Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 1969: Crushing Apep
"Kun!" Mae and Qilin released their power, trying to negate this power.
However, Nathan was one step ahead of them.
"!!!" Apep raised his head, sensing Nathan making a move from another place.
The dark energy he released was actually being restricted. It was as if he was being confined in a small space.
"Haaaa!" Apep overpowered Nathan’s power, but that power wasn’t meant to stop him. Nathan simply wanted to distract him.
The moment he was distracted, Kun disappeared.
Apep knew that Nathan was recalling Kun. He understood the summoning system after reading Nathan’s memory.
After all, Kun reappeared not long after.
"There you are!" Apep sprang toward Kun, not to kill Kun, but to get Nathan. Nathan couldn’t be too far away from his summoned familiars, so even if Nathan didn’t exist in his vision, he still existed in this universe. All he needed to do was retract his step and force Nathan to come out.
"I know you are going to do that," Nathan muttered, sending that information directly to Apep’s mind.
"!!!" Apep suddenly felt a chill down his spine. On the one hand, he wasn’t scared of Nathan. On the other hand, according to the memory he got, Nathan was a pain in the ass when it came to strategic thinking.
If this was a trap, there was a chance he would fall for it. So, it would be better not to bite and find another opportunity.
What Apep didn’t know was the fact that Nathan had grown so strong and developed his strategical thinking simply because he wanted to confuse his enemy.
When there was no trap, just a simple gesture from him would make his opponent think there was one.
This time, Apep didn’t bite, but it allowed other familiars to catch up. ℯ𝕝.
"Got you!" Nidhogg and Orochi came from behind and released their breaths.
Garuda then created another tornado that locked Apep’s position. Xolotl snapped his fingers, summoning multiple black lightning sparks all around Apep’s body. Xolotl smiled. "Go for it!"
Fenrir had channeled everything he could muster into his paw. He leaped up and spun his body to increase his momentum before hitting Apep’s head.
Bam!
The impact caused by the full strength of absolute force caused a massive shock wave. Fortunately, the shock wave was contained by Garuda’s wind tornado, which repelled it back into the center, meaning Apep would feel Fenrir’s attack many times as it kept bouncing back.
The powerful impact caused the black lightning to become unstable and burst, shattering many of his scales.
"Guaaahhhh!" Apep screamed in pain.
It didn’t stop there. Kun had changed into Peng and activated his wind element. His wind element could harmonize other elements, so he actually used his element to turn Garuda’s wind tornado into a medium.
He fused this powerful wind tornado with Orochi and Nidhogg’s breaths. They might haven’t done anything big, but their elements were extremely strong.
The chaos energy distributed the lightning even further, while the poison melted the cracked scales.
Apep was having a hard time containing that pain.
"This..." Sera gasped. "Why did Apep stop earlier? He would have reached Nathan had he continued."
No one could actually think about anything.
But Nathan was different. He used to borrow some working strategies from famous people in the past. He had utilized the speed of Napoleon or the ingenious plan that allowed Hannibal to defeat the large Roman army.
This time, it was no different.
’In the past, there was a strategist who was practically undefeated. A military general wanted to defeat the strategist by using everything he had. That military general succeeded and forced the strategist into a position where he couldn’t defend himself.
’He finally defeated this strategist, but when he arrived at the gate, the general noticed something.
’The strategist stood on top of the city wall, playing his zither. The gate was already open, and the general could simply charge in.
’Before charging in, he noticed that the men who were trying to welcome them were wearing armor underneath.
’Not knowing that he had managed to corner the strategist, the general thought that this was a trap. That was why he chose to retreat, thinking himself a genius for not falling into a trap.
’Thus, the world recorded the famous ’empty fort strategy.’ Hence...’
Nathan narrowed his eyes. This kind of strategy wouldn’t work easily on anyone else. However, it would work marvelously against his familiars, especially new ones.
After all, they had obtained partial information about him.
Apep knew Nathan was the most troublesome opponent with his tricks. If he fell for his trick, the consequences would be severe.
That was why Apep chose to stop. He didn’t realize Nathan had been doing everything he could to win his battles. It just happened that his current self had become feared for what he had achieved.
Hence, Nathan simply uttered a phrase as though Apep had fallen into a trap, not knowing that he could simply charge ahead and get him.
Apep couldn’t even release all his power because Nathan had been restricting his movements with his familiars. Even in this situation, Qilin and Mae had yet to unleash their attack.
They were preparing for the time Apep turned the situation around. However, it didn’t seem there was no need for it.
The power of multiple true gods was truly unimaginable. Even the others who had yet to become true gods couldn’t be underestimated either.
Since Nathan stopped Apep with just his words, it meant he could unleash his own power to attack him.
Apep widened his eyes, noticing the energy surrounding him again.
He was trying to stop it, but it was too late.
Nathan looked at the crystal ball that showed him the entire area. He grabbed it and shattered it.
The invisible force gathered around Apep and crushed him with extremely powerful momentum.
Bam!
The universe felt like it had just imploded and caused Apep to bend in a weird way as many of his scales crushed. Black blood spilled everywhere.
Apep coughed up blood as his eyes rolled back.
"Aaaahhhhh!"
