Chapter 2301: The reports are… worse than we estimated.
“Our Universe’s first Incubus, he isn’t just a Progenitor of a single World, he is the Progenitor of ALL the Incubi that will ever exist in our Universe.
Don’t compare his bloodline to the normal power scale, you know.
He is beyond that scale.”
Nux’s smile then turned even more loving and—
“After all, he is the Universe’s Child.”
The women’s expressions changed.
“Progenitor of all Incubi…”
Aisha muttered in her head. She looked at the child, then she looked at Nux and—
“So how strong would he be?”
She asked out of curiosity. It was a question that interested every single woman present here, after all, the more they knew about Allura’s child, the more information they would have about their own.
Of course, the women weren’t particularly interested in their children’s strength, if it were up to them, they couldn’t care less about how strong their children would be, but…
They had seen how the Universe worked, it was a cruel, merciless place. One needed strength, not just to achieve greatness, but just to survive without being bullied by others.
So yes, their children’s potential mattered.
Nux knew that as well, but Aisha’s question was more complicated than that.
“As I said, the normal power scale, or the power scale that came from the Main Universe, cannot be used for him, he is born in an entirely different Universe.
There is no accurate ’level’ I can tell you, there are several factors.
How much he trains, what Law he comprehends, all these factors would play a big role, and the biggest factor out of all would be…”
Nux paused for a moment, finally moving his eyes away from his child and looking at Aisha, then his other wives.
“It’s my strength, or the strength of our Universe.”
“The strength of our Universe?”
Vyriana narrowed her eyes.
“He is the Universe’s first Incubus, his strength would grow together with the Universe.”
“Does that mean… even his potential is constantly growing…?”
Lyriana questioned and Nux nodded.
“That is correct.”
“He is your child alright.”
Astaria shook her head and the rest of the women nodded with smiles. This level of confusion when they were only discussing the child’s potential…
But honestly, this time, this made some sense, even in the women’s minds. They couldn’t understand it well because even though they were now connected to Nux’s Universe, they still came from the Main Universe.
Their minds were used to it and its power scale.
But to compare a being of one Universe with another Universe’s power scale… it was foolish on their part. A more accurate way to think about the child’s potential would be to create another power system, a system for Nux’s Universe.
And in this system, if Nux’s potential stood at the very top, his children’s potential would be a step lower, and other beings born in the Universe later would then fit into lower levels.
Yes, it was crude, most of it didn’t even exist, but that was just how things were.
Nux’s Universe had just formed, the first true being of the Universe had just taken birth, it was impossible to create proper power scales when there were no beings to fit into those power scales.
“You people are thinking too much.”
Suddenly, Allura spoke up with a light smile on her face. Then she held her child more firmly and—
“He is our child.”
She spoke, looking into Nux’s eyes.
“He will be just fine, I assure you.
And even if he doesn’t, we will always be there to protect him, won’t we?”
She asked, Nux nodded, so did the rest of the women. Allura smiled at that reaction, then, with a relieved look on her face, she closed her eyes and…
She drifted into dreamland.
And as if sensing his mother’s calm, the child too closed his eyes just like his mother did and… he went to sleep as well.
The people around her saw that sight of the mother and son sleeping together and for a moment, no one said anything.
The women just looked at each other with light smiles on their faces, while Nux stared at Allura and his son with the same gentle, protective smile on his face for a long, long time. The sight of his wife, who was now a mother, and his newborn child together had put him in a trance-like state, a state he wouldn’t be recovering from for a good while.
Skyla, looking at the mother, father, and the son, frowned and then tilted her head in confusion—
“So… are we not going to name him…?”
“I don’t think we can.”
Rune shook her head.
“Allura must already have a name in her mind.”
Riona answered, then she looked at Amaya and smiled with a gentle look on her face.
“I know I did.”
Amaya didn’t know how to react, she just held her mother’s hand tightly, Riona did the same and the mother and daughter just stared at each other without saying anything.
“Mhm, I am sure she must have a name.”
Eisheth nodded as well, looking at her own daughter. Aisha smiled brightly and directly hugged her mother, she was much more forward than Amaya.
Seeing such a sight, Evane and Astaria too looked at each other. Unlike Amaya and Riona or Aisha and Eisheth, they… weren’t exactly close, at least not before Nux. They were technically grandmother and granddaughter but… the number of times they had interacted with each other was limited.
So ever since they got close because of Nux, there was some level of… awkwardness between them, but of course, as awkward as they were, the fact that they had some form of connection with each other couldn’t be hidden and that connection had only become stronger.
So Evane too slowly walked towards Astaria and just stood next to her. An action that put a light smile on Astaria’s face.
Just like that, time passed, the people stayed in the room, watching Allura and her son sleep together, at the same time imagining what it would be like when they would have their own children.
Yes, every single one of them was excited about their ’turn’. After all, for most of them, this child would be their first and even for those who wouldn’t be giving birth for the first time—
Just the idea of giving birth to a child with a man who loved them with his all, it was… very fulfilling.
“Alright, then I’ll just name my own child.”
Skyla pouted as she looked down and rubbed her own belly. Lane, who was standing with her, laughed at that reaction. She stared at Skyla’s belly, then her own. Then she looked around and stared at the other women and their bellies.
It was… a strange sight.
To think they would all be giving birth to new members of the family soon…
Just imagining numerous children running all over the place with big smiles on their faces… it felt… impossible.
Especially considering everything they had been through.
Lane smiled inwardly as she looked at her belly again.
…
And while Nux’s Universe was… celebrating the new member and was eagerly waiting for the new future members of the family, the Main Universe—
It was in chaos, it was in… shambles.
And the one who had it the worst was… the Supreme World of Darkness.
At the very heart of the Supreme World of Darkness, a vast hollow was carved into a mountain of… black glass, so deep that even sound felt afraid to fall into it. Rivers of slow, glowing crimson ran through the cracks in the floor like veins. Above, the ceiling was a moving sky of ash and shadow, swirling in a constant storm that never released rain.
At the center of that hollow was… a Throne Pit—a circular stage of obsidian bones, surrounded by pillars that looked like the ribs of a dead titan. Chains as thick as towers hung from those pillars, chains that were connected to the throne. Almost as if they were trying to hold something… that shouldn’t be released.
On this throne sat a being.
A being that the Universe called Son of Darkness or Son Darkness.
Son Darkness was the voice of Ul’Thakar, Darkness itself, one who carried Darkness’s authority when the Infinity himself did not move. A being that played a similar role as Lord Light did back in the Supreme World of Light.
His skin was pitch-black, like polished nightstone, catching faint reflections from the red rivers below. His eyes were a deep crimson with no warmth inside. A crown of shadow-metal hovered above his head.
And in front of him—
He didn’t fidget.
He didn’t sigh.
He simply watched the figure kneeling before him.
A being that… wasn’t made of flesh like the way mortals were, his body seemed like it was built from… smoke.
Thick, layered, and heavy smoke.
Every edge of him frayed into drifting strands, as if the world couldn’t decide where he ended. When he bowed, those strands poured forward like a cloak and pooled on the floor in silent waves.
Two long, jagged, and uneven horns curved from his skull. Between those horns was his… head. A mess of black, thorn-like, half-solid and half-mist spikes. Just like Son Darkness, his eyes were crimson.
One look at him would make most beings in the Universe tremble in fear, but right now, this being was kneeling.
He was… afraid.
Afraid to say what he was about to say—
“My Lord…”
But nonetheless, he began, because that was what he had to do.
“The reports are… worse than we estimated.”
