Chapter 1154: Planet Chains

Almost all the Seekers in the surrounding billions of kilometers noticed the flow of Energy change as soon as Kyle began his breakthrough. The amount of Energy an Immortal needed was unreal. When Swamp Dragon had advanced, he had affected all of Ayuvar with his breakthrough, and Ayuvar had a width and length of ten trillion kilometers.

As the storm intensified, Kyle noticed that the Primordial Forces were distorting around him. This was the sign of a Dimensional Shift. The Cosmos had realized that an Immortal was being born, and it pushed Kyle towards the Immortal Dimension. There was more Energy there, and he would be protected from any sort of attacker.

Well, more precisely, it pushed Red's team to the Immortal Dimension. Black's team just had to deal with staying in the Hell Dimension. Black's team would still get enough Energy to advance, but they wouldn't get any protection.

Kyle watched all of the Energy entering his existence. For now, everything was just gathering in a single spot on his chest. Nothing magical had happened yet.

Reality around Red's team warped, and moments later, their surroundings changed. Just now, they had been in the middle of nowhere, but now, they were on the surface of a barren Planet.

Kyle's Divine Consciousness stretched into the distance, and what he saw made him gasp.

The Immortal Dimension... It looked so...

Alien.

Red's team was on a Planet, but the Planet didn't even really look like a Planet. It looked like part of a strange chain of beads. One side of the Planet was almost completely fused to a different Planet. It looked like someone had taken two iron beads, heated one side of each, and pressed them together.

Several gigantic mountains had formed around the places where the two Planets had fused. These mountains were formed by the excess matter of the two Planets. Planets in the Immortal Dimension could appear in three places.

They could appear in empty space. They could overlap with another Planet. They could partially overlap with a different Planet.

When Planets appeared in empty space, the chaotic gravitational forces around them pulled them to one of the Planets. After some time, the new Planet would collide with an existing Planet, and if they had similar sizes, they would form these gigantic mountains and form a Planet Chain.

If they overlapped with another Planet during their creation, both Planets would form a new, bigger Planet. If their Elemental Properties were similar, they could fuse completely. If their Elemental Properties were different, they would form a two-layered Planet. The bigger Planet would form a layer around the smaller Planet.

If the new Planet partially overlapped with an older Planet, the overlapping parts would fuse, while the other parts would remain pure. This kind of formation would also create a Planet Chain, but it didn't create these mountains of excess matter around their borders.

After countless years of new Planets appearing in the Immortal Dimension, a unique picture had formed.

Red's team sat on a Planet of impossible size. This thing was almost as big as Ayuvar! Kyle couldn't sense the entire thing with his Divine Consciousness! The next Planet in the Planet Chain wasn't nearly as big as this one. Kyle could even see a second Planet that was connected to the first one. Naturally, bigger Planets could connect to several different Planet Chains.

As Kyle's Divine Consciousness spread across the Immortal Dimension, he could see several Planet Chains. Most of the Planet Chains connected with each other in different places, while some of them just stretched through an opening.

While looking at the Immortal Dimension, Kyle felt like the image was familiar.

'It looks like tissue or fibers,' he thought. 'It looks like someone grabbed some meat and stretched it.'

At that point, Kyle felt like his perception was warping. He tried to focus on his surroundings, but it became harder as more time passed.

'Don't get distracted now! Remember the plan!'

Red quickly activated his Communicator and looked at his coordinates. As long as he was connected to the network, he could always track his own location.

'My coordinates have shifted, as expected,' Kyle thought as he remembered his new coordinates.

Due to the immense density of Planets in the Immortal Dimension, there was a high chance that a new Immortal would ascend from a place that was empty in the Main Dimension but occupied in the Immortal Dimension.

Planets in the Immortal Dimension could be exceptionally big and durable. If an Immortal were to appear in the middle of such a Planet, they might find it difficult to get to the surface. If someone's starting location during ascension overlapped with an occupied spot in the target Dimension, their position would be changed to the closest point that directly connected with the empty space between Planets. If it simply locked onto the closest unoccupied space, someone could just appear within an underground cave, and things would be just as bad as appearing inside a Planet.

After remembering his coordinates, Kyle's Divine Consciousness locked onto his True Hero Aura.

An instant later, reality around Red's team warped once again. Kyle was ascending yet another Dimension.

This was Kyle's plan. All Dimensions were connected. The spatial coordinates of every Dimension were identical. If one ascended or descended Dimensions, one's spatial coordinates would stay the same, unless they tried to ascend or descend to an occupied spot.

Since he couldn't get to the Protected City inside the Immortal Dimension without having to enter battle, he could just travel to its coordinates in a different Dimension.

The Main Dimension didn't work since he wasn't allowed to be there anymore. He also wasn't allowed to be in the Beast Dimension. The Mortal Dimension was even more off-limits. The Elemental Dimension was unnecessarily dangerous. The Hell Dimension had members of the Cult.

That left the Hero Dimension.

Fighting in the Hero Dimension was prohibited by all powers. Even the Karmic Laws hated it when Seekers killed each other in the Hero Dimension. Purposefully killing anyone in the Hero Dimension would immediately lead to the generation of a True Sin Aura.

As Red's team ascended to the Hero Dimension, Kyle's perception warped even more. The white fog of bending reality seemed to vanish into the background as faceless silhouettes appeared in front of Kyle.

The silhouettes didn't make sense to Kyle, but as they grew clearer with time, a mixed feeling of anxiety, sadness, anger, and familiarity appeared inside of him.

The silhouettes turned into shapes, and the shapes turned into scenes.

Kyle felt the need to breathe return as he smelled a scent he hadn't remembered for years.

The scent of someone smoking a cigarette beside him.

He saw the back of a young woman, who was leaning out of a window. The back of this woman woke ancient memories inside Kyle.

"Oh no! Boooom!"

The voice of a toddler spread throughout the cluttered apartment before the high-pitched sound of shattering glass echoed.

The young woman's body jerked for a moment before she turned around, rage in her eyes. Her face was gaunt and had several pustules. There were gaps between her yellowed teeth, and even though she seemed young, there were also a couple of wrinkles that seemed unnatural.

When she saw the broken bong on the floor and the scared toddler with his toy firetruck beside it, her face turned into a grimace of violent rage.

The woman flicked her still-burning cigarette out of the window.

The toddler's face whitened.

The woman stormed towards the toddler and grabbed his hair, pushing his head towards the shards until there were just ten centimeters between them and the toddler's eyes.

"You did this!"

"This is your doing!"

"Look at what you've done!"

"Do you see it?! You broke it!"

"This is what you do!"

"You break things!"

"You only break things!"

"Always!"

"This is all you're good for!"

Kyle realized what this was.

This was his earliest memory.

The first memory of his life, and the first memory of his mother.
