Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Soft Plush Homewear

’What?’

Seraphina read the description again carefully. Once she was sure she hadn’t misread it, she grew excited.

The item’s function was obvious—it was a substitute for all seasonings!

Ever since entering The Black Mist World, Seraphina hadn’t found a single seasoning, aside from the flavor packet in some instant noodles and the soup base from a Self-heating Hot Pot.

With this, she could finally say goodbye to bland, tasteless food!

As Seraphina was about to test it out, she noticed it required an Energy Block. Speaking of which...

Seraphina’s gaze fell to the floor. After the Supply Box was opened, the box itself had vanished, leaving its contents arranged on the floorboards.

The third item from the D-level Supply Box was exactly that: a compressed energy block!

[Compressed Energy Block (D-level)]

[Description: A highly purified and compressed energy aggregate, stable and efficient. Can be used as a power source for certain high-level equipment, weapons, or facilities. One block is enough to provide considerable and lasting power. It can also be used for trade, acting as a somewhat abstract form of stable currency!]

Seraphina didn’t know if it could really be used as currency. To her, right now, it was a universal battery!

The Supply Box had provided five of them, and currently, the only thing she owned that could use one was the seasoning box.

Not one to overthink it, Seraphina picked up a block and installed it in the seasoning box. She then took out a piece of bread from her Silver Moon Earrings, and after a moment of consideration while holding the box, she used its recommended flavor template to make a savory soy-flavored bread.

She took a tentative bite, and her expression turned strange.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the taste itself. She had chosen the savory soy flavor, and that’s exactly what she got.

The problem was that the flavor was only on the surface. If she tasted it carefully, all she could discern underneath was the flavor of the bread itself.

That made it feel a bit useless.

Seraphina fiddled with the seasoning box for a moment, then she noticed a line of small text near the Energy Block slot: "A single Energy Block provides enough power for a full year of daily use!"

’Daily use must mean three times a day, right?’

’In that case, this thing is actually pretty decent.’

’Better than nothing.’

Still, her initial excitement had faded. She looked at the palm-sized, simply designed metal box with mixed feelings.

It wasn’t useless—it could certainly improve her quality of life. But was it truly useful? In this apocalypse, where survival was a day-to-day struggle and monsters lurked everywhere, a delicious meal was far less practical than a weapon or a useful tool.

She shook her head, put away the seasoning box and the Energy Blocks, and picked up the piece of clothing with both hands.

The moment she touched it, an indescribable softness enveloped her fingertips. It was delicate and warm, like holding a cloud that had been basking in the sunshine.

The clothing was so light it felt almost weightless, yet it strangely imparted a sense of being securely protected.

Seraphina could already imagine how comfortable it would be to wear.

She looked closer. It was a set of simple, elegant loungewear made from a type of fleece she had never seen before, its surface holding an extremely soft and subdued sheen.

Seraphina subconsciously stroked the cloth. It felt slightly cool to the touch, but the moment it made contact with her skin, that coolness transformed into a pleasant warmth. Such a scientifically impossible phenomenon seemed perfectly normal in this world.

She raised an eyebrow slightly and used Insight on the loungewear.

[Soft Fleece Loungewear (D-level)]

[Description: As delicate and soft as a cloud, it feels light against the skin yet holds a lasting warmth. Precision-woven from a special fleece material, it features a microclimate circulation system that automatically regulates body temperature, making one impervious to day-night temperature fluctuations! The surface is coated with an anti-stain film that repels water and oil; daily stains can be flicked away with a single tap! The lining is reinforced with flexible protective fibers, effectively mitigating impacts and abrasions. Specially designed for rest in harsh environments, it is a rare piece of apocalyptic home equipment that combines high comfort with practicality.]

’Home equipment?’

Seraphina didn’t agree with that term at all.

’Besides looking like loungewear, what part of this is loungewear?’

’Look at these features!’

’"Automatically regulates body temperature," "repels water and oil, stain-resistant," and "effectively mitigates impacts and abrasions"—aren’t these all features for outdoor gear?’

’How could something with such amazing features be just a piece of loungewear?’

Seraphina felt a pang of frustration, like she was "hating iron for not becoming steel." She held the clothing, about to change, when she suddenly realized the cabin was still moving. And...

’The next wave of black mist is about to pour in.’

Seraphina immediately shot to her feet, stuffed her new treasures into her Silver Moon Earrings, and huddled in a corner with her longsword, waiting for the second wave of black mist.

The monsters were unexpectedly active today.

An E-level monster entered the mobile cabin with this wave of black mist.

She had used almost all her Purifying Flame Runes on those two Six-Armed Corruptors. She only had one left, but that was more than enough to deal with a single E-level monster.

Staring at the figure writhing in the moon-white flames, Seraphina calculated how many sheets of rune paper she could prepare in the next twenty minutes of downtime.

’I don’t need too many, one or two should be enough. Surely today won’t be filled with groups of E-level monsters, right?’

’That would be too strange.’

’Even if the system was starting to ramp up the monster difficulty, it wouldn’t increase it this drastically all at once, would it?’

With that thought, she opened the regional channel to take a look.

"Damn it! Four F-level monsters! I can’t beat them! They’ve already torn down half of my mobile cabin! Why won’t they just die already!"

"Does anyone have anything for healing? I’ll trade E-level materials for it! My arm’s been sliced wide open!"

"Hahaha! I killed it! Got an E-level box drop! And pulled a great weapon from it!"

"@person above, you’re a legend! Let me be your follower!"

"@the person two posts up, what weapon? Post the details, let’s see it!"

"Only an idiot would post it. You can guess for yourself."

The channel was filled with fear, despair, relief from close calls, and the ecstasy of the very few who were victorious.

Seraphina silently closed the channel and stopped paying attention.

It seemed the difficulty increase was universal. No matter when someone started moving, the strength of the monsters they encountered had likely been raised.

Seraphina was genuinely puzzled.

’This didn’t happen after the last dungeon ended.’

’Is the system planning something big?’

Seraphina mused as the monster continued to writhe in the flames.

From a certain angle, the scene was surprisingly harmonious.

After the monster died, it left an E-level Supply Box in its place.

Seraphina quickly extinguished the fire on the floor, then casually opened the Supply Box before finally turning her attention to drawing a few more Purifying Flame Runes.

After laying out her materials, her gaze inadvertently drifted to the notification panel, where she suddenly spotted a familiar name—Expansion Crystal.

’Expansion Crystal?’

Seraphina froze, pulling the panel closer to take a better look.
