Chapter 85: Poor People Are Just Poor People

"If you’re not satisfied, of course you can replace it. But with this ceiling height, ordinary lights wouldn’t illuminate very well."

"No need to change it. Too much trouble."

Ryan looked around and said, "So it’s just finished with fine decoration? No appliances or furniture?"

"That’s correct. Since we don’t know what the owner prefers, we don’t include those."

Abigail quickly explained.

Ryan shook his head and said, "I thought it would be move-in ready. Whatever, let’s go upstairs and take a look."

The second floor had only one room, the master bedroom. When they went upstairs and opened the door, Linda couldn’t help but let out another "Wow."

Even though it was still empty, this bedroom was at least a hundred square meters, with a walk-in closet and a separate wet/dry bathroom.

"Holy crap, this bathroom is bigger than our dorm!"

Linda even cursed out loud. Her eyes were full of stars right now.

The bathroom was even more over-the-top. Smart toilets weren’t unusual, but the size was just too much.

Near the back, there were imported shower fixtures at both high and low positions, and an enormous jacuzzi big enough for at least three people.

The most scandalous thing was that there was even a waterbed mattress. Seeing this kind of thing in adult films, it was definitely the setting for a "breast bath" scene, the kind that made your imagination run wild.

"Yes, all of these are imported fixtures. There’s also a water tower with pressurization on the roof, and water storage tanks so you don’t have to worry about outages."

The third floor had a small living room, a study, and two secondary bedrooms.

The fourth floor had guest rooms... All together, that was eight bedrooms, three living rooms, and four bathrooms, absolutely luxurious, even more lavish than so-called presidential suites.

After walking through the whole place, Ryan brought Linda, whose face was flushed with excitement, up to the fourth floor and asked with a smile, "Are you satisfied with this place?"

"This... this is way too nice. I... I can’t accept this!"

It was so luxurious that it actually made Linda a bit timid.

Abigail didn’t want to let this opportunity slip and quickly said, "The first two units at X City are our best crown jewel properties. We also have slightly cheaper villas with other layouts. You can take a look at those and think it over."

Looking out, the other villas were also very nice. Each had its own unique design, with different colors that made them clearly distinct.

Most of those were two-and-a-half or three stories. Only these two units in the whole community had four floors. Looking down from the top, it really satisfied that desire to be above everything else.

"No need."

Ryan shook his head.

Abigail thought he wasn’t buying anymore and got a bit anxious. Even though there was the five hundred dollar bonus, it was just a drop in the bucket for someone who needed money urgently.

"Mr. Ryan, please consider it a bit more. Around here, we’re the best community there is."

Abigail was so anxious she looked like she was about to cry.

There was a flicker of hesitation in her eyes. She looked at Ryan, then at Linda, bit her silver teeth lightly, and said softly, "How about... you take another look?"

The Abigail everyone remembered was flamboyant and dazzling, a stunning beauty as bright as the moon. No one had ever seen her look so pitiful before.

Linda’s breathing quickened, and she said in a trembling soft voice, "Ryan, let’s think it over a bit more. No need to rush. How about we come back tomorrow?"

Since she said that, Ryan nodded and shrugged. "Whatever you say."

At that, Abigail’s face turned pale instantly, thinking it was completely over.

After all, it was a eight million dollar top tier luxury villa. Not to mention students, even wealthy people would have to grit their teeth just to scrape together the down payment.

She must have set her expectations too high... Abigail felt completely drained, the world spinning around her as if she was about to faint.

Linda was a top-tier schemer, and her mind was working overtime right now. If he gave her such a mansion, it would indeed be so surprising that it felt like a dream.

But if she agreed right away, it would make her look too vain and materialistic. She was worried it would ruin the impression she’d made on Ryan.

"Ryan, Anna doesn’t know about this yet. I’m afraid she might get upset. I think we should go back and tell her first."

Linda said obediently.

Her mind was already racing. She knew that with this rich young man’s status, he was probably looking for someone from a similar background.

Becoming the main wife was probably out of the question. Anna had figured that out, which was why she was so charming and didn’t get jealous at all.

She needed to learn from Anna too. Although she was her biggest rival, other women were bound to show up.

So on the surface, she had to maintain a good relationship with her. First, they could work together to get more benefits. Second, getting too jealous would leave a bad impression on Ryan.

Staying on good terms with Anna would actually help her come across as well-behaved and sensible.

"You’re so thoughtful."

Ryan nodded and turned to Abigail. "Senior Abigail, we’ll come back tomorrow then. No need to refund that money. It’d be too much trouble to pay it again tomorrow."

"Okay!"

Abigail’s eyes lit up, and hope was rekindled in her heart.

"Goodbye, you two!"

Abigail walked them all the way to the sales office entrance and watched them leave on the electric scooter.

Noticing that Tina looked disdainful but was also sneaking glances, Linda shot her a provocative look and directly wrapped her arms around Ryan’s waist.

"I told you, it was a waste of time. They’re just here for the free air conditioning."

Kai also laughed loudly. "Can’t afford it, but at least they can get a look. Poor people have to face reality. This is the kind of mansion they’ll never be able to buy in their whole lives."

Tina was a bit dazed. She suddenly grabbed Abigail and asked, "Senior Abigail, why hasn’t he gotten a refund yet?"

Normally, if you didn’t want to buy, you’d present the receipt and get the deposit back. Then Abigail could go to finance to claim her five hundred dollar bonus.

Kai also realized something was off and immediately said with a dismissive laugh, "He’s just a poor guy who borrowed so much money. He probably has no idea what he’s doing. Just wait, he’ll be rushing back in a panic to get a refund soon."

Abigail shook her head and said, "They said they’re coming back tomorrow. It would be too much trouble to refund and pay again."

Kai’s disdain grew even stronger when he heard that. "They’re addicted to free water, huh? Seriously, what’s wrong with them? Is it worth pretending like this?"

"Poor people are just poor people, no brains at all. They take these little advantages but don’t even calculate how much interest they’re paying on all that borrowed money."
