shot through the air with a bone-chilling cold!

A stream of azure light precisely sank into the Stitched Giant’s chest cavity—the exact location of the core pointed out by Insight!

SQUELCH—

A dull thud sounded as the weapon sank into flesh.

The giant’s colossal, charging body came to a sudden halt. The Water-Breaking Spear quivered, having effortlessly pierced its defenses to embed itself within its body!

"ROAR!!!"

The giant let out a roar of pain and fury. Its three yellow eyes trembled violently from the agony, and its body was forced to a halt.

It tried to reach out and pull out the spear, but how could Seraphina Sinclair give it that chance?!

Her figure, like an arrow loosed from a bowstring, shot forward instead of retreating, straight toward the behemoth! Pushing off with her feet, she recklessly grabbed the Abyssfrost Watersplitter Spear.

Gasps of disbelief erupted from the stands.

Seraphina Sinclair was deaf to everything around her. Her eyes were fixed only on the Abyssfrost Watersplitter Spear, still quivering slightly where it was embedded in the giant’s chest, and she shoved it forward with all her might!

The giant swung its massive palm, bringing with it a foul gust of wind, attempting to swat the annoying insect on its chest and crush it.

But Seraphina Sinclair was already prepared. The second before the giant’s palm struck, she activated Micro Light Protection!

It could completely block a single fatal blow, regardless of its type.

For Seraphina Sinclair now, the sliver of time it bought her was more than enough!
