“Master. Why don’t you get some sleep? Are you not tired yet? Do you want me to tire you out?” Mae asked while sitting on the edge of the bed. “You have been working on it the entire time…”

Nathan was sitting on the floor while disassembling his pistol. Mae was confused because if he had ended up breaking it, there was no way to fix it.

“I am not real. Even when I accompany you like this, I’m nothing but a fragment of my existence. I have died…” Mae lowered her head, unable to look at him. She had been his companion ever since she was summoned to this world, so it must be disappointing to know that she didn’t truly exist.

Nathan chuckled. “I don’t know what you’re worried about.”

“!!!” Mae widened her eyes in surprise. Nathan should be smart enough to understand her words.

Before she could explain it further, Nathan added, “Fragment of existence, huh? That might be true, but you definitely exist. Even Lilith remembers everything that happened in this world 500 years ago.

“Why would you care about such a superficial thing? You exist, and I am here. That’s all that matters.

“I couldn’t care less who you are or what you are. You are my family. That is enough for me.” Nathan smiled. “That’s why you don’t have to worry. You are Mae, my waifu.”

“Master…” Mae’s tense expression melted. “But your habit kicked in again. Please say “wife” instead of “waifu.””

“Oh…” Nathan looked away. “Bad habit.”

Mae smiled. It looked like she had worried for nothing. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was swept away by Nathan’s excitement as he suddenly finished.

“I’m done!” Nathan grinned as he stood up.

“Done? What are you doing, Master?”

“I have been thinking about how to improve my gun further. A normal gun is too primitive. If I want to fight against those beings, I have to grow my guns further.” Nathan smirked. “This is just the first step. Let me demonstrate it.”

Mae just watched him with a smile. She was never bored with whatever Nathan was doing. And this time, he would bring another surprising thing.

However, someone suddenly knocked on the door. As a fox, her ears could easily figure out who was outside, but Mae originally thought this person was simply going to her room, not his room.

“Nathan. Are you inside?”

“Evelyn? Do you need anything? Come in. The door is not locked.”

That was right. The person coming to his room was actually Evelyn.

Evelyn was confused, especially with the mess on Nathan’s table. “Am I interrupting something?”

“Not at all. I just finished setting up the foundation for my new gun. Want to see?” Nathan grinned.

“Oh?” Evelyn nodded. Ever since she showed an interest in Nathan, she had been very active in accompanying him. Nathan had brought a lot of unique things, so she couldn’t help but feel curious about the new guns.

“Look at this.” Nathan extended two fingers on his right hand and lifted up the arm. Suddenly, the gun parts on the table flew up and curved around him.

“Telekinesis?” Mae widened her eyes, recognizing this power.

“What are you—!” Evelyn was confused, but a piece of the gun suddenly flew toward Evelyn’s forehead as Nathan failed to control all of them completely. In the end, there were 12 parts he controlled at once. It was different from what he had used so far, so even with his current control, it wouldn’t be weird if he failed.

But what was even more shocking was the fact that the part actually hit Evelyn’s head.

“Ouch!” Evelyn clicked her tongue before catching it. “What are you doing?”

“Eh?!” Nathan couldn’t believe what he saw. Evelyn’s reflexes should be fast enough to catch the part. No, she should have been able to use her own energy to send it back to him. Yet, for some reason, she got hit.

“Who are you?” Nathan glared at her. There was no way Evelyn would be that weak.

What he didn’t know was that the one in front of him was truly Evelyn. But he didn’t consider that Evelyn had completely dropped her guard when she was near him, which made her reaction speed so slow. It showed her complete trust in him.

At the same time, Mae pointed at Evelyn while saying, “She is Evelyn, Master. You don’t remember her or something? Her smell is the same.”

That was why Evelyn was slightly annoyed. She pinched Nathan’s cheeks again while berating him. “Is this the mouth who asked who I am? Do you have chronic forgetfulness?”
