Chapter 1226: The Cursed Clan

"The Cursed Clan?" — Hailey and Milena stared at Nemo in amazement.

The white mask he was wearing.

Looking at this mask, each of them thought that she had never seen his real face before. At that moment, he turned to them, met their gaze, before focusing back on Milica, and she asked:

"Nemo, do you understand what kind of curse I’m talking about?"

Nemo nodded.

"When I just reached the Diamond Rank, the seal placed on my bloodline loosened, and I felt the familiar call again. But at that moment, another, more powerful force intervened, severed this connection, and even suppressed my bloodline."

There was silence for a while, and then Nemo continued:

"As far as I understand, the call came from the Rain Clan’s Bloodline Domain, and what tore and suppressed my bloodline is the curse?"

"Yes, you’re right," Milica confirmed. "This is the curse of the Rain Clan. A curse that suppresses any attempts by Rain Clan members not only to establish a connection with existing Bloodline Domains, but also to create their own."

"Wait!" — Lina exclaimed excitedly, jumping to her feet.

"Does this mean that Nemo’s path to the sixth rank is closed?"

Idan and Arabel exchanged a quick glance. As they knew, a Bloodline Domain was needed to reach the sixth rank, and Lina voiced what immediately came to their mind.

Nemo clenched his fist and looked hopefully at his master, hoping to hear a rebuttal.

However, Milica’s next words shattered that hope.:

"Unfortunately, due to the curse placed on the Rain Clan, its members are not destined to reach the sixth rank. Their ceiling is a Diamond Grade."

"What? How? Why?" Lina couldn’t believe it.

Nemo looked down and sighed in disappointment. Then he looked at Lina, touched by her reaction, and asked her to sit down.

Idan and Arabel were deeply shocked by this news and frowned. They were aware of the existence of the Rain Clan’s curse, but had no idea of its essence.

Nemo was not only their senior in Milica’s apprenticeship, but also the champion of their System. Therefore, Idan couldn’t help but ask the System a question.:

"System, did you know about this?"

The System’s response made Idan and Arabel even more puzzled.

"What? Really?" — Lina jumped up again, this time not from despair, but with hope in her voice.

Nemo remained calm, but his heart began to beat faster, and his faded hope flared up again.

"Yes," Geminia said with a smile, enjoying the reaction of the young people. "Nemo only has two paths to reach the sixth rank."

"Two paths?" — Lina exclaimed with joy, realizing that all was not lost.

"Well, the first one is, of course, to remove the Curse of the Rain Clan, which, unfortunately, is almost impossible in the current conditions," Geminia immediately ruled out one of the options.

"The second one..."

"The throne of the World King?" suggested Idan, putting all the pieces of information together. "Did I guess right?"

Realization dawned on the faces of Sierra, Milica, and Lucinda.

Ilveina, who had not paid much attention to Idan before, looked at him in a new way.

The others were surprised by his words and turned their gazes to Geminia, waiting for her confirmation.

"As always, you surprise me, Idan," Geminia said with a smile and nodded. "Yes, you’re right."

"There is a high possibility that Nemo’s curse will be lifted once he reaches the end of the trial and takes the Throne of the World King, becoming the next World King."

This explained why, despite the curse, the System chose Nemo as the Champion candidate and asked Idan and Arabel to help him get the Throne of the World King.

"Heh," — Hailey chuckled, glancing at the system notification about the World Quest she had just received. "So we need to help Nemo get the Throne and become the World King?"

"Indeed," Lina picked up, carefully peering into the faces of those around her and stopping at Arabel. "We’re going to help him with that, aren’t we?"

"Of course, Dan and I are already in business," Arabel said confidently, answering for both of them.

Nemo trusted Idan and Arabel completely, so he didn’t doubt their words.

"You can always count on me, Nemo," Milica supported him. "As your Master, I am ready to help you in any way I can."

"And at us, too," — Lucinda and Sierra added. "Since we became the Guardians of the Kingdom, we consider ourselves on your side and are also interested in you getting this Throne."

Geminia and Ilvaina didn’t need to say anything. They had already been on Nemo’s side in this inheritance trial and would support him.

As for Milena, like Hailey, she received a World Quest and was no less interested in helping Nemo.

Nemo was deeply touched to see so many people who were ready to support him.
