Strongest Hammer God
Chapter 1214: Good Hunt!
Green teleported to the Descension Plaza and descended Dimensions to the Main Dimension. After arriving there, he teleported to a seemingly random location on the Connecting Planet and waited for several seconds. After a while, he sighed and continued waiting.
'This should be enough,' Kyle thought. 'By acting like this, everyone will believe that I've asked someone to help me. They saw Green urgently descending Dimensions. If any unaffiliated Immortals paid attention to me, they would think that I came here with a purpose.'
'I'm glad the Minor Immortal took the bait. Things would have become much riskier if he hadn't.'
Naturally, Kyle had warned the Minor Immortal on purpose. He wanted to make the Minor Immortal unsure. What if he left with only two Avatars and somehow lost? In that case, his last Avatar might die as well without being able to help in the battle.
If the last Avatar had stayed in the Excursion Lobby, everyone would have noticed if he suddenly exploded. But now, all three of his Avatars would arrive. By battling inside the cave, Kyle could also minimize the risk of random Immortals watching them.
If no one were there to see what was happening, there would be no certainty. Kyle could have received some help. Some natural disaster might have killed the Minor Immortal. Maybe Kyle had somehow managed to get his hand on an advanced and forbidden Last Light?
Even more, Extended Family might not even realize that the Minor Immortal had died, and even if they did, would they believe that Kyle had killed the Minor Immortal? He was just a Beginner Immortal. Sure, some people have seen Kyle fighting against that other team. There was a distant possibility that he could maybe kill a Minor Immortal Avatar, but the Minor Immortal would arrive with all three of his Avatars. There was no way Kyle could kill all three Avatars by himself.
Inside the hole, Red and Blue created several Formation Arrays. These Formation Arrays mainly blocked Divine Consciousnesses and other senses.
Then, the two waited.
Meanwhile, the members of Team Wooly Sheep and Team Ankylosaurus were waiting several million kilometers away from the hole.
The Leader took a deep breath. She still wasn't comfortable with leaving Kyle alone, but she hadn't had a choice. She needed to protect her team.
Suddenly, the members noticed three powerful figures rapidly approaching them.
It was the Minor Immortal from Extended Family.
The members just waited until the Minor Immortal arrived. Moments later, the Minor Immortal stopped and looked at the two teams.
"Team Wooly Sheep has not offended Extended Family and won't oppose them," Spring of Joy transmitted to the Minor Immortal. "Our alliance agreement specifically mentions that Team Wooly Sheep will not support Team Ankylosaurus if they enter a conflict with Extended Family."
The Minor Immortal glanced at the Leader of Team Wooly Sheep. "Can you prove this claim?"
"I swear that we will not attack you within the next 24 hours unless you antagonize us first," the Leader transmitted.
The Minor Immortal nodded in confirmation. His target had never been Team Wooly Sheep, but he had seen that they were awfully close with Team Ankylosaurus. He wanted to make sure that he wouldn't have to fight another team.
Then, he turned to Sebastian and Abyssal Depths. "Has your Leader fled?" he asked coldly.
"Quite the opposite," Sebastian answered. "We have fled. He is waiting for you in our mine."
"He is waiting for me?" the Minor Immortal asked in a neutral tone, one of his eyebrows raised in skepticism.
"Correct," Sebastian answered. "While I have also killed one of your members, I've done so only in self-defense. Additionally, the Avatar I have killed has attacked me before I have attacked them. Our leader is the person who has killed three Avatars, two of which were uninvolved in the battle."
When Abyssal Depths heard Sebastian's words, she had to suppress a surge of rage and disgust. This was Kyle's friend? The way Sebastian had sold him out was cowardly and traitorous.
"Your words fit the reports we have received," the Minor Immortal transmitted. "Team Ankylosaurus is our target, but we only desire to make things right. A limited debt doesn't require limitless repayment. We will go to your leader for repayment. However, as a member of his team, a small part of the blame falls on your shoulders."
"But if the repayment of your leader is sufficient, we won't have to come to you."
Sebastian nodded. "I understand."
Then, the Minor Immortal looked at Abyssal Depths. "The same counts for you."
Abyssal Depths kept her reactions in check. "Noted."
"Will you get involved when I go after your leader?" he asked calmly.
Abyssal Depths took a deep breath. "I promise, I will not attack you within the next 24 hours unless you antagonize us first."
The Minor Immortal wasn't completely satisfied with the promise. After all, a promise was not an oath. However, he would let it slide this time. Abyssal Depths wasn't a danger anyway.
"Then, I would ask you to stay here for a couple of minutes," he transmitted. "I will be returning shortly, and we can finally put this entire situation behind us."
Team Wooly Sheep and Abyssal Depths nodded wordlessly.
"I hope the hunt is successful," Sebastian transmitted with a smile.
The others glanced at Sebastian with a bit of disgust.
"Thank you," the Minor Immortal commented before his Avatars shot towards the hole.
A couple of seconds later, Spring of Joy looked at Sebastian with a forced smile. "You are quite the opportunist, Lost Spark," she transmitted.
"Opportunist," Sebastian answered, trailing off for a moment. "Maybe I am, but I wasn't acting like one this time."
"I hope the hunt is successful?" Abyssal Depths quoted from the side in a mocking tone.
"I do," Sebastian answered. "Why? Are you not hoping that Kyle wins?"
One of Abyssal Depths' brows rose with clear skepticism. "You're saying Kyle is the hunter?" she asked flatly.
"Depends on how you view it. You might see a wolf hunting a hare, but I see a wolf running straight towards a bear trap. Is putting out a trap considered going hunting?"
Sebastian had purposefully created the metaphor to make Kyle's involvement seem more indirect than it would be. The trap could symbolize a powerful Formation Array, an external tool, or maybe even outside help.
"If that's so, why did you throw your friend to the wolves like this?" the Leader of Team Wooly Sheep asked.
"Kyle has a way to deal with the situation. We don't. If something were to happen to us, wouldn't all of Kyle's efforts be in vain?" Sebastian asked. "Sometimes, trying to help someone only makes things worse. Sometimes, the best thing you can do to help someone is to do nothing and just let them deal with it."
"He says he got this, and I trust him."
The others looked at Sebastian, who seemed surprisingly calm.
His confidence also gave them a bit of confidence. Could Kyle actually do it?
Meanwhile, the Minor Immortal noticed the Concealing Formation Arrays near the entrance of the hole. He knew that Kyle had most likely created a fortress within the hole. Based on reports, Kyle might actually be a Beginner Immortal Formation Array Master. Entering the fortress of a Formation Array Master was a bad idea.
However, there was a limit to what Formation Arrays could accomplish. In the end, Kyle was still just a Beginner Immortal. There was a limit to how much Energy he could use.
The Minor Immortal passed through the Formation Arrays without interfering with them. He didn't think that they had the power to threaten him.
That was true.
