Chapter 1543: Orders
Chapter 1543: Orders
“Allow me to present to you, the Shadow Guards.”
Her eyes were wide open because what was behind the door was a huge limestone cave with so many buildings around it. It was as if this place had been customized to support a civilization.
She could see at least thirty people at the bottom, each of them exuding a power that couldn’t be underestimated.
Vista himself was considered a world class summoner. At the same time, she noticed that there were at least four arcane level summoners below.
The level of this group was much higher than anything she could imagine.
It was no wonder why this Shadow Guards was able to guard the kingdom. They possessed enough power to eliminate any noble.
Flora never thought her dad possessed this kind of trump card.
“No wonder the Azilia Kingdom has been standing for 1,100 years.” Flora muttered. “How many members are there?”
“We don’t have many members, but we are elite. As of now, we have 50 members. I am the supreme commander of this group, and under me are seven team leaders. Each of them possesses a strength comparable to an arcane level summoner. Their subordinates are at master and grandmaster levels.”
It was indeed a grand scale. But it wasn’t enough to threaten Nathan and the others. If not for his relationship with her, she didn’t know whether this group would be moved to eliminate Nathan or not.
Nevertheless, her father gave this powerful group to her.
“Please follow me.” Vista led her down as the members started to notice her presence.
“I believe you already know who she is. She is Her Highness Flora, the current holder of the cross badge.”
When they heard she was the possessor, all of them dropped to their knees, greeting Flora.
Vista spoke up. “This time, we have a job. This is a job that you have never seen before.”
Flora nodded. “I want you to gather any information about the Asura Palace. I plan to head deep into the alien territory myself, and I believe the Asura Palace might have the key to what we’re looking for.”
It was an information-gathering mission, but this information gathering should have been done in a library. There was no need for them to get involved.
Noticing their confusion, Flora turned to Vista with a solemn expression.
Vista understood her concern and assured her, “They will take any secrets to their grave. What is our motto?”
“We are ghosts. We don’t exist. We hear nothing and know nothing.” They answered in unison.
Flora could see several famous people here, especially the arcane level summoners. They once made a name for themselves. They were either pronounced dead or went missing. It turned out they had been here the whole time.
The fact that she had never heard about this group meant she could trust them with some information.
Flora let out a long breath. “There was something that came to my attention not long ago. I didn’t want to believe it, but the clues were already visible everywhere.
“The world that we know… might come to an end in a few years.”
“!!!” They gasped. If the world were going to end, they couldn’t imagine what would end it.
Flora briefed them on the current situation. She didn’t reveal too much information regarding her understanding of the aliens, but she gave enough for them to realize that the world might really come to an end pretty soon.
“That’s why I need information about the Asura Palace. The first place that recorded the sighting of the alien was the Asura Palace.
“If we could figure out the Asura Palace and find where they had that record, we might be able to find the situation we’re currently in.”
Vista immediately announced, “Team 3, Team 5, and Team 6. All three of you will cooperate with each other for this mission. Gather all the records we have, sort them out, and summarize them.”
“!!!” Flora was a bit surprised when they didn’t respond to Vista’s command. It was as if they were showing that their loyalty belonged to the owner of the cross badge.
“Get on with it.” When Flora said those few words, several people immediately disappeared.
This showed the absolute power that the badge possessed.
Vista didn’t say anything, but he looked glad that Flora was able to understand the meaning of the badge.
Flora turned to Vista. “There are still a lot of tasks left. However, I’m sure that you are aware of the new summoning utilization method, right?”
“Yes.” Vista nodded. “I was there to watch the presentation myself, not openly, of course. But several people found me, such as Your Highness’s husband as well as Evelyn Reckmoon.”
“Well.” Flora shrugged. “I need to know the system of this place. Do you still have the reward and punishment system?”
“We do. This is a very strict place. If you make a mistake, you will be punished severely. If you have done a great job, you will be rewarded greatly.”
“Even though people don’t know they still exist?”
“There are plenty of ways to reward them or their relatives. There are artifacts and other things. If they want to give something to their relatives, we can send a merchant or a noble family to create a project that benefits them.”
“Fair point.” Flora thought for a moment before saying, “I will also add those new techniques into the reward pool for their own advancement. However, if you have done an even better job, I don’t mind asking for a technique that can be given directly to you, meaning even if you want it to be given to your relatives, it will be possible.
“In addition, there will be herbs or more. Even medicine that can save you from the brink of death is possible.” Flora might have to rely on Nathan to get all those rewards, but if they could do a very good job surpassing their own people, Nathan shouldn’t mind giving some small gifts.
“Yes, Master.” They replied in unison. There was a trace of expectation in their voices.
