Chapter 2130 Our target is him.
Chapter 2130 Our target is him.
“…how are we going to face them?”
Balance questioned as he took a deep breath, calmed himself down, and stared at his ‘allies.’
“We would have known if some of us weren’t too cowardly to act.”
Light snorted.
They didn’t need a genius to know who she was targeting.
Darkness growled, the black light that represented him intensified. He wanted to say something, but right now, he held himself back. After all, he wasn’t the only one who was being targeted.
Eternity was with him as well.
In truth, most of the blame was currently on Eternity. After all, the very fact that the enemies from another Universe figured out the way to breach the multiversal barrier and raid their Universe before them could be seen as a failure on Eternity’s part.
After all, out of the four of them, he was the one who prided himself on his knowledge, but now…
He was outsmarted.
And he wasn’t just outsmarted—when he realized that he was, he didn’t take action either and decided to hide things until he was ‘sure’ of the situation.
All three Infinities, especially Light, stared at Eternity, who had had enough of it and—
“Alright then.”
He began.
“Since you are obviously much braver than I am, the next time I encounter the Anomaly, I will send you to him instead.
How does that sound?”
He questioned directly, and in an instant, Light turned silent.
She obviously was not going to the Anomaly alone.
And Eternity, who already expected this reaction, simply ignored Light and glanced at Balance instead—
“Since Seraphielle isn’t jumping on the matter as bravely as she threw blame at others, why don’t you give it a try, Equarios?”
“…”
And just like Light, Balance stayed silent as well.
Eternity chuckled. Of course, he wasn’t planning on leaving Darkness alone either,
“What about you, Ul’Thakar?
You are the bravest of us all, are you not?
Also, it seems that darkness is a way to enter the enemy’s Universe. If it is you, you can easily enter their Universe and annihilate every single one of them.
That sounds interesting, does it not?
I can already imagine your blissful face as you crush all your enemies and take over an entirely different Universe.
Who knows?
You might even become the sole Lord of their Universe.”
Of course, all those words were empty. Eternity knew it, and so did Darkness, but…
Just like the other two Infinities—Darkness stayed silent as well.
It was clear, none of the Infinities wanted to step forward.
Were they scared?
Of course!
This was an entirely different Universe they were talking about!
They did not know how strong the beings from this Universe were, but since these beings had managed to do something they didn’t even think was possible—it was clear that they weren’t weak.
Who knows?
The Anomaly might as well be baiting them out with his movements, and the instant any one of them gets there to capture him, they might get ambushed by two or three Infinities.
None of the Infinities wanted to step forward and test this theory by risking their lives. Yes, despite being trillions of years old, every single one of them cherished their lives more than anything.
But…
The fact that they needed to make a move couldn’t be ignored.
The enemy was already at their doorsteps; hiding in their homes as the enemy ran amok was clearly not a solution.
“Alright, enough of these games.”
Balance spoke up after a long silence.
He needed to keep the conversation going.
“The Anomaly is a far bigger threat than what we previously believed. We need to act carefully and…”
Balance stared at his allies and—
“We need to move together.”
This was the only option.
“The fact that the enemy hasn’t attacked us yet must mean they are being wary. They already have an informational advantage over us, but they are not using it.
This clearly indicates that the enemy is not as strong as we believe them to be. At the very least, they are not capable of taking all four of us together.”
The other Infinities nodded at those words.
If the enemy could indeed take all four of them together, they wouldn’t be discussing here—they would have perished a long time ago.
“We now need to ensure that none of us is isolated anymore. Keep your senses on alert all the time. The moment you sense something is wrong, act.
Do not let the enemy take us down one by one because…
If any single one of us falls…
The rest will follow.
The enemy has no reason to accept surrender.”
Balance gave out general directions.
At their level, accepting the enemy’s surrender was indeed foolish. They were beings who could manipulate anyone’s mind, turning them into what they desired. Honestly, any being at their level could do it—even those weaker than them weren’t out of options.
If the enemy was indeed strong enough to take them out, then they wouldn’t be exceptions either. Instead of accepting their surrender and keeping an uncertain variable alive, they would rather have a completely loyal puppet that they created as their subordinate, even if the said subordinate was weaker than them.
The other Infinities knew that as well.
After all, every single one of them would have done the same thing as well.
They realized it—for now, their strength was in their unity.
They needed to become true allies if they wanted to survive this crisis.
Seeing that all of them were on the same page, Balance nodded, satisfied.
“What we need to do from here on out is simple—”
He began, giving a clearer, better plan—
“We need information. We need to understand the enemy, so no matter what, we need to capture at least one of them.
For now, we will target the Anomaly that has been spreading chaos all over the Universe. We will send a few of our subordinates after him. This time, we will confirm his strength and once we see the opportunity,
We will move next to him—together.”
The Infinities nodded again. None of them found anything wrong with it.
Was it shameful that four Infinities were going to act together to catch one child?
Well, the ‘child’ wasn’t the threat here. They needed to move together because the child’s superiors might be watching through the child.
They might be waiting to surround them the instant they arrive, and if that indeed happens, the Infinities wanted to stay together.
This was the only way they would have the highest chance of victory.
“We will also try to contact the Fifth Infinity.”
Balance spoke. This time, however, not everyone seemed to be on the same page as him.
“The Fifth Infinity? He protected the Anomaly once. It is clear he is with the enemy. What are you trying to gain here?”
Darkness frowned.
“We are not sure that he is the enemy.”
Balance shook his head.
“He protected him! Wha—”
Darkness raised his voice.
“Only once.”
Balance, however, interrupted him, and his words silenced Darkness for a moment. Balance continued,
“The Fifth Infinity only protected him once. After that, there were no signs of clear contact between the two.
It could be that the Anomaly did not need his help, but the possibility that the Fifth Infinity figured out the Anomaly’s secret and the two of them broke apart cannot be denied either.
If anything, the Fifth Infinity might be in danger or… he might be dead already.”
Balance spoke with a grim look on his face, but then—
“That is not possible.”
Eternity shook his head.
“There is no way the Universe wouldn’t have reacted strongly if the Fifth Infinity had died at the hands of the beings from another Universe.
And if an Infinity truly fought with his life on the line, there is no way we wouldn’t have felt anything.”
“What if he was taken into their Univers—ah…”
Balance tried to give out another possibility. Soon, however, he realized how the Universe would have reacted if that had happened and shook his head.
Eternity nodded at his words. He then glanced at Darkness and Light and—
“The possibility that the Fifth Infinity is with the enemies cannot be denied. However, in the end, he does belong to our Universe.
The enemy wouldn’t have any reason to keep him alive after everything is done, and he should know that as well.
It is highly likely that he will become our ally.
So we do need to approach him.”
Light nodded at those words, and Darkness… he nodded as well.
Having another Infinity with them was something they could not miss out on, especially when the said Infinity is technically a replacement of Zylarith, the strongest Infinity to ever exist in the Universe.
As he thought of all this, suddenly, another thought appeared in Darkness’s head—
“What about Zylarith?
What are we going to do about him?”
And this time, the one who answered his question was Eternity—
“His actions are too unpredictable for us to focus on him right now.
For now, we will leave him be.
Our target is him.”
He spoke as the screen showed Nux’s face.
And then suddenly, a few more faces appeared beside Nux.
His wives.
“And them.”
Eternity spoke
