Chapter 1947: Subduing the Alien

"That’s right. The black cell is able to absorb almost everything from the alien, including their lifespan as a nutrient. That’s what the black cell requires to survive in this universe."

Nathan looked down, contemplating. He knew that this information might not do anything if he fought against the Outer Gods, because the black cell would surely not let it be separated from the Outer Gods.

In addition, the Outer Gods had more than enough strength to avoid getting restrained like this.

That was why Nathan was wondering what he was supposed to do next. The army was something he might do, but he was still trying to find other things he could utilize.

Catalith continued observing her own experiment, trying to see what the black cell could do in this situation.

Fortunately, it didn’t seem the black cell was capable of doing anything.

"It looks like we’re almost done." Catalith nodded, satisfied.

Nathan raised one finger. "There’s one thing I’m curious about. Since the black cell can absorb everything, can’t they absorb ena from the cores? What about their flesh? If that’s the case, won’t the black cell be able to run independently for a while?"

"You mean like... after death?"

"Yeah. If the alien dies, the black cell also stops functioning, right? But if we’re using your theory, can’t they absorb its flesh and cores to operate for a bit longer?"

Catalith shook her head. "I don’t think so. A parasite requires a living host. It will follow the host’s life and death. Most likely, the alien is connected to the host’s main organs that can determine life and death. If that organ sends a signal that the host has died, the black cell will have the same fate. Once it’s dead, it won’t be able to absorb anything else from the host."

"Maybe..." Nathan couldn’t confirm, but that was the most reasonable explanation.

"In any case, we’re done." Catalith pointed forward. The alien and the black cell had been removed.

Nathan looked at the black cell that had shrunk significantly. It originally covered the entire alien’s body, but after it was separated, the size shrank to just slightly bigger than the alien’s head.

"The black cell has died. That’s how it looks whenever I separate it from the alien..." Nathan confirmed.

"All right. In that case..." Catalith first reinforced the chains to make sure the alien couldn’t break free. "Fortunately, we’re able to diminish the berserk. If not, the alien wouldn’t have much time left to live."

Nathan didn’t say anything, but he didn’t care either way. He didn’t have much time before he ended up fighting the black cell either.

So, as long as they could remain alive until that time, he didn’t care how much lifespan they had left.

Flora and Noelle frowned. They noticed that the alien was resisting less, as though it had calmed down. However, the fact that it still moved around meant that the alien was still alive.

This would be the second time they were looking at a living alien without the black cell in its body. They wondered if this alien was intelligent enough to have a conversation with.

A few minutes passed. The alien had yet to do anything.

Nathan and Catalith flew closer. Catalith shouted, "Oi! Who are you?!"

"Do you understand me?"

"Why do you attack us?"

"Are you still alive?"

"Say something!"

Catalith was trying to wake up the alien, but to no avail. She looked at Nathan, wondering what they should do.

Nathan simply raised one finger, gesturing for her to stay quiet and wait for a bit longer.

It looked like Nathan was right. After another fifteen minutes, the alien seemed to have calmed down and started moving its body.

Still, because of the restraint, its movement was quite limited.

It looked confused and started screeching.

"*#$&@(%."

"#@&%($#..."

"I can’t understand anything." Catalith frowned. "I mean, I’m happy the experiment is a success, but I really can’t understand anything."

Nathan looked at the alien and said, "I am Nathan Reckmoon. Calm down and listen to me. You were under the black cell influence earlier, but we managed to rescue you. We still don’t know whether you have gained your clear consciousness or you are still under the influence. Cooperate with us."

The alien stopped moving all of a sudden.

"They can understand us?" Catalith raised her eyebrows.

Nathan continued, "Very good. We will remove the restraint on your head. Let’s have a talk first."

Nathan turned to Catalith and nodded, asking her to remove the restrain on his head.

Catalith hesitated for a moment, but she knew she could overpower the alien again later, so she retracted the chains on the alien’s head.

The head was gradually moving forward as the alien said, "$&#(%#&."

"Yeah. That’s what we want as well, but you need to cooperate with us first."

"*%$&#(#."

"Sure. Let’s begin with an introduction." Nathan nodded.

"Wait. You understand their language?" Catalith gasped.

"It’s telling us that he will cooperate," Flora explained.

"You too?" Catalith was startled. "Wait a moment. How do you guys understand their language?"

"We teach it in our world. It’s a mandatory class." Flora grinned.

"What? That’s amazing!" Catalith gasped. "I need to study their language as well. Do you happen to have the book for me to study?"

"Hehehe." Flora was having a hard time containing her own laughter. Noelle just rolled her eyes. "You should stop teasing a goddess like her. It will be problematic if she’s angry."

"W-What?" Catalith was dumbfounded. "Teasing? What’s going on?"

"Now that I think about it, I haven’t put that sigil on you." Nathan chuckled.

"What sigil? No, wait a minute. I wasn’t bothered by how I could understand you even though your mouth was speaking something I didn’t understand. I thought you just had a language ability, but..."

"Extend your hand." Nathan asked for her hand.

Catalith frowned and put her hand on his palm.

Nathan then placed his finger on the back of her palm. Then, a sigil formed. Nathan then continued, "Let’s begin with your name. Who are you?"

"I am Seath Rrab."

Catalith dropped her jaw. "I... can understand it now!"
