Chapter 1495: Chapter 1485: Mu Yu

The man seemed anxious, watching as Jiang Cheng was getting closer and closer, because Jiang Cheng was running so fast, too fast.

He suddenly drew his gun again, but Jiang Cheng saw the movement clearly, so as he raised his gun, the phone in Jiang Cheng’s hand flew across and smashed directly onto the man’s hand, causing the gun to fall to the ground.

The man was about to bend over to pick it up when Jiang Cheng had already charged in front of him, kicking towards the man’s waist. The man hurriedly retreated. Jiang Cheng didn’t give him a chance to breathe, delivering a series of kicks while the body kept retreating, and the man’s hand turned into a fist, continuously beating Jiang Cheng’s legs.

Jiang Cheng didn’t expect this man to have some martial skills; Jiang Cheng increased his speed, and the man became overwhelmed, being knocked to the ground by a stone while retreating. Jiang Cheng fiercely grabbed the man: "Who sent you?" His voice was agitated, but the man remained silent, and Jiang Cheng punched him again, directly in the face. The corner of the man’s mouth had been smashed, blood flowing down.

"Quickly tell me who sent you," Jiang Cheng shouted again, but the man still remained silent, keeping his mouth shut.

He chuckled grimly, "Didn’t expect you’d been trained, but falling into my hands, there’s no keeping quiet. Once we get back to the house, I’ll interrogate you soundly, and you won’t dare not confess. Now come with me." Jiang Cheng pressed the man as they headed to where Mu Yu was.

Mu Yu sat on a stool, having just had his wounds bandaged by a nurse. The bleeding had stopped, but he still needed to be hospitalized for a thorough check-up due to fears of hidden injuries.

Mu Yu saw Jiang Cheng approaching with the man, happily standing up: "You caught him! Great, now we can find out where he’s from when we get back; he definitely has ties with Mo Niao Tuo Bu."

"He’s tight-lipped, not confessing. Once we go back, we’ll entertain him properly; I can’t believe he won’t talk," Jiang Cheng said with an exaggerated wicked smile that even made Mu Yu a bit nervous.

The two began their journey again. Due to the earlier car accident, they both felt it was safer to walk, so neither used a car, just walking like this. "Our place isn’t far from here, it’ll be quick, no need for a car," Mu Yu said.

"Alright, let’s walk then," Jiang Cheng pressed the man, who didn’t resist, knowing such resistance would be futile given Jiang Cheng’s strength was overwhelmingly superior. Not long after they started, a gunshot sounded, followed by a huge impact that nearly knocked Jiang Cheng down. When Jiang Cheng checked the man he was holding, a bullet had hit between the man’s eyebrows, killing him instantly.

Jiang Cheng turned to look back, but couldn’t find the shooter. The shot had also knocked Mu Yu to the ground, reopening the arm wound. Jiang Cheng quickly called for help, getting a taxi and heading to the hospital, as Mu Yu began to fall into unconsciousness, with Jiang Cheng desperately pressing on the wound.

Upon exiting the taxi, several medical staff had rushed over since Jiang Cheng had called the hospital during the ride.

Jiang Cheng busily helped the nurse place Mu Yu on a bed, as the nurse pushed the bed hurriedly into the hospital, with a doctor taking a quick look and continuously calling out for preparations.

Mu Yu was pushed into the operating room, where outsiders were not allowed. Jiang Cheng waited outside, occasionally sitting on a chair, pacing the corridor, extremely worried.

Jiang Cheng realized this mission was truly extraordinary; someone had been following them from the start, then the car accident, and now the captured person had been shot dead right in front of him. This infuriated Jiang Cheng; he hadn’t expected his opponent to be so formidable and so brazen.

In broad daylight, under Qianlong’s sky, they swaggered about freely, behaving audaciously. Jiang Cheng’s hand clenched into a fist, hitting the wall hard. He was determined to uproot the entire group, showing no leniency, not backing down.

The operating room’s light remained on, while Jiang Cheng sat on a chair, waiting for Mu Yu to come out, unsure if Mu Yu could survive this ordeal.

This is the life of a soldier, constantly in the most dangerous places, unafraid of death, always interacting with the Death God, yet never retreating, never backing down, lacking fear, but always advancing courageously, leaving no enemy behind. Suddenly the words "operation successful" flashed as the operating room light went off; the door opened, and Jiang Cheng rushed over, as the doctor said: "The operation was very successful. The bullet was removed from the patient, and fortunately, he was brought in promptly; had it taken any longer, excessive blood loss could have resulted in death."

"Thank you, doctor, you’ve worked hard." Jiang Cheng thanked the doctor, but the doctor, possibly having heard such thanks too often, or perhaps tired from the surgery, didn’t respond, heading straight to the office, while the nurse pushed a trolley towards the ward.

Jiang Cheng followed the trolley, stopping at a room near the greenery, opened the door; the nurse said: "This is a single room, you can stay here!"

After placing the trolley inside, Jiang Cheng and the nurse lifted Mu Yu onto the bed, then the nurse said: "The patient is still unconscious, which is normal since he’s in the post-anesthesia stage. You don’t need to disturb him; go to the front desk and settle the bill now."

After settling the surgery fee and checking into the hospital at the front desk, Jiang Cheng returned, but as soon as he pushed the door open, he was stunned. There was no one inside, the room was empty, the bed was empty, leaving Jiang Cheng pounding his chest in frustration.

Jiang Cheng quickly went out and happened to meet the nurse carrying medicine in, saying slapdashly, "How long have you been away from here?" Jiang Cheng, after just landing, had been beset by successive troubles, being in no mood to speak calmly.

The nurse was bewildered, not believing a patient could go missing; this was the stuff of dramas or movies, not real life occurrences. Saying nothing, she walked inside, thinking Jiang Cheng was fussing unnecessarily.

Crap!

Indeed, the medicine bottles in the nurse’s hand all fell to the ground, shattering everywhere, because she truly saw the bed was empty.

She quickly reported to the head nurse and the director, but Jiang Cheng ignored them, heading directly outside the hospital, knowing this group couldn’t have run far.

He rushed out of the hospital, unable to find any suspicious individuals, so based on intuition, pursued in another direction, running fast, legs like the wind.

Suddenly Jiang Cheng halted because a group of people blocked his path; they were burly men, each robust, with flowing lines and developed muscles, clearly all trained.

Jiang Cheng felt certain this group knew Mu Yu’s whereabouts, so he fixated on them and said: "Quickly tell where Mu Yu is, best returning him unharmed, or you’ll all die."

The word "die" felt like it was punched out from the eighteenth level of hell, causing the burly men to shiver, an icy chill instantly spreading through their bodies.
