Even Seraphina Sinclair, currently number one on the leaderboard, wasn’t confident she could escape this monster unscathed.

’Does that mean everyone else can only wait for death?’

Seraphina Sinclair had clearly forgotten one thing.

Her daily travel distance was always greater than others—by the equivalent of one extra tube of nutrient liquid!

The monsters that came with the black fog grew stronger the farther one advanced, their power also influenced by the distance between a survivor and the dead.

Because Seraphina Sinclair moved every day and traveled especially far, she naturally encountered monsters that were much stronger than anyone else’s!

In other words, other people didn’t have this problem at all!

If Seraphina Sinclair had the time to open the regional channel right now, she would find that the so-called "stronger monsters" everyone was complaining about were actually just the E-level monsters she was already used to.

The farther you went, the stronger the monsters you encountered!

The black fog was silent, but in this respect, it was absolutely fair.

All these thoughts flashed through her mind in an instant. Seraphina Sinclair tore the rune and struck first!

The moment the rune was torn, an indescribable heat and light suddenly erupted!

This was no flickering, unstable flame from a Fire Drawing Rune, but a solid, brilliant, almost platinum-gold fireball that appeared out of thin air like a miniature sun, floating before Seraphina Sinclair.

Its dazzling light instantly dispelled more than half of the thick black fog that had flooded the small cabin, lifting the suffocating sense of oppression.

Then, under Seraphina Sinclair’s control, it flew straight toward the monster!

"SKREEEEEE!!!"

The enormous Hundred-Eyed Rotfiend clearly couldn’t stand the sudden, intense light and searing heat.

The dozens of eyes of various sizes on its body trembled and contracted violently. The surfaces of some of the more fragile eyeballs even emitted a faint SIZZLE, as if they were being scorched.

Then, the monster’s huge body, made of pale bones and rotting flesh, jerked backward violently. It let out a pained and furious roar, and much of the black slime dripping from its writhing flesh evaporated.

The brilliant Heavenly Light, purging all Malevolence!

The effect of the Heavenly Light Rune far exceeded expectations!

Seraphina Sinclair’s fighting style had always been rather extreme.

Others saved their ultimate moves for when a monster was on the verge of death, but she always used her strongest skill right from the start! And then...

Of course, she’d press the advantage!

Without the slightest hesitation, Seraphina Sinclair took advantage of the moment the monster was disabled, her body lunging forward like a cheetah.

She gripped her longsword tightly in her left hand, the tip angled toward the ground!

Her target was crystal clear: the relatively fragile eyeballs exposed by the monster’s pain!

This was the monster’s second weakness, as indicated by Insight.

If she succeeded, the monster would be nothing but a lamb to the slaughter, waiting for Seraphina Sinclair to execute it!

But the D-level monster’s reaction speed far exceeded her expectations.

Just as Seraphina Sinclair charged in front of it, the Hundred-Eyed Rotfiend, though still in agony from the flames, suddenly swept a huge limb toward her with a foul gust of wind!

This strike wasn’t precisely timed; it was more of a blind counterattack driven by its instinctual perception of a living being’s aura and its own rage.

But it was too fast! The range was too great!

Seraphina Sinclair’s pupils constricted. It was too late to halt her forward momentum.

She twisted her body abruptly, bringing her longsword up to block in front and to the side, while simultaneously pushing off with her feet in a desperate attempt to retreat.

"THUD!"

A heavy, muffled sound echoed within the small cabin.

The tip of the bony limb didn’t hit Seraphina Sinclair directly, but she couldn’t completely avoid the immense force of the swing or the foul-smelling, viscous black liquid that splashed from it.

Seraphina Sinclair felt an irresistible, immense force slam into the blade. The webbing of her hand instantly split open, and blood gushed out. The longsword nearly flew from her grasp, and the impact sent her stumbling backward.

Worse, a few drops of the dark, viscous, and highly corrosive venom splashed onto her left arm and shoulder!

"TSS!"

Her clothes were instantly corroded through. The venom that touched her skin immediately gave off white smoke, and a heart-piercing, bone-chilling pain shot through her.

Corrosion.

Seraphina Sinclair let out a muffled groan, cold sweat beading on her temples.

Forcing herself to endure the intense pain, she used her backward momentum to roll awkwardly across the ground, quickly creating distance.

She looked like a complete mess, but Seraphina Sinclair had actually already figured out a way to save herself. She even had the presence of mind to genuinely feel bad for her clothes.

’Seriously... can’t the clothes in this godforsaken place be repaired daily like the floor?’

’Not a single piece of clothing I’ve worn has managed to last a week!’

’It’s outrageous!’

Seraphina Sinclair glanced down at her left arm. The area splashed by the venom had already turned black, and waves of intense pain washed over her, making it almost impossible to use the limb.

The Heavenly Light Rune’s effect was still active, but the Hundred-Eyed Rotfiend seemed to be getting used to the searing flames, or perhaps, it had simply been thoroughly enraged.

Its unburned eyes once again locked onto Seraphina Sinclair. A teeth-grinding gurgle came from its writhing flesh, and more black venom seeped out from the crevices of its rotting meat, dripping to the floor.

Then, it began to slowly but determinedly close in on Seraphina Sinclair again.

The bony limb that had just attacked was raised again, poised to smash down!

This time, its target was clear: to completely crush the source that had harmed it and was emitting that hateful light!

Seraphina Sinclair sighed silently and, without missing a beat, teleported into the bathroom.

’If I can’t beat it, can’t I at least outrun it? If you’ve got the guts, come in here and get me.’

’The Heavenly Light Rune lasts for twenty-five minutes. If I can’t kill this monster in one go, I’ll just have to try a few more times!’

’I’ll wear it down to death!’

After giving herself a little pep talk, she still couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath from the pain.

Thankfully, all her items were in the Silver Moon Earrings, so she didn’t have to risk her life looking for supplies.

Seraphina Sinclair leaned against the wall and, using her right hand as if she were arranging someone else’s arm, repositioned her left arm before taking out an Advanced Medical Kit.

’I’ve had this for a while, but this is the first time I’ve actually had to use it.’

Seraphina Sinclair endured the intense pain and weakness in her left arm, using her still-dexterous right hand to flip open the lid.

A soft blue beam of light instantly shot out from it, quickly scanning Seraphina Sinclair’s entire body like a scanner before finally focusing on the wounds on her left arm and shoulder.

A panel immediately popped up in front of Seraphina Sinclair.

’Just reading those terms is terrifying.’

Seraphina Sinclair covered her eyes with her right hand and grumbled, "Stop with the useless talk and just start the treatment..."
