Chapter 2391: I paid the price.
"I am back~"
Nux grinned, the distant look in his eyes that had worried the Seer for millions of years, disappearing as if it was never there in the first place.
"Did you miss me?"
He asked.
And the next instant—
"YOU BASTARD!!!!"
Vyriana launched herself towards him and—
BOOOOOM
She punched, her fist fitting right into his stomach.
"Khawwwrrkk!!"
Nux coughed out a black liquid which later turned red. His body began to tremble.
"Oi... what kind of welcome back is that...?"
He groaned, barely speaking the words.
Vyriana, who was already holding him, just snorted.
"Be glad I didn’t kill you."
The Dragon then began wiping the blood on his face, her eyes burned with strong intensity until all that intensity finally came out in the form of tears.
Nux laughed at that—
"You are the one who punched me, why are you crying?"
He spoke as he gently wiped her tears with a trembling hand, but that didn’t help, in fact, the moment he began wiping her tears, more tears came out, as if she could no longer hold herself together and broke down the moment he was here.
"Don’t push it..."
Vyriana spoke in a hoarse voice, unable to control her tears at all.
The rest of the women were no different, they quickly surrounded Nux, each touching parts of his body, almost as if making sure it was actually him.
In an instant—
Nux, who had been inside that nightmarish Multiverse for who knows how long, was now buried under his wives.
A place so heavenly that even though he was being suffocated, the comfort he felt was so strong that he almost wanted to let himself go.
"Ah~ Now this is what’s worth dying for~"
Nux let out a long sigh in relief, letting his body be touched by these ridiculously beautiful women.
"You really have let go of your fear of death after dying, haven’t you?"
Ember spoke, her moist golden-red eyes shining dangerously as she glared at Nux.
The women were more than a little sensitive to the word ’dying’ right now, Nux understood it, so he shut his mouth like a good boy.
Ember nodded, satisfied.
For the next few hours, the group stayed like this. Nux had already moved the children into a different room with a wave of his hand, he and the women had now shifted onto the bed.
They didn’t do anything.
Nux didn’t have the strength to do anything, he could barely move. The women sensed it as well, and honestly, right now, as much as they wanted to do those things with him, what they wanted even more was to... feel him.
To... let it sink in that their husband was not dead.
To feel the ease and the comfort that thought brought to them.
So all they did was touch him gently and... feel his presence without saying even a word. Even the most talkative ones like Skyla and Sharnoth were silent, overwhelmed by strong emotions.
It was strange.
To think all their built-up frustration, everything they had been through ever since it began, every extreme emotion that they felt, every time they thought about killing themselves, and the strong, overwhelming feeling of relief they felt after they realized he was back—
To think all those loud, strong emotions were expressed through... silence.
It was... so strange to think about...
But it happened.
For 10 whole hours, no one spoke, Nux drowned himself in the feeling of being near his wives, trying to heal himself from the countless years he had spent in the Multiverse.
The wives were silent too, until—
"You really did come back..."
Evane muttered with a gentle, weak look on her face as she stared at Nux and looked into his eyes.
That made Nux smile.
"Did you think I’d leave you?"
"You sure did."
Ember commented, holding Nux’s neck like she wanted to strangle him to death.
"We saw that recording."
Nux lowered his eyes as he remembered that.
Ember didn’t push forward either, it wasn’t something she wanted to talk about.
"So? What happened? Why are you so weak now?"
Vyriana asked the question. She did it to change the topic but also because she was curious. When she hit him, she didn’t mean to injure him, but Nux was injured and his healing was slowed significantly.
Nux looked at her and—
"I paid the price."
He answered as he looked at Shadow.
He knew she knew.
Shadow stared at him and nodded with a meaningful look on her face.
"Price?"
Astaria frowned, wanting to know more and Nux just laughed.
"I returned from nothingness.
Do you truly think there wouldn’t be a price?"
"As if you move according to what we think."
Riona rolled her eyes.
Nux smiled at those words.
Then—
"How did you come back alive?"
Edda questioned.
While she was glad it happened, Edda was no fool, she knew what happened, she knew even if it was Nux, this wasn’t something he could just... return from.
Unless...
"Someone helped me."
Nux answered honestly.
"Someone helped you...?"
The women raised their eyebrows.
Who could possibly help Nux from the situation he was in?
That should have been... impossible.
"Who was it?"
Aeliana questioned.
Whoever it was, she would kowtow to him if that was what was needed to express her deepest, heartiest gratitude.
Nux looked at her, then at the others.
He could see they all wanted to meet her, his saviour.
So he looked in a particular direction and—
"Come out now.
Stop hiding.
I know the last thing you are is shy."
He called out.
The women frowned, they all turned in the direction Nux was looking at. For a moment, there was nothing, even Shadow didn’t sense anything or anyone, which was surprising since she should know every being there was inside their Universe.
But then—
A figure began to form.
A figure every single one of them was familiar with.
"I am not shy, Nux Leander.
I am scared."
The Seer answered, looking at the women’s, especially Amaya’s distorted face.
