Chapter 144: We’ve Lost, Mother!
Chapter 144: We’ve Lost, Mother!
Urgh!
Yoribu fell to her knees on the cloud platform hurriedly erected by the Cooter Clansmen.
Mutated Expert Gold Grade Pranic Beast–Boar King!
That was her Secondary Body.
Intermediate Gold Grade Pranic Beast–Empyrean Megatrice!
That was her Tertiary Body. The Empyrean Megatrice was a Gold Grade variant of the Rockatrice which the Cooter Clan faced right at the entrance to the Dralh Sea.
Currently on Sumatra, only two Boar Kings were alive. One was the head of the Wean Clan, made of the Boar Race, while the other was Yobiru, the Varahan Empress.
There used to be more in the past, but were all killed by a group named the Mystic Seven. Virala and Inala were part of this group.
The digestion capacity of a Boar King was one of the strongest, so powerful that the moment Yoribu consumed Raefrag, her stomach acids began to rapidly digest the latter’s regenerating self.
And this created an influx of Prana and nutrients that began to steadily increase her strength. The reason a Boar King was feared was its voracious capacity which was directly inherited from its predecessor, the Empyrean Boar King.
No Mystic Grade existence could be birthed on Sumatra. Not just Sumatra, the natural limit of birth was Expert Gold Grade. A cultivator literally has to break the limits to be called a Mystic Grade existence
The Boar Kings were created in response to that by diluting the prowess of the Empyrean Boar King to the extent they dropped to the Expert Gold Grade and could now be birthed naturally.
Their voracious capabilities allowed a Boar King to consume beings of high nutrition and mature faster in response.
In the past, the Empyrean Tusks and Empyrean Snappers were hunted for the very same reason.
Before consuming Raefrag, Yoribu was at the Body Stage.
In a mere few seconds after consuming him, she reached the peak of the Body Stage. And then…
2-Life Stage!
Her strength seemed to climb without issues the harder she digested Raefrag. Of course, the other party offered resistance.
Boom!
Suddenly, Yoribu’s stomach expanded like a squiggling pile of worms, appearing on the verge of tearing apart before she desperately poured psychokinesis to strengthen the stomach walls.
Fierce waves appeared as Yoribu rolled around on the cloud platform covering the Dralh Sea, struggling to keep things under control.
“Surround her!” Bnapbnap roared, “Ensure no one disturbs her!”
Yoribu was in a critical state, and even the slightest interference could mess up her focus and result in Raefrag’s victory. Ideally, they could have waited longer, but their side was already dropping in numbers heavily.
They had reached a point where they were tiring out. And hence, the moment Yoribu barely reached a level where she could endure digesting Raefrag while resisting his influence, she took action.
“Kuhhh…hahaha!” Suddenly, a set of lips formed on her bulging stomach that curled up and burst into laughter, stunning everyone at the scene who had formed a defensive circle around Yoiribu.
“You think you can resist me?” Raefrag’s voice resounded as Yoribu’s struggles only got more intense in response. However, Yoribu persisted, using all the Prana she gathered from digesting Raefrag to use on psychokinesis to suppress the latter.
And steadily, as her strength increased, she became better in suppressing Raefrag, looking like it was just a matter of time before the scales would fully tip in her favour.
She truly would have won the tussle, as long as there had been no external interference. However, there was indeed one.
Six flashes of grey took action from the crumbling Adobe of the Mystics. Five of them were rushing to the scene while engaged with a crimson streak while the last grey line made a beeline towards Yoribu.
Swoosh!
The power of Inhibition Dome manifested to a range of 1.8 kilometres, dissipating the lightning plasma sphere made by Bnapbnap and the other four Settlement Leaders.
“STOP!” Bnapbnap roared futilely, “STOP THE BASTARD!”
Both Cooter Clansmen and Mystic Humans at the scene bombarded the grey streak with their attacks. But all the grey streak did in response was to ignore the attacks, prioritizing on speed instead.
It quickly dropped down the Life Stages, leaving behind corpses of itself. However, adding to its speed of movement, its rapid recovery rates, and the suddenness in which it took action, the grey streak, while with two intact bodies in its stack, reached its destination.
And then, the grey streak plunged into Yoribu’s bulging stomach.
“Oh…dear.” Bnapbnap despaired.
Atop Prata City, an experienced Mystic Human observed the situation at play and sighed grandly. It was Biljro, one of the oldest Mystic Humans. Staring at the sky, he huffed once, struggling to accept defeat.
He eyed the surviving Mystic Humans nearby, ’These kids don’t seem to realise what’s at stake here.’
’Those are…’ His eyes grew moist as he eyed Yoribu, ’Those are the end times!’
“Fellow Mystic Humans…” Without hesitation, he yelled and vanished from the location, “Run!”
Twenty kilometres away, he appeared as a Parute Tree and wilted spontaneously after to appear at a spot another twenty kilometres away. In two seconds, he had distanced himself by 40 kilometres from Prata City.
Not for a moment did he bother to pause and witness the progress of the situation. Biljro was no longer concerned with his people reacting to his words. No, those that had any semblance of wits about themselves and an active sense of danger would have fled.
From the corner of his eye, he noticed a few more Parute Trees appearing and wilting. These Parute Trees were only able to move a kilometre every second, while those with more expertise could reach up to a few kilometres every second.
At their respective speeds, they fled the scene. A moment’s sigh later, and Biljro dropped his affiliation to the Mystic Human Council, ’I need to gather my parents immediately and as quickly as possible, we’ll flee to the Brimgan Empire.’
’They will give us refuge, since Mystic Humans are a strategic resource!’ His mind already whirred up a plan as he quickly fled the place.
Only after fleeing beyond 200 kilometres did he think of pausing for a moment, only to stare back. He regretted wasting even a second, as a second aurora had appeared in the skies, rapidly expanding to mildly take on the appearance of a peacock, which seemed to be intent on devouring the aurora released by Virala.
“Fuck it!” Biljro turned around and continued fleeing, stopping a few more seconds later to notice a submarine rapidly moving towards Prata City, “Have you gone fucking mad?”
Ejecting himself out of the submarine, Torq shouted at Biljro, “Did she consume…”
“Two!” Biljro shouted, not even bothering to wait and see if the other party understood what he had said.
“Heavens…” Torq sighed in defeat, eyed the changes happening to the aurora in the sky, for a moment feeling angry towards the budding peacock appearance. “My anger serves no purpose.”
“A mere ant is what I am at the moment.” He returned to the submarine and began an escape, “We’ve lost, Mother.”
“Let’s flee!”
