Chapter 109: Inertial Waves Spirit Pool
Chapter 109: Inertial Waves Spirit Pool
The Silver Grade Spirit Pool was ready, however, without the aid of an Empyrean Snapper, it didn’t seem possible to swap his existing Spirit Pool. And even among the Empyrean Snappers, only those ranked in the single digits in terms of strength had the expertise necessary to pull off this feat.
“Normally, I would have been helpless for the switch. But,” Torq chuckled in confidence, “I used the Narlakk genetics into the mixture exactly for this purpose!”
“Prepare it first!” At his words, the Narlakk Pet used about 3500 Parute Fruits and a bunch of medicines to begin refining an Elixir. It was a pretty quick process, barely requiring an hour’s worth of homogenous mixing following extraction of essence from the Parute Fruits.
Influence Easing Elixir!
The stronger the Grade of a mineral or Spirit Pool, the stronger its respective Nature’s influence on the body, mind, and soul of the cultivator. It will keep influencing them until they break down eventually.
There were many ways to combat it, as long as the influence was within tolerable levels for a cultivator. One of these ways was the Influence Easing Elixir. Consuming it doesn’t increase one’s Prana capacity.
It only raises the endurance level of the Spirit Container for a while, in which duration, the cultivator is able to endure higher levels of influence, which makes it possible for them to tank their existing influence.
By raising their enduring capacity, it allows the cultivators to be less affected by influence.
Influence Easing Elixir was a Low-Grade Elixir, and had a market value anywhere between 4500 Parute Fruits to even 8000 Parute Fruits. The price varied based on demand. However, it didn’t matter much, since the Cooter Clan never sells it to an external party.
Placing the vial on the rim of the Gentle Coral tub, Torq cleaned its insides first by removing the damaged storage lantern. It could still be used to produce more of the Silver Grade Spirit Pool he had managed to create.
Once the inside was clear, he took a seat within and condensed a whitish fluid.
Primary Nature–Gentle Coral Dominance!
He basically emptied his Prana to create as much Gentle Coral as possible. As it hovered before him, the Narlakk Pet moved the Silver Grade Spirit Pool through it once, allowing faint traces of Gentle Coral’s characteristics to latch onto the Narlakk part of the genetic components in the Spirit Pool.
It was just a temporary measure, taken without polluting the Spirit Pool. And the moment this happened, Torq grabbed exactly 100 Parute Fruits and stuffed them in his mouth.
His Prana capacity was currently at 90 units. Consuming 100 Parute Fruits built his Spirit Container by one more unit’s worth.
It had all been completed before the Gentle Coral could harden. Torq consumed the Spirit Pool, which the Narlakk was controlling using its psychokinesis to force an interaction with his stomach.
It was like gold plating, but done at a molecular level. As the Spirit Pool was digested by his stomach, the blood vessels carried its components into his Spirit Container and began to deposit it to fill up the spot meant to carry the 91st unit of Prana.
The process actually proceeded smoothly, as the Spirit Container–including the Prana it controlled–was fooled into thinking this was the Gentle Coral Spirit Pool. Thereby, it was allowed to be built into the Spirit Pool.
Thanks to the Gentle Coral cover, this Silver Grade Spirit Pool didn’t trigger a rejection reaction from the Gentle Coral forming the rest of the Spirit Container.
Trouble began once it was fully built, as immediately in response, the Spirit Container experienced intense, unbearable pressure.
The Spirit Container was like a skyscraper, with every unit of Prana being a floor. The higher the floor, the greater the strain on the structure. And as the floors increase, the foundation’s stability gets tested again and again.
The higher the floor, and even the simplest wobbles get magnified until the tower collapses. That’s why a strong enough foundation is necessary.
In Torq’s case, his tower was built using straws until the 90th floor. And suddenly, the 91st floor appeared, fully made using cast iron. It basically collapsed the tower.
“NOW!” At his shout, the Narlakk Pet began attacking him internally using Mystic Mist Art, targeting him with such specifics that strain appeared precisely at the designated spots of his Spirit Container.
Floor 90 was destroyed first. As the cast-iron floor 91 fell towards the floor 89, the Narlakk Pet partially damaged floor 89, resulting in its collapse serving as a cushion for the cast-iron floor’s fall.
This way, the weight of the fall wasn’t transferred to the rest of the building. And during the time of the freefall, the rest of the tower didn’t have to bear the load from the cast-iron floor. Hence, it appeared relatively stable.
Floor 88 fell next, used as a cushion to gently land the cast-iron floor upon floor 87. Like a domino effect, the floors collapsed from the top, one after another, with the preceding tower’s collapse used as a cushion to bring down the cast-iron floor with lesser impact.
This way, the tower’s structure was maintained, while its wobbles continued to reduce in intensity as the tower’s height steadily reduced.
And soon, the cast-iron floor fell upon the first floor and shattered through it, “GRAHHH!”
Torq downed the Influence Easing Elixir as the Spirit Container struggled to adapt, for the Gentle Coral’s influence on him was intensely resisting the camouflaged invader.
The effects of the Influence Easing Elixir curbed the rampages in his body, allowing the Spirit Container to remain barely stable.
The larger it was, the more unstable it became. Conversely, at its smallest, the Spirit Container was at its stablest. That was why Torq relied on this method to result in the cast-iron floor being the only floor forming his Spirit Container.
Blood vessels popped across his body as he experienced a series of heart attacks due to the violent conflict between the native influence and the invading influence. He consumed another 100 Parute Fruits and forged a new Spirit Container right as the first floor was about to shatter from the conflict.
The new Spirit Container now stored the Spirit Pool, in an unstable state. The conflict was still ongoing as this container too was starting to shatter.
He swallowed another 100 Parute Fruits and replaced the first floor with a new Spirit Container moments before the older one broke. By now, the plating layer had already been shed off, fully revealing the Silver Grade Spirit Pool’s influence.
Torq’s body twitched as the two influences waged a war in his body, causing a series of organ failures one after another. But with three swaps, his Spirit Container began to assume the new Spirit Pool as native and Gentle Coral’s influence as invasive.
As slowly, his body’s function began to align with the new Spirit Pool, a good portion of Gentle Coral’s influence was consumed. “Last one!”
Torq consumed another 100 Parute Fruits and replaced the Spirit Container once again, for the fourth time. Now, things had stabilised, as his body fully began to consider the new Spirit Pool as native and began to properly flush out the external influence.
Gentle Coral’s influence too had been consumed for the most part. And as it was getting flushed out, Torq consumed the last 100 Parute Fruits in his reserve, just because.
He wanted a Spirit Container with a clean slate in terms of influence, and as he barely achieved it, he had become a blood mess. With a crazed expression, he roared, “I’m a genius!”
“Heal me up!” He patted the Narlakk Pet, giving it a command as he fainted, satisfied with the success of successfully integrating with his new build.
