SUPREME ARCH-MAGUS

Chapter 1022 - 1022: One Man Army!

The teasing turned to playful caresses, and then to whispers in the dim glow of the moonlight filtering through the embroidered curtains. Sophia trailed her fingers across Kent’s arm, murmuring stories of how they trained while he was away.

Lily told him about Fatty Ben’s ridiculous snoring and how they nearly killed him with a pillow. Mona shared how she once tried to wear Kent’s old robe to sleep but tripped over it and knocked herself unconscious.

“I woke up hugging the floor, convinced it was you,” she said, poking him in the chest.

Slowly, the tension dissolved into warmth. Kent relaxed. There was nothing like being surrounded by those who loved him—not just for his power or title, but for the fool, friend, and man he was beneath it all.

“Alright,” Amelia said, stretching, “we’re all tired. One bed, one Kent. May the heavens forgive what happens tonight.”

Mona grabbed a corner. “I get his right arm!”

“I’m taking the left!” Sophia declared.

“Feet are mine,” Lily said, laughing.

“Fine, then I’ll just take his face,” Amelia said boldly, earning gasps and playful punches.

The battle for positioning lasted another half hour, involving two near-pillow casualties, a very confused Kent, and a declaration from Mona that she would build a second Kent using illusion magic just to stop the fighting.

Finally, the women calmed down, curled up around him like purring spirit beasts, each claiming a part of him. The cloud bed cradled them gently in its enchanted softness, rocking slightly as if in rhythm with their slow, contented breathing.

The room fell into silence, only broken by the occasional sleepy mumble and Kent’s whispered apologies to various body parts that had been claimed and tugged.

As the night faded and the first golden light of dawn trickled through the curtains, a bird chirped outside.

Kent slowly opened one eye.

He couldn’t move.

He was pinned under legs, arms, hair, and at least two very heavy heavenly blankets.

His face was half-buried in Mona’s curls, one of Sophia’s legs draped over his chest like a snake, and Amelia was hugging his head like a pillow.

He let out a quiet groan. “I survived forbidden seas and demonic emperors… but this…”

Lily stirred beside him, blinking. “Morning, husband.”

Kent tried to wave. Only a toe moved.

“I need… spiritual reinforcement…”

From somewhere near his ribs, Mona yawned. “Shh. It’s too early to be a hero.”

And just like that, Kent KING—savior of cities, wielder of legacies, breaker of enemies—was reduced to a human cuddle pillow, buried alive by love.

And honestly? He didn’t mind.

Late morning rays spilled across the King family manor. Inside the main hall, however, the air was far from peaceful.

“Kent, hold still!” Sophia chided, struggling to buckle the last layer of armored robes over his chest. “You’re going to fight an emperor. At least look like a proper battle Hero!”

“I am a battle hero,” Kent muttered, smirking. “But fine—tighten it more if it makes you feel better.”

“You’re not going alone this time, right?” Lily asked with narrowed eyes, arms crossed, clearly reluctant to let him out of her sight.

“I am,” Kent replied firmly, tying his long hair into a warrior’s knot. “But I’m taking them.”

He snapped his fingers. Outside the balcony, a gust of wind blew through the skies as the majestic roar of Sparky, his thunder-scaled dragon, shook the clouds. Behind the dragon, Kent’s spirit pets—each brimming with divine might—gathered in the air in anticipation.

“Let him go,” Mona sighed dramatically, leaning against the doorframe. “The emperor won’t kill him. He’s too pretty to die.”

The women gave him one last round of hugs, whispers of “be careful,” “win quickly,” and “don’t burn the emperor to ashes—we want to see his face” following him as he leapt onto Sparky’s back. With a single clap of wings, the dragon shot into the sky, slicing through clouds like a blade through silk.

The Royal Capital of the Kai Empire was not celebrating today. The streets were silent. Every shop shuttered. Every tower filled with scouts. The sky above the imperial palace roiled with spell formations, barriers, and floating battalions of elite cultivators.

Emperor Kai had not slept a moment. His eyes were bloodshot, his breath unstable, and his robes—layered with spiritual defenses—were half-worn in panic. A half-dozen high-ranking ministers stood nearby, trying not to tremble.

“How did he reach Peak Earth Immortal Magus realm in such short time?” the emperor growled, hurling an ancient scroll across the floor. “Did he devour a god?!”

No one dared answer.

Instead, the emperor personally ransacked the royal vault—grabbing a spirit mirror from the Dragon Era, strapping the Thunder Lotus Armor, swallowing Nine Suns Pills, and clutching a triple-layered talisman array. He had more enchantments on him than a walking treasure mountain.

Every spell formation across the palace was activated. From the giant meteor-deflecting walls to the hidden guardian statues, everything was readied for one man.

Kent King.

And then it came—the roar.

A deep, thunderous cry echoed from the heavens as a beam of lightning cut across the sky. The air trembled. People screamed. Birds scattered.

The soldiers on the front lines instinctively raised their weapons. Mages chanted spells, lighting the horizon with an ocean of glowing runes.

Then, through the clouds… he came.

Riding atop the massive Sparky, Kent descended like a falling star. His figure stood tall, robes flapping, sword at his back, eyes cold.

With a wordless gesture, he pointed forward—and the battle began.

The Royal Kai Army stood in formation. Tens of thousands of elite mages, archers, and divine warriors stood shoulder to shoulder, creating an unbreakable wall.

But Kent had no plans to go around.

“Time to train,” he muttered to his spirit pets, who leapt into action.

From his spirit ring emerged the Nine tailed fox, the blood mist serpent, the Mountain bear from the Seventh Realm, and two shadow panthers he recently tamed. Sparky let out a furious bellow and dove into the heart of the army like a comet.

BOOM!
