Supreme Harem God System

Chapter 2298: You are shaking.

Chapter 2298: You are shaking.

“Then why didn’t you leave? I never stopped you.”

Orravyn asked and Equarios…

The Infinity of Balance turned silent.

This was the problem, the biggest issue with the Infinities.

These were the beings who had been scheming against each other for trillions of years, their rivalry was the greatest rivalry in the history of the Universe.

They were, in no way, allies, neither were they rivals.

They were enemies who were out for each other’s lives. Every single one of them would pounce on the offer if it meant one of the other Infinities would die.

These were beings who were always planning to kill each other, no, killing was only one of the final goals, these beings would pounce even if it meant they would gain a slightly stronger advantage over the others.

In a situation as… tense as theirs, it was impossible for any one of them to do something that would benefit every single one of them.

Sure, that particular action might give them the same benefit as well, but even then, they put in the effort, why should others get to enjoy the result?

Was it petty?

Of course. Childish even.

But that was just how the Infinities were, beings who got every single thing they desired, beings who ruled over the entire Universe—

Their egos were inflated to a ridiculous level.

And because of that—

Going into an unknown Universe to get information regarding the enemy, a mission that could very well endanger their lives.

None of the Infinities would agree to it.

None of them would go, not unless they ensured that every single one of them, the Fifth Infinity included, would go.

And even then, they would constantly suspect each other of betraying the others and pulling a trick.

It was… complicated or maybe… it was oddly simple.

And Nux was using that to his advantage.

At this point, he had devoured thousands of worlds, he had devoured worlds that were present since the beginning of time, worlds that had… witnessed it all.

Worlds that… were present ever since the Infinities were.

And he had watched those worlds’ histories. Every single thing that happened, sure, he only saw those particular worlds’ perspectives, he only saw what was happening in those worlds—

And that was enough.

More than enough actually, he had seen the Infinities in action, he had seen how petty, how… small these beings were and the more worlds he devoured, the more ’information’ he got, the more he ’reinforced’ his mind, his plan only became even stronger.

To use the Infinities’ ego, to use their ’enmity’ against each other.

And it worked.

He appeared right in front of them.

He gave them a direct chance to attack him, to capture him, to end this battle—

But they did not move, not because they were scared of each other, but because they were wary of each other.

The battle between Light and Darkness put them in a safe situation, but that same thing also made them more paranoid.

How?

The first were Light and Darkness, Seraphielle and Ul’Thakar, they were fighting and they knew this fight would weaken them in the future and give the advantage to Eternity and Balance.

At this point in time, why would they go and confront an unknown entity when the other two were very capable of doing so?

As for the other two in question, well, both Equarios and Orravyn already had the advantage. It was only a matter of time before they became the stronger two out of the four Infinities now.

They were already in a better position, then why risk it?

Why look down?

Why not… look up?

They were the stronger two out of the four, what if they now somehow weakened the second? Then they would be the strongest.

Wouldn’t it be better if the other one confronted the enemy, entered the unknown Universe and… disappeared?

How… convenient would that be?

It was tempting and both Orravyn and Equarios hoped for the same thing, and because of that, they both refused to move.

The worst part?

They both knew this thinking was paralyzing them, that the enemy was using this against them—

But there was nothing they could do.

No matter what, they couldn’t bring themselves to trust each other, that was what trillions and trillions of years of enmity had instilled into them.

And Nux—

Who watched it all happen from far away, seeing it all going exactly as he planned—

He smiled and—

He closed the portal to his Universe.

He was safe again.

And he had returned to his Universe, this time, after devouring about sixty-five worlds at the same time.

That was more than enough, that would… last a good while and give him time to spend with his family in this… crucial time.

’Nux, it’s happening.’

And just as he returned to his Universe, he heard Shadow’s voice.

A message that he was already expecting to hear but when he heard it, it still made him… tense.

For a moment, everything around him turned silent.

Then, after a good few seconds, he let out a huge breath, the very void around him felt like it was exhaling with him, letting out its tension.

The black-purple scales then began to fold inward, his giant wings shrank, horns melted into shadow, talons softened into fingers, and that enormous, world-devouring throat quieted until it was only… a man’s chest that was rising and falling like it normally does.

Yes, he returned to his human form, his long black hair drifted around his shoulders. His lean, muscular body glowed faintly, the light purple-black marks left were like proof of what he had become just a few moments ago.

Then his golden eyes moved in a particular direction and he stepped forward. The very space around him folded and…

He disappeared.

And reappeared in another room, a room where all his wives were present, waiting for him, and in the center of that room—

There was Allura.

She was lying on a wide bed.

Her face was pale, it wasn’t painful, it shouldn’t be, not at the level she was at. Her body was just… strained.

It was holding something that the Universe itself was still learning to support, it wasn’t easy.

Her long white hair clung to her temples and her purple eyes that usually shone with a playful, seductive and amused light were now… glossy.

As if she was holding back her tears.

Nux quickly rushed toward her, knelt next to the bed and held her hands, his heart beating at a scary pace. Allura laughed when she saw that—

“You are here.”

She muttered in an exhausted voice.

The rest of the women watched it all in silence, every single one of them was carrying life within them, none of them were as close as Allura, but in their minds, they had already imagined themselves in her place and that thought alone made them go through different emotions.

For now, however, the women were only focused on Allura, her health and the health of the new member of their family who would… appear any moment now.

Shadow focused on the new life that had pretty much already formed, other than Nux and Allura, who could directly feel it inside her, she was the only one who could sense him.

And after a few long seconds—

“It’s time.”

Shadow spoke and those words made the entire room go… even more silent.

Especially Nux, he tightened his hold on Allura’s hand and from that firm hold, Allura could sense how… nervous this man was.

“This look does not suit you one bit.”

She commented with a light smile.

Nux laughed nervously.

“Look at you, the devourer of worlds, the enemy of the Universe, the one who challenged the Infinities, the nightmare of Light, the fearsome Anomaly,

Holding his wife’s hand, all nervous and tense because his wife’s giving birth.

What would the people in the Universe say if they see you like this.”

Allura commented, her voice got weaker the longer she spoke, there was a dry smile on her face.

Again, she wasn’t in pain, but the strain on her body was now at its strongest, all this while she had been supporting her child’s existence on her own, but now, now the Universe was identifying the child’s existence and was trying to make a connection—

Which was being interrupted by Allura’s own connection with the Universe, and that was the cause of the strain.

Nux needed to fix that, Nux needed to bring the child out of Allura’s body and he was prepared to do that but then—

“Nux.”

Felberta suddenly called out.

Nux looked at her and—

“You are shaking.”

She spoke.

“I am not.”

Nux denied it quickly, but the moment he looked down, the moment he saw his hands and his legs, he froze.

“I am… shaking.”

He muttered in complete disbelief.

How long had it been since he last… trembled?

Was it when he saw Eisheth for the first time? Or was it when he saw Vyriana? Maybe it was Azriel?

He didn’t remember.

But…

To think he—

The same being who just now played with the strongest beings in the Universe and drove one to madness—

Was now shaking in front of his wife.

It was… quite strange to see.
