Chapter 1095: Are You Here To Trick Me?

  • Next Chapter

The pressure in the garden suddenly rose to an unbelievable level, and Agiel immediately fell to her knees. Jason felt his entire body straining from the pressure, and Jason immediately raised his hand and spoke up!

"Wait! We’re not here to trick you! What others are you talking about? I just want to talk."

Jason knew that he had to calm the boy down somehow, and Jason was willing to talk to the Celestial to avoid getting killed here. The pressure from the Celestial finally began to reduce once Jason said this, and the boy spoke up with an annoyed tone.

’I’ve been looking for somebody to play with me~ The last time, someone put me to sleep because they didn’t want to play. That wasn’t very nice. If you try to put me to sleep, I’ll kill you.’

Jason blinked in shock, and Jason seemed to realise immediately that the boy was actually serious! This wasn’t right! There was no way this was right! Did this mean that the Celestial of Death feared by everyone across the Primordial Expanse was really just a little boy who was going around looking for someone to play with? Did he not know the sheer amount of damage that his mere presence had done to the world around him!? And if he was telling the truth, then didn’t that mean the people who put him to sleep were the people who carried out the Celestial Hunt from before? That had to be it! Everyone thought that the Celestial Hunt was some grand battle against evil, but the boy saw it as people tricking him and putting him to sleep! He didn’t even think he was doing anything wrong!

Jason let out a calm breath as he tried his best to relax, and he held Agiel close as he spoke to the Celestial.

"Do you know what you are?"

The Celestial was a little surprised by this question. This is the first time he would be talking to another person in millions of years, so no one had ever asked him that before! The little boy shrugged as he floated around.

’I don’t care about all that. I just want to play with somebody. Everyone I’ve met doesn’t want to play with me. They just fall down. It’s boring. You’re the first people I’ve spoken to in a while, so let’s play!’

The pressure was starting to build again as the young boy’s anger grew! It was just like a child throwing a tantrum, and Jason realised that there was no way he could reason with a creature like this! Jason glanced to the side to check the [Level of Understanding] gauge on the system, and Jason noticed that it had reduced to 45%. Jason was confused about this creature right now, and he didn’t understand its mindset or how its power worked. So Jason couldn’t use [Erasure of Origin] on it. Jason needed to talk to the child until he had a better understanding of it, and if you want to talk to a child, you had to speak their language.

’We need to learn how he thinks. We don’t understand him well enough yet.’

Jason sent this to Agiel through their mental link, and Agiel understood what Jason was trying to say immediately. Agiel knew that the only reason they were able to destroy the [Mind Corruption] before was because of how many times Jason had interacted with it and how well he understood it, so if they wanted to destroy the Celestial of Death, then they would interact with it for longer. It would’ve been a lot easier to use [Erasure of Origin] if the Celestial of Death was a nonsentient being, but the fact that it was such a complicated creature only made things more difficult for them!

Once Agiel accepted their new mission, Jason finally turned to the Celestial of Death, and he nodded to him with a forced smile.

"Alright, what game do you want to play?"

The boy smiled wider than ever before, and he let out a joyous cry as he floated around!

’Yay~ You’re gonna play with me~!’

Jason watched the boy celebrating with a small frown on his face, and at the back of Jason’s mind, Jason recorded everything he could about this creature so he would eventually be able to use [Erasure of Origin].

....

[The World of Voltax]

Outside in the real world, the entire Primordial Expanse seemed to be holding its breath as they waited for any news about the Celestial of Death. The Overlord of the ninth domain, Kalum, along with his trusted advisors and soldiers, was still waiting in Voltax for Jason and Agiel to reappear! Before Jason and Agiel had entered the Celestial Cloud, Jason left a few of his subordinates behind with Kalum as a way to know how things were going. Jason had told Kalum that as long as these subordinates were still alive, Kalum could be sure that Jason was also alive, and Kalum had kept those subordinates with him everywhere he went since then.

But the subordinates turned out to not be necessary after a while. For the first few days after Jason and Agiel went into the Celestial Cloud, the cloud had continued moving as normal, and people wondered if things were going well or not. But on the fourth day after they went in, the Celestial Cloud actually stopped its advance, and there was a massive celebration across the entire world as people realised that Jason and Agiel had made some progress! The Cloud had not turned around yet, but at least it was no longer travelling across the world, and it would no longer kill anyone!

At this point, Kalum had mostly finished the evacuation of all the worlds in the Celestial’s path, so he was glad that Jason and Agiel had bought them time to finally get everyone out! The people all waited and hoped to see Jason and Agiel soon, but as time passed, they began to get worried when there was no news at all! Jason and Agiel had been gone for two weeks at this point, and people were beginning to worry that the two of them had gotten lost inside the Celestial Cloud!

Kalum kept the other Overlords up to date about what was happening with the Celestial Cloud during those weeks, and surprisingly, Hesabeth did not look worried at all about the lack of news from Jason. Hesabeth told the council that she was absolutely certain that her lover was still alive and they did not need to worry about his well-being since he would be back soon! This had relieved some of the worry from Kalum’s shoulders, and so Kalum just continued to wait for any news from the Celestial Cloud.

It was around this time that a strange bit of news began to spread across the Primordial Expanse. A world known as Turnal somewhere in the Eastern Corridor of the First Domain had vanished. It was such a strange and completely unexpected piece of news, and by the time it reached Kalum in the Ninth Domain, it had already been a few days since it occurred, so there was nothing Kalum could do about it. But the news had been very popular because no one had seen something like this happen before. There had been cases of worlds being destroyed, but for an entire world to vanish without a trace was insane!

After this, there were two other worlds that vanished, first the world of Baera and then the world of Filas. They were both in the First Domain as well, and at this time the council finally called a meeting to talk about what was happening and what they should do about it.
