Chapter 1103: A Tense Conversation

  • Next Chapter

Jason’s reunion with his girls had been the most emotional moment for Jason in a long time. Although Jason had only been inside that cloud for four to five days, to Gina and everyone else, it had been a month since he vanished, so it was obvious that they were all very worried about him.

After Jason sent the Celestial of Death back to its prison, the world had removed its protective shield around Minori and both Gina and Hesabeth had come to meet Jason and Riyala on Earth.

Gina had been in tears, and Hesabeth made Jason promise her that he would never try something so reckless again! Jason had apologised for being gone so long, and he promised to be more careful next time. Jason had already told them what his plan was for later, and although they were a little worried that Jason was going to be entering back into the Celestial Cloud, they were now okay with it since they now knew that Jason had a way to survive against the cloud.

Hesabeth and Riyala had both returned to their worlds earlier today since they had a lot of work to do to make sure the people that migrated across worlds were safely returned, and so it was just Gina and Jason here with the rest of the family. As Gina approached, Jason started to realise just how much he had missed in the few days he spent in that cloud. Gina was almost six months pregnant now, and she was showing very well. It wouldn’t be long before the baby got here.

’If I had spent just a little more time in there, would I have missed the birth of my own baby?’

This thought haunted Jason for a long time, but Jason simply got rid of it! Jason had made it back, and that was all that mattered! Jason put his hand out as Gina got closer, and Gina took it with a smile and allowed him to pull her into his chest for a kiss. At the side, Valeria watched them with a curious frown before she turned around and waved.

"I’ll leave you two alone."

Valeria began to leave without another word, and Jason hummed in response as he watched her go. Jason didn’t know if he was just being paranoid, but it seemed Valeria hadn’t really warmed up to any of his girls that much. Whenever Jason and Valeria were speaking, and one of Jason’s girls came around, Valeria would always find some excuse to leave the conversation. But Jason didn’t really see it as anything serious, so he ignored Valeria after a few seconds and turned to look at Gina.

Gina smiled at Jason and spoke to him through their mental link.

’I don’t think she likes me.’

Jason huffed in amusement and shook his head.

’No, that’s not it. She’s just really shy around new people. Besides, what’s not to love about you? You’re the most lovable person I know.’

Gina rolled her eyes at Jason’s cheeky response, and Gina just shook her head. Gina knew that Valeria was avoiding her for some reason, but Gina decided not to let it bother her for now. What Gina didn’t know was that Jason was partially right. Valeria was really shy around new people, and since Gina and the other girls only came back to Earth a few days ago, Valeria still didn’t know how to relate to them. But there were other reasons for Valeria’s actions as well that neither Jason nor Gina could ever guess, and that wouldn’t be revealed until much later.

Gina turned to look out on the wide field, and a few long moments of silence stretched between the two lovers before Gina said:

"Agiel woke up a while ago. She and I spoke about everything that happened."

Jason nodded calmly without saying anything in response, and he waited for Gina to keep talking. Gina looked like she was organising her thoughts, and it took a while before she spoke again.

"Is she really your soul mate?"

There was a crack in Gina’s voice, almost like Gina did not want to ask this question, but she wouldn’t be comfortable until she knew the answer. Jason finally turned to Gina, and he saw the curious worry on her face. Jason wondered what exactly was going through Gina’s mind at that moment. The way Gina was looking at Jason told him that Gina had been overthinking something insane. Jason spoke up calmly.

"I don’t know how Agiel defined the whole soulmate thing to you. But for me, there’s nothing different about my relationships. You’re still the most important person in my life, Gina. If I have to abandon everything in the world for the sake of one person, then I’d choose you every single time."

Gina looked up into Jason’s serious gaze, and there was an intense surge of relief that passed through Gina’s body when she saw that Jason was telling the truth! Gina hadn’t really known how to bring up this topic earlier because somewhere in the back of her mind, the idea of ’soulmate’ had already made Gina think that Jason and Agiel were some sort of eternal lovers and the bond would make it so that Jason falls in love with Agiel more than anyone else. That was what Gina had always seen in the movies and books that she read, so she didn’t know of any other way to think about it!

But from what Jason just said, it was obvious that the Soul Mate bond wasn’t as strong as they usually show it in the movies. Gina was glad that this was the case, because if Agiel had done something that manipulated Jason’s mind into not loving Gina anymore, then Gina would’ve killed Agiel for it!

"So what exactly did you two talk about?"

Jason asked this curiously after he was sure Gina understood what his relationship with Agiel was, and Gina smiled slightly as she recalled it. Gina knew that she had already gone through this sort of conversation multiple times before, but no matter how many times it happened, Gina didn’t think she could ever get used to someone begging her to let them join her and Jason’s relationship.

When Gina had gone to see Agiel earlier, Agiel had been sitting up in bed and eating a meal that Stella brought to her. Since Agiel hadn’t eaten anything in multiple days, she had grown thin and weak, but as a superhuman, Agiel’s physique was already starting to improve after a few hours of rest, and it wouldn’t take long before she was back on her feet. Agiel had been in the middle of taking a bite of the pancake in front of her when she saw Gina enter the room and close the door behind her, and Gina could almost feel the tension in the room rise immediately! Agiel swallowed discreetly while putting her pancake back down, and Gina smiled and shook her head.

"There’s no need to be so tense. I just want to talk. Do you mind?"

Gina pointed to a chair at the side, and Agiel shook her head and asked Gina to please sit. Gina nodded thankfully, and once she was seated, she spoke to Agiel in a serious voice.

"I know it’s been a long few days for you, but I’d appreciate it if you could spare me some of your time. I want to know exactly what happened between you and Jason, both on Jadar and within the Celestial Cloud. I can tell that you two are much closer than before, so I need to know."
