Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 1181: Undercover

"Have you had experiences with Formation Arrays before?"

In front of the Abyss Hammer Team was an older woman with black hair. She wore a short red dress and high heels, which was a bit unusual. Most Immortals didn't wear shoes or simply wore some simple and unassuming shoes. When Immortals were part of an Organization, they wore shoes that were part of the outfit.

Yet, the Cult was a bit different. The Cult didn't have a uniform but a color, and even that was just a suggestion. The philosophy of the Cult was unashamed freedom. They could follow their God, but they could also leave. Only power mattered to the Cult.

"I've had some experiences with Formation Arrays in the Compression Realm," Black answered.

The woman in front of Kyle frowned with some annoyance. "And you think that makes you good enough to ask for a place in the FAD?"

"If I had to start right now, no, I wouldn't have the ability to contribute to the Formation Array Division," Black answered. "However, I've heard that you're doing screenings to evaluate someone's potential. The screening also acts as training, as far as I know."

Naturally, Kyle had come here to learn about Formation Arrays. He had talked with that one man from the Cult for a while, and the two of them had come to an agreement.

Kyle didn't want to fully commit to the Cult, and the man also didn't want Kyle to become a true member. At the same time, Kyle also didn't want to just ask for resources.

As it stood right now, Kyle agreed with the goals of this mysterious Organization, but he wanted to keep his options open. From what he had seen, this mysterious Organization was filled with schemers and manipulators. They had helped him before, but they also had their own goals. What if they had lied about their plan? What if they wanted to do something else?

By accepting all kinds of resources, Kyle would feel like he owed them. In a way, he already owed them. After all, they had been helping him here and there. Yet, if he started to owe them even more, he would feel compelled to help them. If they had lied to him, he would still follow his own path, but he would feel bad about betraying them, which he wanted to avoid.

So, they had agreed to send Kyle to the FAD, the Formation Array Division. Members of the Cult could choose how they wanted to contribute, but within limits. The Cult considered their members' needs, but they wouldn't hand out things for free.

Loyalty was a form of currency. If someone swore their loyalty to the Cult, the Cult would give them something in return, but the Cult wouldn't automatically deny everyone who wasn't loyal. Metaphorically, one could say that the Cult didn't exclusively hire people. They also accepted contractors or freelancers.

When the man had told Kyle that he would send him to the FAD to get evaluated, he had also asked something of Kyle in return. Technically, his mysterious Organization didn't need anything Kyle could provide currently, but to make it easier for Kyle to repay them, he had given him a job.

Several years ago, the Cult had gained a significant influx of new members. These members had come from outside the Cosmos, and they had caused quite a stir when they arrived.

Many of these members had an incredible level of Energy Density. In fact, there were over ten new members who had as much Energy as the most powerful Demigods in the Cosmos. When they arrived, they had immediately attacked the Immortal Dimension. Unfortunately, or fortunately, they had been defeated.

While their Energy Densities were almost unmatched, most of their abilities and powers had become unusable. They had grown up in a different Cosmos, and different Cosmoses had different realities and Laws. The reality of this Cosmos did not support all of the Laws from the other Cosmos. Without the support of the Cosmos' reality, the foreign abilities and Laws couldn't manifest.

Even Imposing Laws couldn't ignore this rule. The only reason why Imposing Laws even worked was that the rules allowed Imposing Laws to work.

Many of these new members had been the most powerful existences in their previous Cosmos, but after coming here, they realized that they were not as powerful anymore.

While the complexities of the Laws were about the same in both Cosmoses, the existence of Imposing Laws and Complex Laws drastically changed the power dynamic. Metaphorically, their old Cosmos had materials that were just as hard as the materials here. The difference was that this Cosmos made swords with these materials, while the other Cosmos just used the hard materials as bricks.

Yet, the biggest issue had been the concept of Momentum. Being partially made of Death had allowed them to bypass several problematic powers in their old Cosmos, but Momentum worked on sentience. As long as they could think, they would be affected. Even more, since they hadn't grown up in this Cosmos, their Momentum hadn't been tempered or even created yet.

After being pushed back, they were forced to learn about this new Cosmos. They had to comprehend the Laws and work on regaining their powers by changing them to fit this Cosmos' reality.

The man's mysterious Organization used to have quite some sway in the Cult by infiltrating different parts, but when these new members appeared, things had changed.

New divisions, strongholds, parties, and armies had been created. Infiltrating these new teams would take a long time. Not only were they made up almost exclusively of members from the other Cosmos, but there were also many of them.

The influx of new members had been monstrous. In fact, with the addition of these new members, the number of Cult members had quintupled!

The Cult used to be dangerous because their strongest members could rival the strongest Demigods. In terms of member count, they had only been able to rival one of the Higher Supreme Organizations.

Yet, with these new members, the Cult could rival the member count of half of the Higher Supreme Organizations.

The man's mysterious Organization didn't want this war to end. If the Cult won, their God would win. If the Cult lost, the growth of the Cosmos would shoot through the roof, and with time, the owner of the Cosmos would win.

The mysterious Organization had kept both sides in balance. If the Cosmos had united to launch one brutal assault, the Cult would have almost definitely been annihilated. The mysterious Organization had stopped the unification.

But now, the Cult was actually powerful enough to contend with the Cosmos. If a final battle occurred, the winner wouldn't be clear. Naturally, the Higher Supreme Organizations knew that the Cult was rapidly growing more powerful, which was why they were trying to launch combined offensives. It became harder and harder to stop them from uniting.

At the same time, the Cult was becoming more aggressive. They launched more attacks, which pushed the different Organizations closer to each other, which could lead to a final battle.

As repayment for the resources Kyle was about to get, his job would be to sabotage these new factions inside the Cult. They needed to minimize the factions they didn't control.

Kyle had agreed. He would join the FAD of one of these factions, and if he ever got the opportunity, he would weaken them.

The woman looked at Kyle with some annoyance. "Fine, you can join the screening, but don't expect to get very far."
