'We're voting on Swamp Dragon's fate as well?' Kyle thought, with a bit of surprise.

"Any suggestions?" the man asked.

"Death," Kyle said.

"Death," the man said as the word appeared in the middle of the table.

Swamp Dragon wasn't surprised.

Then, nobody said anything for a while.

Kyle's eyes narrowed as he looked at Swamp Dragon. 'He could easily say freedom or Ascension, but he's not saying anything. Why?'

"Ascension."

Kyle and Sebastian looked at Fox with furrowed brows.

Fox just looked at Swamp Dragon with a conflicted expression. Swamp Dragon had tried to kill her several times, but he had also saved her. Even though she had traded one prison for another, she believed that this new prison was better than her old one.

"Ascension," the man said as the word appeared in the middle of the table.

Yet, almost immediately, a third option appeared.

"Eternal Overseer."

"Where did this come from?" Melanie asked with furrowed brows.

"The world has made a suggestion," the man said. "It seems like the world believes that Swamp Dragon should forever remain as its Overseer."

"How does this world-thing even work?" Melanie asked with some annoyance.

"It's an agreement," the man said. "Do you believe the votes and suggestions of the world are inaccurate? Do you believe the world would have voted differently during the last vote? Do you not believe that the world would want Swamp Dragon as its Overseer?"

Melanie just looked at the table. "Not really. It seems to fit what the world would want, but I still don't know how this works."

Sebastian also seemed a bit confused.

"It's reality's emotions," Kyle commented. "You can only sense them after you've undergone your Fusion. It's difficult to explain. Up to now, I haven't seen any inaccuracies."

In the beginning, Kyle hadn't been sure how the world could contribute to the conversation, but after some time, he had realized how this entire thing with the world worked.

Melanie looked at Sebastian with a raised brow, who just shrugged in return.

"Alright," Melanie said.

"I believe these are all suggestions," the man said. "Then, let's cast our votes."

Kyle groaned. 'And once again, I feel like I could change the outcome, but that might also just be an illusion. The last vote has opened the gate to a lot of fuckery. There can be so much overthinking that nobody might get what they want.'

'Once again, I will just vote with honesty.'

"Everyone has voted," the man said. "Let's look at the results."

Kyle's vote: +2 death, +1 Overseer, 0 Ascension.

Swamp Dragon's vote: 0 death, +2 Overseer, +1 Ascension.

Sebastian's and Melanie's votes: +2 death, 0 Overseer, +1 Ascension.

The man's vote: +1 death, +2 Overseer, 0 Ascension.

The world's vote: +2 death, +4 Overseer, 0 Ascension.

Fox's vote: +1 death, 0 Overseer, +2 Ascension.

The vote for eternal Overseer had won with nine points, death being the closest with eight points.

'Yeah, I actually couldn't have made a difference,' Kyle thought. 'Even if I had voted for ascension for my secondary vote, it would be a tie, and there are more primary votes on Ascension.'

Kyle looked at the others when the results were published.

'And sure enough, there was fuckery.'

Fox wanted Swamp Dragon to ascend, but when she saw how close death was behind the Overseer option, she became terrified. She knew that the Overseer vote would be the favorite, which was why she had used death as a secondary vote, and it had almost backfired!

Sebastian just sighed. Naturally, he also wanted Swamp Dragon dead, and he had voted for Ascension as his secondary vote to weaken the Overseer vote.

The man's secondary vote was also surprising. Did he honestly believe that Swamp Dragon deserved death, or did he simply miscalculate? He could've easily voted for Ascension without changing the outcome.

The vote of the world seemed confusing at first glance, but if one actually thought about its history with Swamp Dragon, it made sense. Swamp Dragon would obviously be an amazing Overseer due to his character, but he had caused the last apocalypse. The world wanted Swamp Dragon as an Overseer since it would benefit a lot from that, but if it couldn't have that, it would kill Swamp Dragon for what he had done.

'I'm not sure why Swamp Dragon voted like this,' Kyle thought. 'Does he truly want to be an Overseer for all of eternity, or did he expect that death would win if he had put his primary vote on Ascension?'

Kyle sighed. 'Too many mind games. This is like fucking poker.'

"The result is out," the man said. "Swamp Dragon will be Ayuvar's Overseer for all of eternity."

Kyle, Swamp Dragon, and Sebastian didn't say anything.

"And how will you make sure that he won't hand his position to the next Immortal?" Melanie asked.

"He won't," Kyle said with a sigh as he leaned back in his chair.

Melanie raised a brow. She had expected that Kyle would be the first to complain since he hated Swamp Dragon the most.

"He won't," Sebastian transmitted to Melanie. "There is no way that he will ascend."

"Is it because of his low Battle-Strength?" Melanie asked.

"Nah," Sebastian answered. "He just won't."

"How can you be sure?" Melanie asked with furrowed brows.

"Because he's Swamp Dragon," Sebastian answered.

Melanie still seemed skeptical, but since no one else had asked for any assurances, she decided to drop the matter.

Kyle groaned quietly to himself. 'I wanted two people to die, and both of them will survive.'

Then, he sighed. 'Well, things are not so bad. I can ascend. Sebastian is alive. The old Overseer is in an eternal prison of redemption. Even more, if I find her, I can still kill her.'

Kyle glanced at Swamp Dragon. 'I hate to say it, but he will be an amazing Overseer. I still want him dead, but if I can't get that, the next best thing is that I never have to see his face again, which has been accomplished.'

'Also, if I become strong enough, I might be able to force my way into Ayuvar and take my revenge.'

Kyle imagined going to Ayuvar after millions of millions of years...

A prosperous world with happy inhabitants and powerful Seekers...

He imagined himself looking at the world and looking at Swamp Dragon.

'Oh, for fuck's sake! I'm not a good guy! I destroyed an entire Tertiary World! Why am I suddenly so conflicted about killing him?!'

Swamp Dragon didn't look at Kyle.

'Why does he have to be like that? Why can't shit just be simple?! He's a bad fucking guy, but he's also a good fucking guy! He's fucked me over so many times, but he's also the reason why I'm still alive!'

"Next vote," the man said. "What happens to Kyle?"

"Huh?" Kyle uttered as he looked at the table.

Within a moment, an option appeared on the table, sent by the world.

Ascension.

Kyle was strong. Almost every existence in Ayuvar owed him a Karmic Debt for stopping Fox. The world only wanted the best for him.

Naturally, Kyle and Sebastian would also vote for his Ascension.

Swamp Dragon would also vote for him without a doubt, making the vote already secure.

Most likely, the man would also vote for Kyle's Ascension.

Everyone turned to look at Fox.

"Death," she said.

The option appeared.

No more options appeared.

"Since there are only two options, we will only have one vote," the man said.

The vote took place.

Six to one for Ascension.

There was no surprise.

The man's fate and Sebastian's fate were not put up for a vote.

That only left one last thing...

"Last vote," the man said.

"As the Overseer, Swamp Dragon will decide Ayuvar's internal matters, but that still leaves the external matters."

"From the perspective of the Supreme World..."

"What happens to Ayuvar?"
