Anna looked at him fondly.

"Victor, you’re going to spoil us all."

Victor grinned.

"That’s my plan, Mother."

Clara shook her head with an amused laugh.

"He’s definitely your son, Anna. Same charm."

Anna’s smile grew proud.

"I raised him well."

Victor laughed.

"You really did."

Then, without thinking much about it, he reached out.

One arm wrapped around Lane.

The other settled around Skyla.

Both girls stiffened for a moment.

Victor didn’t seem to notice.

"They helped me pick out everything," he said. "They have good taste."

Skyla immediately lowered her eyes.

"Young Master, you’re giving us too much credit."

Lane nodded quickly.

"Skyla is right. You did most of the picking."

Victor looked from one girl to the other.

"You two were still there to help."

He smiled.

"And you’re both excellent shopping companions."

Lane and Skyla exchanged a quick glance.

Neither seemed to know what to say.

Before either girl could respond, Victor leaned down.

He gently kissed each of their foreheads.

"You two are the best shopping companions a man could ask for."

Lane’s expression softened.

A shy smile appeared on her lips.

"Anytime, Young Master."

Skyla smiled as well.

"We’d be happy to help again."

Clara had been watching the entire exchange.

She hadn’t said a word.

But her eyes had followed every little movement.

Eventually, her attention settled on Lane.

Clara noticed the faint redness spreading across the girl’s cheeks.

One eyebrow slowly rose.

"Lane..."

Lane looked up.

"You look a little warm."

Lane froze.

Clara’s smile became more curious.

"Did something happen in the city?"

Lane’s face turned even redder.

"N-nothing happened, Lady Clara."

Clara tilted her head.

"Are you sure?"

Lane opened her mouth.

Nothing came out.

Her eyes darted briefly toward Victor.

That tiny movement was enough.

Clara noticed it.

So did Anna.

Victor noticed it too.

He immediately stepped in.

"Lane just got a little tired from all the walking."

He gave a quick nod.

"That’s all."

Anna slowly turned toward him.

There was a knowing look in her eyes.

"Of course, Victor."

She paused.

"Whatever you say."

Victor suddenly felt several pairs of eyes on him.

He cleared his throat.

"Anyway..."

He looked toward the house.

"I should probably go to my room."

He coughed awkwardly.

"I need to cultivate."

Clara smirked.

"Running away so soon?"

"I just need some time to meditate, Aunt."

Anna walked over and gently kissed his forehead.

"Go on, my son. We’ll talk more at dinner."

Victor nodded.

"Thank you, Mother. I’ll see you all later."

He turned around and quickly headed toward the house.

He had barely taken a few steps when the women’s laughter rose behind him again.

Victor shook his head helplessly.

Even after he reached the doorway, he could still hear them laughing together in the garden.

He couldn’t help but smile.

For all the teasing, embarrassment, and relentless questions...

He wouldn’t trade that sound for anything.

It was the sound of home.

After talking with his family for a few minutes, Victor went to his room for cultivation.

Today’s events had given him a lesson.

She closed the door behind her.

Her hips swayed hypnotically.

Victor’s smile widened.

"Good evening, my naughty maid."

She sauntered over to him.

Her movements were graceful.

Her eyes were filled with hunger.

"I thought you might need some company tonight."

Victor pulled her into his arms.

"You read my mind."

And the night was far from over.
