Supreme Sword Exalt
Chapter 528 - Scavenge Because Injured
Inside the carriage, pink light circulated over the Hehuan Sect Master, fighting relentlessly against the Mortal World Intent within her. Though the remaining Mortal World Intent within her appeared ordinary and was little in quantity, it possessed the tenacious vitality of wild grass. Even going all out, she could not completely expel it for the time being.
In just the span of a few breaths, Chongming and Gu Han had vanished beyond the horizon.
Her eyes were filled with resentment, unwillingness, and disappointment. “Damn it! Useless! You’re all useless!”
She roared incessantly at the remaining seven pink-robed men, deeply regretting her actions. This wouldn’t have happened if she had used her trump card earlier.
She gritted her teeth and glanced at the shadow behind her. “Ah Gou, get your ass out here!”
Her shadow stirred, and a short, small shadow stepped out. The shadow trembled for a moment, and transformed into a youth of eleven or twelve, who dropped to his knees before her.
The youth wore a set of beast hide. He had a pale complexion, brown eyes, and dry brown hair. Stranger still, he had a pair of furry, pointed ears, like a dog’s.
His right arm was slightly twisted from blocking Gu Han’s strike. However, there was not the slightest hint of pain in his eyes, which were devoid of any emotions. Instead, they were empty, concealing a hint of bestiality.
The Hehuan Sect Master’s anger surged as she struck him with a palm, sending him flying far away. “Bastard, why didn’t you kill him?!”
Ah Gou walked back mindlessly and knelt before her again, saying with difficulty, “Master... you... didn’t... command—”
The Hehuan Sect Master vented all her pent-up fury on him, striking out with palm after palm. “Bitch! If I hadn't spoken up, were you just going to wait until he killed me before doing something?!”
Although the youth’s face grew increasingly pale and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, he seemed unable to feel pain. Every time he was sent flying, he would return and kneel again. Beside them, the pink-robed men showed not the slightest pity in their eyes, only disgust and disdain.
After a long while, the Hehuan Sect Master seemed somewhat appeased. She stared at Ah Gou with disgust. “Tell me! What are you?”
“I’m a dog.”
“Bark.”
“Woof.”
The Hehuan Sect Master broke into a smile. “That’s right. Remember, as my dog, your job is to keep me safe at all times! Bite whoever harms your master. I don’t ever want to repeat myself. Understood?”
“Yes.”
“That person hurt me. What should be done?”
“Kill...”
The Hehuan Sect Master nodded in satisfaction. “Good. Go. Use your dog senses to find and kill him!”
From beginning to end, Ah Gou’s gaze was vacant, his responses extremely simple. “Understood.”
It seemed like a habit, or perhaps he simply didn’t know how to say anything else. Having received his orders, he slowly rose and sniffed the air. Then, he transformed into a shadow once again, about to give chase.
The Hehuan Sect Master suddenly called out to him, “Wait.”
She hesitated for a moment, but ultimately couldn’t resist her restless urge. “You can kill the man, but bring the rooster back!”
In response, Ah Gou turned into a shadow, tracking a wisp of scent. “Understood.”
The Hehuan Sect Master then looked at the five trembling pink-robed men. “Those who ran away earlier, chase them all down. Not one can be missing!”
They secretly sighed in relief and answered in unison, “Understood!”
The Hehuan Sect Master glanced at the bloody hole in front of her chest, then at the two men severely wounded by Gu Han earlier.
A pink mist flickered in her eyes, and she said coldly, “As for you, return with me and accompany me in healing.”
The two men’s blood ran cold.

Forcing back the dizziness and searing pain, Gu Han examined his injuries and sighed inwardly. He wasn’t much better off than when he had just woken up on Luori Mountain. After forcefully using the Mortal World Intent, the damage to his divine soul was even greater. All those scavenging had been for nothing.
Beside him, Chongming’s divine light flickered more violently, as if it could dissipate at any moment. He was still cursing nonstop, “Just wait, you stinking bitch! How dare you even consider eating my meat! No one would even dare to speak to me like that in the entire Profound Heaven Great Domain! Kid, we can’t let this slide. We have to beat her to death!”
Gu Han was stunned. “Master Rooster, actually, she doesn’t want to eat your meat... She just wants to eat you.”
Chongming paused for a moment. “Huh? Isn’t that the same thing?”
Gu Han was even more speechless. That’s completely different!
He hesitated for a moment, but ultimately didn’t tell Chongming the truth. What if, upon learning the truth, Chongming flew into a rage and recklessly went back to fight that woman to the death? The Tiannan Realm would become their final resting place!
A trace of weariness flashed in Gu Han’s eyes. “Master Rooster, let’s find a place to heal first.”
For him, the most important thing now was healing. The scavenging earlier had also been for this purpose. Setting aside his divine soul, as long as his physical injuries healed completely, he was confident he could slaughter his way through the third-rate forces without Chongming lifting a feather.
Chongming swept his gaze and immediately spotted a small valley a few li ahead. “There!”
Secluded and remote, it was perfect for resting. They arrived outside the valley in no time. Unable to hold on any longer, Chongming’s divine light dispersed, and he fell to the floor. He looked dispirited, not wanting to move at all.
“I’m so fucking tired!” He sighed, a hint of melancholy flashing in his eyes. “If Little Yun were here, I definitely wouldn’t have been bullied like this...”
Gu Han was silent for a moment. “Master Rooster. It’s my—”
Just as he was about to comfort Chongming, someone rose from within the valley and landed before them. His expression was gloomy, his falcon-like eyes paired with an eagle-like nose. A chilling aura emanated from his entire being. He was the Yinshan Old Ancestor who had fled in panic earlier.
“You?”
“You?”
The Yinshan Old Ancestor had taken refuge in this spot. He had sensed movement the moment they arrived, but had only shown himself after confirming they weren’t from the Hehuan Sect.
He sneered inwardly. Delivered right to my doorstep!
A wisp of greyish-brown qi coiled around him. Anyone else would have just driven Gu Han and Chongming away at most, but he was cruel and savage. All that fleeing had also filled him with pent-up frustration and anger. Even though Gu Han and Chongming had no enmity with him, he had no intention of letting them live.
He had to unleash his frustration somehow. “Since you’re here, you don’t get to leave!”
Gu Han glanced at him and roughly gauged his strength. He was at around the fourth stage of the Saint realm. Similarly, a cold sneer arose in his heart. Delivered right to my doorstep!
Gu Han asked, “Do you have any saint herbs?”
The Yinshan Old Ancestor narrowed his eyes and laughed sinisterly. “What? You’re on the brink of death, yet you’re asking such a stupid question?”
Gu Han coughed up a mouthful of blood as he swayed unsteadily. “It’s nothing. You can see that I’m badly injured, so I have to scavenge.”
He has to scavenge because he’s injured?
For a moment, the Yinshan Old Ancestor simply couldn’t figure out the connection between the two.
