Chapter 872 - 872: Vivian's Return
One week after Nathan summoned his sixth familiar, Vivian finally returned home.
Nathan immediately dropped everything in his hand and headed straight to the entrance.
“Welcome home, Teacher.” Nathan smiled.
Vivian smiled back. “I’m back. I have brought all the materials to make the storage device.”
“Please get some rest first. It must be a tiring journey.” Nathan waved his hand.
With Flora attending to Melissa, a woman who was supposed to be her aunt, Nathan could guide Vivian back.
“It’s only been three weeks or so, but to think the town has changed this much.” Vivian looked around, impressed by the development.
“Indeed. It’s only been a week since I got back as well. And I also have summoned my sixth familiar.”
“Sixth? Isn’t that too fast? Didn’t you summon your fifth familiar not long ago?” Vivian was worried about the ena consumption, considering Nathan’s absorption rate was low.
“You don’t have to worry. I have over 100,000 ena. All my familiars all have 100,000 ena as well.”
“If that’s the case, then it’s fine.” Vivian thought for a moment. “Once the storage is built, you will be able to get an element. Will that be enough? The alien territory is not something you can cross easily. Even on this trip, I encountered two elite class aliens.”
“Seriously? Are you alright?”
“I’m fine. I fought them with Melissa, so it was manageable.” Vivian waved her hand. “It’s just… I’m a bit worried about you.”
“I have got the location and the route to get there, so it should be much safer. Besides, I have the keen instinct of my beasts. I will follow their advice and avoid an area with a high danger level.”
Vivian sighed. “Well, when are you planning to leave?”
“I don’t know. Maybe two weeks after I get my element? Then again, I’m not sure if we can go just yet.”
“Why? Aren’t you planning to save her father?”
“Yes. It’s just… we encounter a problem. Master. Do you mind calling Charlotte here?”
“Sure.” Vivian waved his hand as Charlotte’s figure appeared out of thin air. She instantly leaped toward Nathan, hugging him. “Husband!”
“Wha—!” Nathan didn’t expect Charlotte to behave like this, but it was clear what she wanted. Showing such affection would just make people think they were in a relationship. What a clever move from Charlotte. Even if he wanted to stop her, she would just say she missed him with a sad face to get sympathy.
Vivian grabbed Charlotte’s collar from behind and pulled her up. “All right. That’s enough.”
Nathan smiled wryly. While getting up, Nathan said, “Welcome back, Charlotte.”
“Yes, I’m back.”
“He wants to ask you something.” Vivian stopped Charlotte from acting by switching the topic.
“Hoh? What kind of problem could trouble you?” Charlotte’s interest spiked. All the topics Nathan brought up always piqued her interest, so she was a bit excited about the question.
Nathan explained briefly about Selena’s father, especially his condition.
Charlotte’s face turned solemn. “That’s indeed possible. But there’s one problem. While the body can be freed, how about the soul?”
“Anubis was the one who suggested this method,” answered Nathan. Anubis was an expert in souls, so he should know what he was talking about.
Even Charlotte agreed right away after Nathan mentioned his name. Charlotte recalled the information. “That’s indeed possible with the magic circle popular 400 years ago.”
“Is that so? That’s good.”
“Still, I have to check his body’s condition first. If the bloodstone has somehow integrated into him, I have to change the summoning circle to the banned one.”
“Banned summoning circle?”
“Yes. It’s a version that has been banned because of its use. It was developed by the greatest thief 380 years ago. He brought his enemy into a building, which had been covered in a summoning circle.
“So, when they fought each other, the thief would activate the summoning circle and use the weapon or equipment of his opponent to summon his familiar. This circle is banned not because of its application, but because of the system itself.
“Unlike a normal summoning circle where your ena can influence the outcome, this summoning circle disregards another party’s ena. That’s why his opponent couldn’t protect their items.
“If the bloodstone has merged to a certain extent, his ena should also circulate in that stone. Hence, we should cut it off by using this summoning circle. It’s an extremely complicated summoning circle. I have to open my record in the grand library if I want to draw it.”
“I see.” Vivian glanced. “It seems we will make a trip there soon.”
“Yeah.” Charlotte nodded.
“In that case, how about moving your library here?” Nathan raised a solution.
“It’s not a matter of just one book, you know? It’s the library!” Charlotte frowned.
Nathan nodded and took out a space bracelet before placing it in her hand. “Take this.”
“Are you making something troublesome again?” Vivian’s eyebrows twitched.
“What is this?” Charlotte examined the bracelet. “I know this one is a space-related magic circle. But the second one… it’s also space, but it’s something I have never seen before. An original magic circle?”
“Yes. This thing is called a space bracelet. It has an independent space within the void, which basically becomes a storage. You can store and take out items with this bracelet. As for the size, it’s about half of the workshop. If you stack the books neatly, don’t you think it’s possible to bring them out?”
“Ah!” Charlotte gasped. “But doesn’t this mean you have made an artifact, Husband? Don’t tell me. You used that again? Without me? I’m shocked and sad right now.”
Nathan smiled wryly. “Well, yes. I just wanted to make the trip more convenient. I don’t plan to spread it or make a lot of them.
“Besides, you will see how the element forms anyway, so don’t be sad.” Nathan raised one finger. “And I think I will ask you to teach me everything you know about magic circles. There’s something I’d like to test after getting an element.”
