Chapter 1948: Patient Zero

Catalith didn’t know that Nathan actually possessed such a treasure. If he could bestow something like this on everyone, it would change everything.

They had a hard time understanding other beings in this universe simply because they didn’t speak the same language. Usually, they would be able to gain a bit of understanding from gestures.

Then, they would send envoys who would take care of the negotiation. Those envoys would gradually understand each other’s languages and establish a communication.

However, this sigil just allowed them to understand each other.

"You... How much is it for the sigil?" Catalith asked. "I want it even if I go broke."

"Sorry, not for sale. That’s just the temporary sigil that will allow you to understand what the alien is saying."

"What? That’s not fair."

"Sigil of the Trickster." Seath seemed to recognize the sigil.

"Hoh? You know this?" Nathan smiled. There was only one Outer God that could fit the criteria. It was Nyarlathotep.

Nyarlathotep was known for being a trickster and a messenger. For it to survive this ordeal, it must have originated from its ability to trick the black cell. Loki had just shown this. He, the trickster, ended up forging a relationship with Nyarlathotep.

Those two were basically the same type of people, so they would understand each other and plan all this.

Considering Cthulhu came because of the Prophecy, Nyarlathotep must have bestowed this sigil on Cthulthu. Nathan knew how convenient this seal was, since he didn’t have to worry about talking to other races.

Nyarlathotep’s role required it to understand everyone’s language, so it was only natural that he possessed all kinds of languages.

Nathan just didn’t expect that this alien actually recognized the sigil.

"Yes. You, the bearer of the sigil... what do you want?"

"I want to know everything. What is happening in your world? What is the current condition? Where is it?" Nathan asked.

"I can’t tell you everything. Because I have been controlled, it won’t be wise for me to reveal everything. It’s the same to you, for everything will return to the Great One."

"I know Azathoth will know it all." Nathan nodded. If Seath truly told him everything, Azathoth would know about it and it also meant the black cell would know and give a reaction.

However, if he didn’t reveal important things, the black cell wouldn’t be panicking yet even if it knew about what they were talking about.

"My consciousness had been blocked ever since that annoying parasite controlled my mind, so I couldn’t tell you the current situation."

Nathan nodded with a serious expression. "So, what can you tell me... tell us?"

"I don’t know how long ago it was, but the Dark Dimension was trying to infiltrate this universe."

"The Dark Dimension... The Great Void?" Nathan narrowed his eyes.

"The void you saw in this universe is indeed the Dark Dimension. As gods, you should already know that even your world can be separated by the so-called realms. You can create multiple layers in your world, turning it into something you desire."

Nathan and Catalith glanced at each other.

"The universe can do the same thing. This universe has multiple dimensions."

"!!!" Nathan widened his eyes in shock. "Multiple dimensions..."

Nathan was screaming inwardly, ’The scale has just gotten a bit too big. I originally wanted to go to the alien world and kill the black cell, but I ended up learning about the Great Void and the fact that this universe has many dimensions...’

"However, you don’t have to worry. Each dimension isn’t supposed to know each other’s existence. In this world, there are only two beings who are supposed to know the existence of other dimensions."

"Two beings..." Nathan suddenly widened his eyes in shock. "Azathoth and Yog-Sothoth..."

"Correct, but it all changed the moment the Dark Dimension invaded this dimension. He who exists everywhere yet only has a single existence decides to become a gatekeeper."

"..." Nathan frowned. The nickname was quite confusing, but he could figure out who it was. It should be Yog-Sothoth. Yog-Sothoth existed in all timelines, but at the same time, it was just a single existence. There was a reason he was called one-in-all and all-in-one.

Besides, Azathoth was unreliable, even though he was the source of everything. So, it was only natural for Yog-Sothoth to take charge of the matter. Azathoth knew about this because of Yog-Sothoth.

’It looks like mastering or governing the space and time allows Yog-Sothoth to know the existence of the other dimensions. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem that the other dimensions can’t harm them. The only one difference is this so-called Dark Dimension...’

Seath continued, "You who possess a similar power might learn about its existence in the future, but there will always only be one gatekeeper. What I know... What the others know is very limited. The only one who truly knows everything is that lord."

"I know." Nathan nodded before letting out a long sigh. Since the situation had reached this point, it was only natural for them to know about this situation or other dimensions. Yog-Sothoth must have told them about it, but their knowledge was incomplete.

"Still, can you even exist in another dimension?" Nathan asked.

"You may or may not be able to exist. The creatures from the Dark Dimension are trying to enter this universe, but they’re struggling. There are two methods that allow such possibilities. The first one is what our enemy is currently doing. The black cell is rumored to originate from the greatest existence in the Dark Dimension. It tries to invade this dimension by using us."

Nathan narrowed his eyes. "Don’t tell me, the first one who was infected by the black cell was Yog-Sothoth, not Azathoth?"

"Correct."

Nathan thought that the blind fool was just trying to devour everything and ended up swallowing the black cell. Then, the fool spread it because it didn’t realize anything. Yog-Sothoth was the one who spread it actively.

It turned out Yog-Sothoth, who acted as the gatekeeper, was the "patient zero."

Nathan nodded in understanding. "I see. Please continue. What is the second method?"

"Rebirth."
