Chapter 1659: Confirming the Army

Chapter 1659: Confirming the Army

"Can’t I have good news without the bad one?" Nathan sighed.

Regina shrugged. "So..."

"What’s the report?" Nathan nodded.

"There is a weird movement on the front line, specifically in this place." Regina brought the map and pointed to a location. "According to the report, the aliens have stopped coming for two days. We’ve been trying to figure out what’s happening right now, but none of the scouts returned."

"Hmm..."

"What do you think?"

Nathan thought for a moment. On the one hand, this kind of movement might just mean the aliens were gathering their forces. On the other hand, it had reached a point where there were no more aliens.

Looking at this situation, Nathan was convinced that the elite class aliens were gathering their army.

Nathan crossed his arms. "Do we have any reports from the dynasty yet?"

"Not yet. Or they may haven’t found anything yet."

Nathan’s expression turned solemn. They needed to check it first before making a big move.

Nathan raised two fingers. "I need everyone to stand by, but don’t raise the alarm yet. I will go there to check it personally. Tell everyone to get ready. In the case the situation has reached that point, we may have to take the opportunity to strike them first."

Flora nodded with a serious expression. "Are you planning to go alone?"

"Going alone will be nice, but if we want to launch the first attack, it will be good to have more firepower. Hopefully, we can kill a few dozen within the first strike, so..."

Nathan was considering his options. Who had the strongest offensive power among his team?

Normally, he would choose Evelyn, but she had to take care of the teleportation if the enemies had been confirmed.

After carefully considering his options, Nathan chose two people. Nathan asked, "Flora, can you ask Selena and Luna to come here? They will be going with me to check the enemy’s situation."

"If we’re using the teleportation circle, why don’t we establish a teleportation circle and bring everyone there and leave?" Flora asked.

Nathan shook his head. "We can’t give off any energy signature before that. If we choose to teleport a bit further away, there is a high chance that the battle will alert them, and then the plan will fail.

"There are simply too many variables, so I’m choosing the safest option. You know my luck... This is something we’ve carefully set up, so if we miss this chance, we might not get another one."

Flora looked down. They managed to bring the aliens thanks to his jinx. This also meant there was a potential that the situation would go even worse.

So, it would be better to remove those variables first. Nathan wanted to lower their strength first so that when the situation worsened, it would still be under control.

Flora finally understood Nathan’s intention, so she didn’t argue further and just headed out to carry out her task.

Then Nathan turned to Regina. "If the enemy is coming, we will have to inform the dynasty about it."

Regina nodded. The dynasty had agreed to help. If the movement came from the dynasty, the soldiers of the empire had to go there as well.

"Do we have enough preparation?" Nathan asked.

"Yes. As per the agreement, we have prepared the people for this fight. Once we transport the people, we will start digging ditches to slow them down. All the tools, equipment, and supplies had been arranged."

Nathan nodded in understanding. "Good then. Go to Evelyn to manage the teleportation. I have to lead the team to scout. There won’t be much time, so we will need all those people to move and finish the job within four hours."

Regina looked down. It would take many people to finish a ditch. They could speed up the process by having more people work on it. At the same time, managing tens of thousands of people was not easy, not to mention that they had to work under such pressure.

But if they succeeded, creating at least ten lines of ditches should be possible within that time. They needed time to bring them away and let them start digging more ditches after all.

"Got it! I will handle the matter right now."

Nathan nodded. After Regina left, Nathan took out his Soul Contract. He had left behind several Soul Contracts. One of them was a way to communicate with Elysion.

Nathan had given Elysion a contract such that if it were torn, Nathan would receive an alert. Of course, Nathan also possessed the contract for Elysion.

Nathan was ready to tear up the contract as soon as they had confirmed the army’s existence.

After another two minutes, Selena and Luna finally arrived. Without wasting any more seconds, Nathan immediately teleported them to the front line.

While moving deeper into the alien territory, Nathan briefed them on their plan.

"If we can slip past the aliens, don’t engage. We can’t afford to have a big fight with the aliens. Considering the number of elite class aliens, there’s no telling what kind of unique abilities they have. There is a possibility that they possess an ability to detect us, so it’s better to be extra careful."

They nodded in understanding.

Nathan would lead the team as stealthily as possible. In case they couldn’t slip past one, Nathan would have to use his teleportation or they had to engage them in a fight, depending on the circumstances.

Nevertheless, they managed to reach the area Regina had pointed out.

As she had previously said, the area didn’t have any sort of movement. In other words, there were no aliens in this area. It was weird due to how the aliens usually moved.

This kind of situation could only happen if there were an overlord that controlled the aliens.

So, Nathan carefully moved deeper to figure out what had happened.

"Is this the same situation as the tunnel? Are they moving underground?" Selena remembered the case where the aliens dug tunnels to infiltrate the kingdom.

However, Luna seemed to have found something. "This..."
