Seraphina Sinclair stood perfectly still, her gaze fixed on the enormous figures. She appeared resolute and composed.

In reality, she felt completely screwed.

Two E-level monsters were no longer a big deal for her; E-level runes could take care of them easily.

But these were two E+ monsters!

What’s more, if she kept moving, she would probably run into D-level monsters. As she was now, facing a D-level monster, Seraphina had no choice but to fight for her life.

Then, as if a thought struck her, a brilliant light suddenly flared in her eyes.

’If two F-level monsters appearing together drop an E-level Supply Box... then won’t two E-level monsters appearing together drop a D-level Supply Box?’

’Even if it’s one of the lousier ones, it’s still a D-level Supply Box!’

She quickly suppressed her excitement, her gaze turning sharp.

Without hesitation, Seraphina Sinclair whipped out two Purifying Flame Runes, tore them, and directed the flames to charge at the two monsters.

The moon-white Cold Flame ignited silently, like living serpents, pouncing on each of the two monsters.

SIZZLE! SIZZLE!

The grating sound of corrosion erupted simultaneously with the monsters’ agonized roars.

The moon-white flames seemed especially effective against these types of corruptor monsters. The moment they made contact, they began to violently "purify" their bodies, releasing thick black smoke that was then devoured by the fire.

But these E+ Level monsters were clearly in a different league from the Memory Eater!

Though their bodies were rapidly dissolving, the intense pain only stoked their ferocity.

The two Six-Armed Corruptors wildly swung their bone-spike arms, rampaging through the room, seemingly oblivious to the flames burning on their bodies.

The black fog was still there, so they couldn’t find Seraphina Sinclair’s position. But the cabin was cramped, and the monsters’ reach was immense.

With their reach negating her cover, Seraphina had nowhere to run!

Seraphina’s pupils contracted. The combat instincts she had honed over the past few days made her react in an instant.

She threw herself into a backward roll, narrowly avoiding the bone spike’s attack.

But the other monster’s arm was already sweeping toward her!

In the nick of time, Seraphina raised the Refined Long Saber clutched in her right hand to block!

CLANG!

The Bone Spike and the long saber collided with a piercing screech.

Immense force traveled up the long saber, making Seraphina’s wrist go numb. The impact sent her staggering back several steps, and her back slammed hard against the wall.

This was Seraphina’s first time clashing head-on with one of these things; its sheer size meant its strength was not to be underestimated.

’If it weren’t for the five extra points of Strength from the long saber, I doubt I could have blocked that blow at all!’

The Six-Armed Corruptor had clearly put its full power into that strike.

It clearly hadn’t expected a human to be able to withstand its full-power strike. Though it was still pressing down with the Bone Spike, it was clearly stunned!

Seraphina seized the opportunity while it was stunned. Bracing her back against the wall for leverage, she kicked it hard in the torso. Just as she was about to press her attack, the other one closed in.

’This is the helplessness of fighting two on one!’

Seraphina’s expression soured, but for safety’s sake, she had to give up the opening. She rolled away, vanishing once more into the swirling black fog.

She tried to muffle her ragged breaths. The hand gripping the saber trembled slightly, and a sharp, stinging pain shot through the webbing of her thumb.

’A head-on clash is a terrible idea. These two are much stronger than I expected.’

’In a straight fight, I’m the one at a clear disadvantage.’

The Purifying Flame Runes were still burning. Large, charred pits had been seared into the bodies of the two Six-Armed Corruptors, and their movements were noticeably slower, but their frenzy hadn’t diminished in the slightest.

’Since I can’t overpower them, I’ll just have to use my items!’

Gritting her teeth, Seraphina took out all the Purifying Flame Runes she had crafted.

’One isn’t enough? Then I’ll use two!’

’Two aren’t enough? I have a third!’

’And when I run out of Purifying Flame Runes, I have Fire Drawing Runes!’

’As long as I’m willing to pay the price, I can keep using runes. Can these two monsters really stay this frenzied forever?’

A ruthless glint flashed in Seraphina’s eyes, and she hesitated no longer.

Clutching a Purifying Flame Rune in each hand, she tore them open again!

An even greater surge of moon-white Cold Flame burst forth. Like two roaring fire dragons, it pounced precisely on the two Six-Armed Corruptors that were still flailing their arms wildly.

This time, the power of the flames seemed to undergo a qualitative change.

The Purifying Flame already burning on the monsters seemed to have been injected with new fuel. The blaze instantly intensified, almost completely engulfing them!

Their bloodcurdling shrieks were so piercing they nearly shattered her eardrums.

The two monsters’ movements abruptly froze. Like candles, their bodies began to melt and collapse at a rate visible to the naked eye.

Thick black smoke billowed out, only to be ruthlessly purified and dissipated by the pure, moon-white flames.

They could no longer maintain their frenzied attacks, reduced to nothing more than instinct-driven, powerless twitches and whimpers.

Seraphina tightened her grip on her long saber, holding her breath. She stared intently at the changes within the flames, not daring to let her guard down for a second.

In a mere seven or eight seconds, the two enormous Six-Armed Corruptors were utterly annihilated by the intensely purifying flames, leaving not a single trace behind.

All that remained on the ground were two pools of even more viscous, corrosive slime and a faintly glowing Supply Box.

The box was clearly larger. It was a deep, mysterious purple, its surface seemingly roiling with dark currents. It looked extraordinary.

Seraphina leaned in for a closer look. A D-level Supply Box!

Success!

Seraphina let out a long sigh, her taut nerves finally relaxing. Only then did she clearly feel the dull ache where her back had hit the wall and the sharp, tearing pain in the webbing of her hand.

Ignoring her spoils for the moment, she first walked over to the two pools of slime, expertly scooped them up, and fed them to the eagerly waiting Sunflower.

The Sunflower’s satisfied thoughts reached her as its leaves swayed gently in delight.

Seraphina wiped the sweat from her forehead with her wrist, went to the bathroom to clean herself up, and only then came back to open the box.
