Chapter 1153: Looking Back

Red's team was in the middle of nowhere. They were essentially just in a random spot between different Planets. This was the place where Kyle would become an Immortal.

According to Abyssal Depths, this spot was well-outside the range of the Protector's perception. She didn't know why Kyle didn't want to advance near the Protected City, but she also knew that it wasn't her place to ask. They were just loose acquaintances. Keeping secrets was normal.

Sebastian had already become an Immortal. Compared to Kyle, he didn't need to keep his advancement secret. Sure, he still had more Energy than he should have since he had two Weapon Avatars as well, but his advancement wouldn't be too strange. At most, the Lord would become a bit interested and look at him. Luckily, Sebastian's aura wasn't unnatural.

Sebastian's aura definitely wasn't weak. After all, he had more Energy than he should have due to his Elemental. On top of that, he had Weapon Avatars, which allowed him to use even more Energy during a battle. In terms of absolute power, Sebastian would be able to fight the weakest Beginner Immortals as a New Immortal. This put him amongst the top 10% of New Immortals. His aura reflected his power. The Lord would just believe Sebastian to be a pretty talented New Immortal.

When Sebastian had advanced, nothing out of the ordinary had happened. The Lord might have noticed, but they hadn't reached out to him.

Things would be very different if Kyle were to advance inside the Protected City.

While Red's team waited, Black's team scouted their surroundings. Black's team was within the Hell Dimension, and they hadn't seen a single other living being since they had gotten there. Although they also hadn't really searched for anyone. Most of the time, they had just been inside a random Planet, surrounded by Isolation Formation Arrays.

When Black's team returned to their Formation Arrays, Red took a deep breath.

'Everything's in place,' Kyle thought as Red retrieved a Grade Nine Energy Stone. To become Immortal, one needed to consume one Grade Nine Energy Stone or a thousand Grade Eight Energy Stones.

'I don't think Black's team need their own set of Energy Stones. Would suck if they did.'

Red looked at the Energy Stone for a while.

This was it.

This was the moment.

Kyle still remembered the time he had come to the Supreme World for the first time. He had been the most powerful existence within the Tertiary World, but as soon as he had arrived, he had been a nobody.

A Transcendent barely counted as a Seeker. Transcendents were truly at the very bottom of actual Seekers. After all, Mortals weren't even Seekers.

He remembered meeting the three Primals on Orchis. They had been exceptionally powerful to Kyle. He also remembered meeting the Wolf Mistress on the neighboring Planet. She had been even more powerful. A False Sage. Someone in the Seventh Realm.

He remembered meeting Lady Arrowstrife. Her power had eclipsed Wolf Mistress' power by several magnitudes. Lady Arrowstrife had seemed invincible. After all, she had been an Ascendant. Someone in the Ninth Realm. Kyle had only been in the Fourth Realm. He had advanced three times, and if he wanted to become an Ascendant, he would need to advance another five times. How old and immensely powerful must Lady Arrowstrife have been?!

And now?

Now, as long as Lady Arrowstrife hadn't become an Immortal, there was no way that she would be stronger than him. There was absolutely no doubt in Kyle's mind...

There was not a single Ascendant in existence who could even hope to resist him. As an Ascendant, he had won against Fox, who was probably within the top one percent of New Immortals. After all, which New Immortal had such powerful Complex Laws?

As Kyle thought about his past, he also remembered the Countess of Twilight and the Chief Overseer. Both of them had been Immortals. He didn't know how powerful they had been, but they couldn't have been too powerful. After all, the Red Witch had annihilated both of them, and she had been an Immortal as well. There was a chance that Kyle would be as powerful as they were after his breakthrough.

The majority of powerful existences Kyle had met along his journey had been left in the dust by him. Now, he was about to reach the level of these unimaginably powerful Immortals.

He had come so far.

Yet, as Kyle thought about all of these people, he also thought of others.

The Lord on Orchis. His power was still unimaginable to the current Kyle.

The person who had overseen the Star Seeking. This had also been a powerful Lord.

The man who had freed him from that one Planet, the same one who had officiated the meeting that decided Ayuvar's fate. Most likely, he was a Demigod. This was the only Demigod Kyle had ever seen, as far as he knew.

However, beyond this all-powerful Demigod was an even greater existence whom Kyle had met.

The Will of Death.

'If there's a Will of Death, there's probably also a Will of Energy. Every living being is made of Energy or of a mix of Energy and Death. If one person can control all of Energy or all of Death...'

'There's probably no beyond. That's most likely the limit.'

Red focused on the Energy Stone. 'Today, I will join the world of the strongest. Aside from the Gods and the Wills, everyone else is in this world that I'm about to step into.'

'The Universe Realm...'

'Until now, the name of every Realm has done a good job describing its respective Realm. Transcendents are no longer Mortals. Primals focus on the body like beasts. In the Compression Realm, you compress Energy. In the Wisdom Fire Realm, your mind gets tempered by its fiery flames. In the Domain Realm, you master your Soul and gain access to a Domain. In the Fusion Realm, your Aspects fuse.'

'So, in the Universe Realm, will I create a Universe? Is that how it works? Or is this like the Transcendent Realm, and it simply symbolizes that I'm not someone who can freely travel through the universe?'

'In fact, I barely know anything about this breakthrough. I knew a lot about all of the other breakthroughs, but I've never been told about what happens in this one.'

'Is it different from the other breakthroughs? Sebastian said that the advancement took a while and was quite special. He also said that there's a reason why nobody really talks about their advancements. He even called his advancement magical and beautiful, but he also said that my advancement might be different.'

'Abyssal Depths added that her advancement felt melancholic and profound.'

Red took one last deep breath as he closed his eyes.

Moments later, his eyes shot open, and the Grade Nine Energy Stone vanished into his body.

All the Energy entered Red's body...

But nothing happened.

Red sighed. 'Of course...'

'Yeah, well, if I get the privilege of being two people, I also gotta pay rent for two people.'

Red took out a second Grade Nine Energy Stone and absorbed it. This time, something actually happened.

BANG!

Kyle felt like something inside of him broke, and at the same time, storms of Energy gathered around Red's team and Black's team.

The advancement had begun.

He would finally become an Immortal!
