STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 1158: The Second Recruitment Opportunity
Special Base (4th Zone)
Elder Sandra was in her office, busy going through reports. A Beast Taming Force in the 3rd zone had shown interest in recruiting Beast Tamers from here.
They were going to send their representatives at any time, but refused to specify the date. If they did, they would be the second beast-taming team to arrive.
Sandra was also keeping tabs on the events taking place in City A. She had received the latest report that Tier-8 Beast Tamers had eliminated the Tier-8 Corrupted Beasts.
No Tier-8 beasts had crossed the border, and it was quiet for now. The news brought her a sigh of relief.
She thought that the special base’s Beast Tamers would be returning soon.
If everyone returned before the second representative’s arrival, they could participate in the recruitment process as well.
But Elder Sandra was disturbed by something else. The City Governors of City A had yet to declare the battle over.
They hadn’t released any statement, which was causing confusion. The lack of a statement meant the battle was still ongoing.
The tension in the wilderness was not over. Whatever was happening right now was a temporary ceasefire. The fight could resume at any point.
With these thoughts running freely in her mind, she lost focus on her work. She immediately called Elder John to her office.
It didn’t take long for Elder John to arrive. When he stepped inside, he immediately faced Elder Sandra behind the desk.
He nodded to her before sitting in a chair.
"Head, what is it?" John asked.
He could see the worry on her face. She was disturbed by something.
"Did you follow the developments in City A?" Sandra asked. "They have not released any statement yet," she added quickly.
John heard that and said, "I was worried about the same thing. The situation is still ongoing. I think the City Governors are expecting something."
Hearing that, Sandra raised her eyebrows. She knew about the situation in the City A wilderness.
A Tier-9 Beast was terrorizing City A, but that particular beast had not been caught yet. She looked toward Elder John.
She asked, "Is this about the Tier-9 beast?"
Elder John nodded. His gaze was firm and serious. Whatever was happening, it was not good for their special base’s Beast Tamers.
Both of them were also worried about Jeremy Night. They had not heard anything from the young man yet.
"Send a message to the Special Base Beast Tamers. They should return to the special base for the recruitment process. The next representative might arrive at any time," Sandra said.
Hearing that, Elder John nodded. He understood the seriousness of the matter. They could not control what was happening inside City A.
But they had a bigger responsibility at the special base.
John then thought of something and asked, "Elder, if you don’t mind, can you tell me which force is coming?"
Elder Sandra replied, "It’s an organization called Valtrex. They deal with commission-based work, which mostly involves hunting corrupted beasts."
"You must have heard of them. All of their members are S-Grade Beast Tamers," she added.
A quick gleam appeared in John’s eyes. How could he forget that organization? Some of his former friends were in it.
Unfortunately, their current relationship was not that good. He could not ask for any personal favors.
However, Elder Sandra assumed John was thinking about Jeremy Night.
She said, "We had better give up hope on this organization. Their members are S-Grade Talents. They don’t say it, but they only recruit S-Grades."
"If not for them being from the 3rd zone, I wouldn’t have decided to call back the members from City A."
"Since they are from the 3rd zone, we have to give them their due respect," she added.
John was dumbfounded. He knew the situation better than her, but he didn’t plan on telling her about it.
"I’m going to report to the city officials and the Manager of the Beast Taming Association. They will inform our special base Beast Tamers," John said as he stood up.
He was ready to leave, and Elder Sandra nodded to him.
Elder John left the room, and Sandra fell back into contemplation. She knew Valtrex was coming to poach their S-Grade Talents.
She wanted the Beast Taming Organizations from the First and Second Zones to come. Unfortunately, they had yet to give any response.
All the top three zones had their own special bases as well. The strength and numbers of their special base Beast Tamers were better than those in the fourth zone.
Since the people from the 3rd zone had started coming, they might have already recruited the Beast Tamers from the 3rd zone.
Now they were looking for the cream of the crop from the 4th zone’s special base. Sandra shook her head before diving back into her work.
...
Wilderness (City A)
Jeremy Night was now exploring the other end of the inner land. He had been to the other border areas, and now he was heading to the place where the beast horde had escaped yesterday.
Stella was awake in his mind. She was observing the surroundings from the mental zone itself. She had lost interest in fighting the Tier-5 beasts.
She didn’t even see Tier-6 beasts as a threat; to her, the real threats were Tier-7 and Tier-8 beasts.
So, whenever a Tier-5 beast made its presence known, she didn’t come out to fight. Instead, she allowed Jeremy Night to take action.
Post-noon,
Jeremy Night sensed a bug-type insect beast. Upon sensing it, he paused his footsteps and asked Stella in his mind to pay attention.
As far as he knew, insect beasts were never alone. They usually traveled in swarms.
If a single bug beast appeared, he would take action. If it was a trap, he wouldn’t touch it.
He had experience fighting insect-type beast swarms. Right now, he wanted to fight against other corrupted beasts.
He had been focusing on his close-combat techniques and hadn’t found a way to use his vibration power against an insect beast swarm.
