Crystal White was already feeling guilty from being questioned like this; now Ethan Barnes’s gaze was like a knife sharply cutting across her face, and she felt as if all her dark thoughts had been exposed.

Originally, she thought she held all the cards, but she didn’t expect that both Celeste Linden and he were tough to deal with. Each was more wise and skillful than the other, flipping the situation and pinning her down completely.

Deep jealousy and resentment flashed through Crystal White’s eyes. Since she couldn’t have it, she would destroy it so no one else could either.

"Boss, how could you be so heartless to me? Are you saying... all those words you told me before were just lies?" Crystal White cried.

Ethan Barnes glanced at her, "What did I say to you?"

"You told me... told me..."

Crystal White’s eyes were red from crying, and because she was overly emotional, she closed her eyes and fainted immediately.

"Dianna!" Dianna’s mother ran over and hugged Crystal White tightly. "Dianna, what’s wrong with you? Don’t scare Mom. You’re our only daughter; if anything happens to you, Dad and Mom can’t carry on living."

Dianna’s father glared fiercely at Ethan Barnes and Celeste Linden, "This isn’t a matter of just saying what you want. I will definitely take this higher up and make you give my daughter Dianna an explanation. My daughter Dianna is still an innocent young lady!"

Dianna’s father picked up Crystal White and left with everyone else.

Everyone felt a bit worried and started speaking up.

"Boss, I think this family, Crystal White’s family, is going to stick to you. If Crystal White falsely accuses you, this matter will become troublesome."

"I didn’t expect Crystal White to be this kind of person. Initially, we quite liked her and sympathized with her, but now it seems she was pretending all along, aiming for you, boss."

Ethan Barnes glanced at the direction where Crystal White’s family disappeared, without showing any expression. He didn’t care what this family thought; he only cared about what Celeste Linden was thinking now, whether she would continue to believe in him.

"Alright, I’ll handle this. You all can leave now."

"Okay, boss, we’re leaving."

Everyone knew their boss and his wife had things to discuss, so they sensibly left.

As soon as everyone left, Ethan Barnes closed the door. He returned to Celeste Linden’s side, reached out for her small hand, "Celeste, I..."

Hmph.

Celeste Linden snorted heavily and directly shook off his large hand.

Ethan Barnes was breaking out in a cold sweat; he realized that he had feared nothing in his entire life, yet was afraid of this little woman, Celeste Linden. He wouldn’t have dared to imagine this before.

She was probably sent by heaven to torment him.

"Celeste, what’s wrong? Are you angry?" Ethan Barnes said with a smile. "Earlier, you said you believed in me; why did you change your face as soon as everyone left?"

Celeste Linden ignored him, turning straight to enter the kitchen to start making dinner; Danielle would definitely be hungry when she returned.

"In front of outsiders, I was giving you face. Now that everyone’s gone, what needs to be done will be done. You’re the one who attracted the troublesome admirers; you handle it yourself."

Ethan Barnes watched her tie the floral apron; soon, the kitchen was filled with fragrant and warm cooking smells, and her beautiful, radiant face shone even more under the lights.

He stepped forward and hugged her soft waist from behind, pressing his handsome face against her ear, and kissed her small earlobe, "I’m really innocent. What kind of admirers could I attract here? You know my body; I’m not capable of anything with Crystal White."

Ethan Barnes initially resisted the elder’s claim that he was incapable, but now he was grateful to that old man.
