Chapter 786 - 786: Kun Peng
The people on the ship, including Flora, couldn’t help but panic.
“Not good!”
“Hang on!”
“I don’t know what’s going on, but trust the admiral and hang on!”
The people were holding on for their dear lives as the people on the deck turned pale after seeing the massive wave. Even Flora wanted to summon her ice spirit to stop the wave.
However, the next thing they realized, the whale once again emerged from the water and carried the entire ship on its back before flying into the sky.
“Aaaahhh!”
“Help!”
“Mommy!”
“Hang on!”
“Trust me, I’m hanging on!”
The people were screaming at each other. However, the panic didn’t last for long because Kun was flying so smoothly that they wouldn’t feel much from the flap, like riding Nidhogg or other beasts.
And that was because of the gentle breeze that controlled his flying ability.
Meanwhile, Kun finally spoke to Nathan and, surprisingly, the other divine beasts as well.
“Hello, everyone. I’m Kun. It’s nice to meet other divine beasts who I’m unfamiliar with. I’m communicating with telepathy, so if you channel your ena into your head and speak in your mind, you should be able to communicate with me.”
“Is this how you do it?” Anubis was the first one to reply.
“Easy.” Fenrir harrumphed.
“Like this?” Jinwu’s voice echoed.
“By the way, am I supposed to hold this ship until we reach our destination?” Nidhogg asked.
“Please don’t worry about them. Unless there’s a big bump, they should be fine. It’s just… My speed is slow, so the aliens might catch up. And my other form is not suitable to carry this type of thing.”
Nathan raised his head before turning to Lena. “Duchess Lena. We can’t speed up because we’re carrying all this. You have two options. Abandon the ship and speed up or protect him as we go there. Slow the enemy down.”
Lena answered without hesitation. “In that case, I will choose the latter. A single ship is expensive to make, so if possible, I don’t really want it to be destroyed. I will take care of the defense. You probably need some time to talk with your familiar, right? So, take care of it on the way.”
“I understand.”
Lena hurriedly shouted, “Men! Get ready. The aliens might catch up to us. Our mission is to protect our savior here. Make sure everyone reaches the port without any further damage!”
She led the summoners to stay on the back, preparing to intercept everything that the aliens threw at them.
Meanwhile, Fenrir patted Kun’s back while saying cheerfully, “You are so big. It reminds me of my brother. Even though my brother has enough length to wrap you, he will still have a hard time strangling you to death. Hahahaha!”
“…” Nidhogg rolled his eyes, knowing Fenrir was talking about Jormungandr.
Nathan, on the other hand, asked, “Is this even your biggest size?”
“!!!” Fenrir raised his eyebrows.
“Of course not, Summoner… May I call you Master instead? It’s more convenient to call you Master instead of Summoner for me.”
“Do as you wish.” Nathan nodded.
“My size is supposed to be bigger than this. Unfortunately, you don’t have enough ena when summoning me, so I have to shrink my size a bit.”
“Really? How big are you truly?” Fenrir’s eyes flashed.
Kun fell silent for a moment. “Even I don’t know the exact measurement of my size. However, I should have no problem swallowing an entire city by myself.”
“Swallowing an entire city?” Fenrir wasn’t the only one surprised. Even Anubis and Nidhogg couldn’t help but widen their eyes. Only Jinwu added, as he already knew Kun. “You should specify it a bit further. That city is a royal capital, which hosts over a hundred thousand people inside!”
“…” Fenrir and the others were utterly speechless.
“It doesn’t matter. A city is a city. I am nothing compared to you, Sun Crow.”
“Call me Jinwu.” Jinwu harrumphed. “Well, that doesn’t matter, I guess. Still, aren’t you a bird?”
“Hahaha. You are one humble whale, even though your appearance is so menacing.” Fenrir laughed while patting Kun’s back multiple times.
“Now that I think about it, how does that work?” Nathan tilted his head in confusion. “What is your ability, Kun? How can you transform? Does it change anything?”
“We are Kun Peng. We both govern water and wind together. However, as Kun, water is my main ability, while wind is an auxiliary element. Meanwhile, as Peng, wind will become the primary ability while the water is my auxiliary element.
“My body, as Peng, also changes, but unfortunately, I can’t show it to you right now. After all, Peng is slimmer. Even though both have the same size, the body of Peng won’t be able to carry that ship right now.”
Nathan frowned. “What do primary and auxiliary elements mean?”
“Literally. I can only use the wind element to complement my ability right now. For example, I can produce mist as Kun while using the wind to disperse the mist.
“Meanwhile, as Peng, I can’t produce the mist. Instead, I can produce a tornado that carries water droplets.”
Nathan fell into deep thought. “I see. Your manipulation over water is basically top-notch in this form, while your control over wind is just enough.”
“To put it simply, yes. Still, ‘affinity’ is a much more accurate word to describe it.”
“Fair enough.” Nathan nodded. “It’s no wonder you can speed up as Peng. You’re using the wind to boost your speed, right?”
“Yes, Master.”
Nathan raised one finger. “There’s one thing I can’t help but wonder. With your current size, can I even maintain your summoning? After all, what is our current range again?”
“It’s about 2.4 li (1,200 meters) right now, Master. However, as long as any part of my body remains in that range, I won’t disappear. In other words, as long as the tip of my tail doesn’t go beyond that range, I will be able to remain here.
“Once you get stronger, you will also increase your range, so I’m looking forward to your future achievement, Master.”
Nathan nodded in understanding. “Yeah. I’ll do my best to get stronger so that you can move even more freely. I should also ask Melissa about the enchantment to increase the summoning range as well.”
“Thank you, Master.”
“I should be the one thanking you for answering my call. I’ll rely on you a lot in the future.”
“It’s my pleasure. However, there’s one problem right now. That creature is catching up.”
“!!!” Nathan turned around, finding the alien’s silhouette in the distance.
