Chapter 907: Crimson Dragon Dominates
Chapter 907: Crimson Dragon Dominates
A chilling killing intent and a hint of madness flashed in Lord Grimheart’s eyes which made Sanya’s pupils constrict and made her go into her combat form.
Lord Grimheart stared at for a moment, his killing intent intensifying. Right when it appeared he would attack her, he sighed and gaze became calm as still water, “You’ll regret this.”
He then sat down and watched as Max activated the Crimson Dragon Spell.
Sanya stared at him, not lowering her guard because she was afraid he wanted just that and the moment she did so, he would attack Max.
However, even as Max finished casting the Crimson Dragon Spell and sent it flying toward Isolde, he showed no signs of doing anything. So, she relaxed a little and took her seat, but just as she did so, her pupils constricted because…
Whoosh!
One of the two following Lord Grimheart had suddenly burst into action. Before she could stop her, she had entered the arena, bypassing the formations as if they weren’t there at all and sent a palm strike toward the partially visible, crimson serpent, the manifestation of the Crimson Dragon Spell.
“How dare you?!”
…
’Hm?’ Isolde’s expression darkened when she felt a hint of threat from the spell Max was casting. Without caring about damaging her mana core or mana veins, she madly pulled on her mana and forcefully accelerated her spell-cast, finishing it a moment before Max did and hurled the Viper’s Fang toward him.
Whis!
The wind whistled and the space rippled as Viper’s Fang flew towards Max, carrying a savage aura of corruption and destruction.
Max’s expression turned grim and even though he hadn’t activated the Crimson Dragon Spell fully, he sent it flying upwards toward the incoming wooden spike.
…Roar!
A faint sound that seemed the mixture of a roar and hiss sounded as the indistinct spell serpent flapped its wings and took off.
A split second later, both collided but there was no dramatic explosion because at the last moment, the serpent opened its mouth and… swallowed the wooden spike before continuing its flight toward Isolde who stood frozen in the air.
’Die Bitch!’ Max roared inwardly, a cold murderous glint flashing in his bloodshot eyes.
He was already full of rage due to her targeting his woman, and seeing she was somehow connected to the sealed devil in the minor realm, he wasn’t going to hold back even if her father was here.
However…
As the spell serpent flew towards Isolde, Max’s complexion turned pale white and his pupils dilated because the moment he had the snake swallow the spell wooden spike, almost seventy percent of the fire mana and law fluctuations in the serpent were destroyed.
To keep the spell active, he had to pour more mana into it and permeate it with law fluctuations once again. Even then, the spell serpent didn’t stabilize and was on the verge of exploding, but he couldn’t let it happen before it reached Isolde’s vicinity, so he burned his mental power without regard for anything else and forcefully stabilized the spell serpent.
A split second later, it reached Isolde and he activated the final phase of the Crimson Dragon Spell. The fire mana rapidly compressed inside the serpent along with the law fluctuations.
’Explode!’ He shouted in his mind, keeping his eyes focused on Isolde despite his swaying vision.
Right then, however, he saw a figure suddenly appear before Isolde and slapped the spell serpent that was on the verge of exploding.
Bang!
The sound of an explosion sounded, but it was very low and muffled unlike one would have expected from the culmination of a Tier-8 Magic Spell, even if it wasn’t cast at its full potential due to Max’s realm being too low.
Seeing the figure hovering before Isolde, Max’s expression darkened. He wanted to say something and see the figure’s face so he could seek it out later for this transgression against him, but his vision blanked out and he fell unconscious. The last thing he noticed was the figure raising its hand and launching an attack at him.
…
After an undetermined amount of time, the darkness slowly receded and Max regained consciousness.
The first thing he felt was… Pain, extreme pain.
The second thing he noticed was that he was alive. The figure had failed to kill him. Though it was not unexpected because he knew since someone had broken the rules of a Life and Death battle, from what he knew about them after their short interaction, Valerie and Sanya wouldn’t just sit back and watch.
Well, pain wasn’t unexpected either as he had received a beating from Isolde and had been reckless in using the Crimson Dragon Spell.
“You awake, Milord?” He heard a familiar voice.
Opening his eyes, he saw a young man in white robes walk into the room he was lying in. This man was the one who had shown him the way to his cave residence on the Violet Peak.
“Yeah. Thanks for looking after me.” Max said while sitting up.
The young man shook his head, “I’m your servant, so it’s only expected of me, Milord. No need to thank me.”
“Oh? Grand Elder assigned you to me?” He asked and the young man nodded.
“You awake, Disciple Max?” Right then, another familiar voice sounded and the grey-haired Elder, Elder Milo, entered the room.
“Yes, Elder. Thanks for your care.” Max said.
“Haha, I didn’t do anything. No need to thank me.” Elder Milo laughed, then said, “Good job back there. You almost killed that girl.”
Max just smiled in response.
Elder Milo sighed, “Too bad she was saved.”
Max’s eyes flashed and he asked, “Who it was that interfered, Elder?”
“Mm?” Elder Milo looked at him, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes when he saw the glint of concealed rage in his eyes. Then, he smiled, “The one who interfered was an Elder of the Inner hall, Inner Hall Master’s subordinate. But you don’t need to trouble yourself over her because Grand Elder has already punished her.”
“Grand Elder Rowan had to get involved?” Max was surprised. He didn’t think it would come to that with Sanya there. Unless…
“Yes.” Elder Milo said, his expression turning sombre, “Lord Grimheart turned out to be more troublesome than we initially thought…”
