Chapter 1023 - 1023: Fall of Emperor!
A wall of flames exploded from the fox, sending a dozen battalions flying. Soldiers screamed as the warbear plowed through shield formations like they were paper, tossing enchanted boulders like toys.
Above them, mages released bolts of ice, fire, and wind—each enough to destroy small cities. Kent stood on Sparky’s back, completely unbothered, deflecting spells with a casual flick of his fingers.
Then he jumped.
He landed amidst the core formation like a meteor, his Heavenly Sword flashing out.
CLANG—BOOM!
One swing sent out a shockwave that tore apart the ground. Twenty men flew backward, armor shattered, weapons broken. Mages screamed and scattered as Kent walked forward, sword resting on his shoulder like a farmer holding a rake.
Every time a general rushed toward him with a spell—heaven suppression chains, divine light seals, phantom tigers—Kent simply sliced them apart, leaving nothing but sparks and regrets.
The battlefield was chaos.
Explosions rang across the skies. Spirit pets roared in glee, treating the Royal Army like a training ground. Sparky alone carved a glowing path of destruction, using his claws and lightning breath to tear holes in elite formations.
Yet Kent didn’t run.
He walked. Step by step. Eyes locked on one thing—the imperial palace.
Dozens of guards formed a wall in front of the palace steps. The bravest among them, top-tier Immortal Magi, raised weapons and charged.
Kent raised his sword again—this time glowing with celestial light.
Heaven-Shattering Arc.
The strike unleashed a wave of light that swept across the steps. Every warrior fell, knocked unconscious or blasted away, leaving a trail of burning ground and shattered stone.
At last, he reached the base of the Imperial Hall.
The golden gates were wide open. Inside, the marble throne room echoed with silence.
Kent stepped inside slowly, brushing the dust off his robe. His pets remained outside, forming a living blockade to prevent more enemies from rushing in.
The atmosphere was thick with spiritual pressure. Dozens of formations glowed, runes hanging in the air like frozen snowflakes. Energy buzzed like a storm waiting to explode.
And there, on the far end of the hall, standing on the imperial platform…
Was Emperor Kai.
Adorned in radiant armor, holding a staff glowing with phoenix fire, surrounded by nine elder magi and the imperial soul puppets, he looked more like a demon god than a king.
Kent stopped ten feet away, planting his sword into the ground with a soft thunk.
Silence fell.
Their eyes met—one cold and calm, the other wild and desperate.
“You’ve come,” the emperor rasped.
“I said I would,” Kent replied. “One night. That was your gift.”
“I am the Emperor of Kai,” the man growled. “You think one man can destroy a dynasty?”
“I am not one man,” Kent said simply. “I am the storm you tried to drown.”
Their auras collided, sending a pulse through the palace.
Weapons shimmered. Magic circles flared.
The battle hadn’t begun… but the heavens already held their breath.
Golden pillars lined with dragon carvings towered around them, and the ceiling above shimmered with the light of a thousand embedded spirit stones. But all of it paled before the two figures now facing each other in the center of the grand throne hall.
Kent stood calmly, sword resting against his shoulder, lips curled in an amused smirk. Across from him, Emperor Kai radiated pressure like a collapsing star. His armor blazed with nine seals. His staff, the legendary Phoenix Bone Scepter, pulsed with waves of divine fire.
“Still not kneeling?” the emperor hissed.
“I don’t kneel,” Kent replied. “Only make others do it.”
Without warning, the emperor struck first.
He stomped the marble floor, activating the Imperial Heaven Binding Array. Golden chains surged out from the walls, glowing with divine runes, wrapping around Kent from all directions like pythons of light.
“Submit!” the emperor roared, raising his hand. The Staff of Phoenix Bone released a deafening cry, and a tsunami of flame surged forward, scorching the floor and cracking stone with its might.
But Kent didn’t move. He exhaled softly and whispered:
“Storm God’s Wrath: Disruption Domain.”
In an instant, lightning exploded outward from his body. The chains shuddered, sparked, and were torn apart midair. The golden runes screamed before crumbling into dust.
The emperor’s eyes widened, but he didn’t stop. He raised his palm and shouted:
“Heaven and Earth Seal – Dragon Devour Form!”
A giant celestial dragon of jade and gold burst from the scepter, roaring as it lunged at Kent, fangs wide open, heavenly aura shaking the palace.
Kent simply stepped aside. The dragon missed by inches—and as it turned, Kent pointed two fingers at it.
“Lightning Break – Scatter Soul!”
A thin bolt of golden lightning shot forward like a needle. It pierced the dragon between the eyes, and the illusion shattered like glass.
“You… monster!” Emperor Kai roared, now clutching a glowing crimson orb.
Kent’s eyes narrowed. “Ah, now we’re serious.”
The emperor raised the orb and yelled:
“Crimson Devourer Flame Orb – Burn the Soul!”
A wave of demonic red flame gushed out like a sea of lava, rushing toward Kent with a soul-devouring howl.
Kent calmly raised his sword, drawing a wide arc in front of him.
“Heavenly Sword Art – First Form: Eternal Sever.”
The blade carved through the flames like paper. The red inferno was split apart, creating a clean path as Kent walked through the gap—his steps slow, deliberate, mocking.
“You’re wasting treasures,” Kent said. “Doesn’t your treasury have a bottom?”
The emperor snarled, veins bulging in his neck. He slapped a talisman onto his chest and activated three more:
“Heaven Armor Talisman! Undying Spirit Rune! Bloodforged Demon Cloak!”
His entire body transformed into a semi-divine figure—flesh hardened into gold, a demonic cloak flaring behind him, and his spirit pressure shot to the heavens.
He raised the phoenix bone staff again. “Die—Sovereign Fire Prison!!”
A crimson-gold prison of fire erupted around Kent, locking him in a sphere of hellish temperature. Even space trembled inside the seal.
The emperor sighed in relief.
But then—
CRACK.
A golden boot stepped out of the prison, followed by the rest of Kent, brushing a few embers off his sleeve.
“Too warm in there,” he said casually. “Try something with more flavor.”
The emperor now began sweating.
“God Beast Projection – Black Turtle Rebirth!” he screamed.
A titanic black turtle appeared above him, spirit power rushing into his body. His wounds healed. His strength surged. His aura doubled.
Kent raised his brow. “You really brought everything.”
He disappeared.
A flash of lightning cut across the hall—BOOM!
