Supreme Warrior in the City
Chapter 2868 - 2868: Creation of Heaven and Earth?
Time rushed by; roughly eight hundred years had passed.
Throughout all this time, Su Yang had remained within that Star Domain, observing the changes taking place there.
The tiny point of light had now grown into a gigantic Light Ball. Inside the Light Ball, a small object had appeared, something like a silken cocoon.
Su Yang couldn't see what was inside the cocoon, but it had absorbed an enormous amount of Spiritual Energy; clearly, whatever was within absolutely wasn't simple—most likely it was gestating some sort of powerful existence.
On this day, while Su Yang was seated in quiet meditation, he suddenly sensed a fluctuation from that Light Ball.
Su Yang immediately opened his eyes and looked carefully, only to see the Light Ball trembling continuously, as if something within was about to break free.
Su Yang's spirits lifted at once. After waiting for more than eight hundred years, the thing inside the Light Ball was finally about to come out!
The Light Ball quivered again and again, and with each tremor, part of its radiance faded away.
In the end, all of the light vanished completely, revealing a colossal cocoon. Layer upon layer of white mist wrapped around it, and no one could tell what lay within.
Su Yang fixed his gaze on that cocoon. He did not move at all, merely waited with patience.
The cocoon slowly circled near the Long Axe for a while, and then, suddenly, a tiny bulge appeared on its surface, as if something inside had pressed against that spot.
Su Yang's eyes widened at once. The thing inside this cocoon was finally coming out!
That tiny bulge at first only probed and nudged, as though feeling out the cocoon's form, and then fell still again.
Su Yang waited patiently. After a long while, another bulge appeared on the cocoon's exterior. This time, however, it did not withdraw; it kept pushing upward, as if intent on breaking through the cocoon.
Holding his breath, Su Yang did not dare make the slightest sound, afraid he would disturb the process.
The cocoon's toughness was remarkable, yet in the end it still could not endure. The bulge forced open a small hole, and from within the cocoon a tiny, plump little finger stretched out.
Su Yang's eyes went wide. That finger looked just like a human finger!
He still did not move, continuing to watch in utter silence.
After the finger extended, it immediately shrank back inside, as if startled by the sudden change in its surroundings.
But a moment later, that finger again slowly reached out. It swept twice through the Void, as if finding it amusing, and actually began to wiggle back and forth nonstop in midair.
Su Yang found it intriguing and did not interrupt, just stared from the side.
After a very long time, the finger seemed to grow bored with its game and came to a halt. It then probed farther out, as if searching for something.
The cocoon slowly rotated with this motion, and at last, the finger turned toward the Long Axe side, gently touching the Long Axe.
In that instant, the Long Axe transformed directly into a streak of light and shot into the cocoon.
Su Yang's heart lurched. The Long Axe's power was terrifying—could this cause some kind of accident?
He hurried over and peered inside through that small hole on the cocoon's surface.
Su Yang had originally assumed that the cocoon contained nothing more than a child or some other living creature.
But with this single glance, Su Yang realized that what lay within the cocoon was far beyond his expectations.
Inside the cocoon was actually a vast expanse of mist. He had no idea how wide the area stretched; even with Su Yang's level of strength, he could not see the cocoon's limits.
And in the midst of that endless mist, there was a tiny black dot.
Su Yang stared intently at the black dot and discovered that it was slowly growing larger.
Finally, the dot's outline took shape—it was a little figure. The little figure gripped an axe in his hand, standing within that boundless fog as though he were the only existence in the world.
The little figure seemed to be observing something, or perhaps pondering something. After a long time, he suddenly raised the Long Axe in his hand and hacked fiercely in all directions.
With that strike, the vast mist was instantly cleaved in two. One stream, paler in color, flew upward, while the other, darker in hue, slowly sank downward.
And within the cocoon, things grew clearer; Su Yang was finally able to see the situation inside.
Though the cocoon didn't look large from the outside, within it there was a whole world of its own. It resembled a Great World, incomparably vast.
It seemed this cocoon was actually a Space Artifact of Divine Artifact level!
All of a sudden, the mist above and the mist below began slowly drifting toward the middle again, as if they meant to recombine.
At that moment, the little figure lifted both hands and forcibly propped up the mist above. At the same time, his feet pressed downward, stomping the mist below further down.
The two currents of mist were blocked and could no longer converge. The little figure stood between them, unable to move.
Su Yang's brows furrowed slightly as he hesitated over whether to go in and lend a hand. Then he noticed that the figure's body was gradually growing larger, and the distance between the two currents of mist was also ever widening.
This sight left Su Yang utterly stunned. He couldn't help but recall the Earth legend of Pangu splitting heaven and earth.
The scene inside this cocoon was astonishingly similar to that legend on Earth.
Yet the little figure within, and that Long Axe, were clearly from some civilization birthed by a previous World Tree, entirely unrelated to their own World Tree. Why then did this situation so closely resemble the legends of Earth?
With these doubts in mind, Su Yang simply stayed, continuing to observe everything inside the cocoon.
The figure inside the cocoon kept growing larger, and the two masses of mist separated ever further.
The cocoon itself showed no change, but Su Yang could see that the inner space was constantly being stretched.
This cocoon must be a powerful Space Artifact similar to the World Melting Furnace. In fact, the space within it might even be vaster than that of the World Melting Furnace.
A hundred years swept by in a blur, and the two currents of mist inside were finally pulled completely apart. One floated above, becoming the sky; the other sank below, becoming the earth.
Everything was exactly the same as the legends on Earth.
And the figure in the middle had become a giant who towered between heaven and earth.
However, after expending so many years, he seemed utterly exhausted, and slowly toppled to the ground.
Su Yang's heart jolted. He could see that this giant's life force seemed to have been entirely drained. If he were allowed to fall like this, his life would almost certainly end here.
Shrinking his own body in an instant, Su Yang rushed into the cocoon, carrying the Earth Principle and preparing to rescue this giant.
Yet once inside the cocoon, Su Yang discovered that the distance between him and the giant was nothing like what he had previously perceived. After entering, he could no longer see the giant who towered between heaven and earth at all!
