Chapter 836 - Inner World's Representative

“Would I be allowed to stay in the Secondary Sector? What would I have to do if I accept?” Kyle asked.

“Assuming you accept, you would receive one of our Communicators, and you would need to register with the Contrast Empire. You would have to come to one of our offices and finalize the registration there. If the registration is successful, you would receive 500 additional years in the Secondary Sector,” the representative transmitted.

“Okay, there goes that plan,” Kyle thought. “If I go to the Contrast Empire, they will immediately see through my true identity.”

“500 years isn’t enough,” Kyle answered. “I need at least 2,000 years, if not more.”

The representative furrowed his brows. “You are already the overlord of this Secondary Sector. At most, you should need 100 or 200 years. Giving you 500 years as an overlord is already more than necessary. Why would you need so much time?”

“Because I’m a Fulfilled Crusher,” Kyle transmitted. “I still don’t have a Level Five Complex Law. Condensing it takes a while.”

“You can also condense your Complex Law in the Contrast Empire. I don’t see why you would need the Secondary Sector,” the representative answered.

“I know about the actual purpose of the Secondary Sector and why so many big Organizations send their people there,” Kyle answered. “I also want that, if you know what I mean. However, I can’t get that while still being a Fulfilled Crusher. I need to become a Unique Crusher first.”

The representative raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t expected that Kyle knew about the Legendary Realm. After all, he wasn’t a member of a big Organization.

“In my opinion,” the representative transmitted, “giving you the opportunity to advance further would be in the Contrast Empire’s best interest, but I can’t make these decisions. I have been given directives, and I need to fulfill them. The only thing I can tell you is that you should talk to your new superior, assuming you accept. They might allow you to stay longer.”

Kyle remained silent for some seconds. “You cannot promise me that I can stay here until I advance… a bit more, correct?” Kyle asked, not directly talking about the Legendary Realm.

“No, I can’t,” the representative transmitted with a sigh. “I can only say that it would be the smart thing to do and that the Contrast Empire wouldn’t be this powerful if it weren’t smart. The decision is not in my hands.”

“Then, I’m sorry, but I have to decline,” Kyle answered.

“Are you sure this is a wise decision?” the representative asked.

“No, but I don’t have another choice,” Kyle transmitted. “I can’t hand my life to someone if they can’t promise me that they have my best interest at heart.”

“Very well, I will forward your words to my higher-ups,” the representative transmitted before stepping back.

Kyle took a deep breath. “Well, I’ve offended the Contrast Empire now. I might have done things they don’t like, but Azure Comet has never directly gone against the Contrast Empire. I mean, yeah, I’ve destroyed Dawnlight, but they came for me first.”

Kyle looked at the other three. “I have to make the most of my conversation with the other three. The Contrast Empire is already my enemy. I can’t make even more.”

“Our conversation is over,” the representative from the Contrast Empire said before looking at the representative from Inner World. “You’re next.”

The representative of Inner World nodded before stepping forward.

“I represent Inner World,” he transmitted to Kyle. “We are offering to recruit you as an Outer Disciple. You will receive access to our Formation Array designs, and if you learn enough about them, you will become an Inner Disciple. Inner World believes that, with your talent, becoming an Inner Disciple will only be a formality.”

“I’m sorry, but I know how Outer Disciples are treated,” Kyle transmitted. “I could join any Higher Primary Organization as a Core Disciple, and I would benefit more.”

“The secrets of Inner World are only open to members of Inner World,” the representative transmitted. “You may receive more resources in other Organizations, but you will never uncover the true secrets of Formation Arrays.”

“I understand that,” Kyle transmitted, “and I actually am interested in Inner World. It’s just not the right thing for me at this very moment. If I can find an opportunity after my value has increased even more, I might consider joining Inner World. With more value, I can also ask for more.”

“Additionally,” Kyle added, “I know that there is a bit of a rift between Inner World and me. I’ve never antagonized Inner World before, but five of your Disciples have attacked me without any provocation recently. I’m afraid that, if I join Inner World, some of their acquaintances will make trouble for me.”

“Your worries are unfounded,” the representative answered. “Inner World has strict rules. The five Disciples you have killed have been retroactively condemned. By killing them, you have given us a favor.”

Kyle blinked a couple of times. “Could you explain?”

“They have leaked the secrets of Inner World to an outsider,” he answered. “This breaks our first and most important rule. Breaking this rule means execution.”

“And if I had died?” Kyle asked.

“Then, they wouldn’t have broken the rules since they haven’t leaked our secrets,” the representative answered. “You may take risks as a member of Inner World, but if you fail, it’s on you. If it works out, you benefit.”

“So, it’s fine if I drive drunk as long as I don’t cause an accident?” Kyle thought. “I thought he said that they have strict rules. This sounds pretty libertarian to me.”

“I’m sorry, but I won’t join Inner World at this moment,” Kyle answered. “However, I would like to mend my rift with Inner World, if possible. I do realize that Inner World probably has something else to say to me, and I’m willing to listen.”

The representative looked at Kyle neutrally.

“Whatever is secret should remain secret,” he said. “Whatever you have learned must stay unused and secret. Inner World is not willing to offend the Contrast Empire for a Crusher that knows things he shouldn’t know.”

“Inner World can act like nothing has happened since it doesn’t know what’s inside your head, but if something appears in reality, it can’t be denied. In order to keep Inner World’s designs secret, Inner World would be forced to do everything in its power to stop anyone from spreading them. This includes the death of one or more Immortals.”

Kyle took a deep breath. Sure enough, that was quite overbearing.

“I swear, if I ever knowingly spread Inner World’s designs or use them recklessly without Inner World’s permission, I will lose all of my Karmic Luck and condense a True Sin Aura. I hope Inner World accepts this oath,” Kyle transmitted.

The representative looked at Kyle.

A moment later, his aura became more relaxed. “As a representative of Inner World, I accept this oath. Whatever enmity you and Inner World might have had is now gone.”

Kyle sighed.

“Thank you. Before you leave, I have another question,” Kyle transmitted.

“Yes?” the representative asked.

“Is there any way in which I can gain Inner World’s support or neutrality while I am in the Secondary Sector?” Kyle asked.
