Chapter 1081: Part 1: A Sudden Surprise

Evening Time,

After getting ready, Jeremy Night left the room. He had read the message sent by Elder John earlier, so he was heading towards his office.

Soon, he reached the office and met with Elder John.

John was sitting behind the desk. He saw Jeremy Night and calmly observed the aura around him.

He felt that the aura had improved, but it was still at the Tier-3 Peak. He understood that the young man needed a little more push to enter the Tier-4 stage.

Both he and Elder Sandra had expected Jeremy Night to break through this time. If he had broken through, things would have become a lot easier.

Nevertheless, there was improvement. He then asked Jeremy Night to sit.

Jeremy Night sat down. He knew what Elder John was doing just now; they were expecting him to achieve a breakthrough.

But he had been busy completing the mission.

"You have set a record by becoming the only Tier-3 Beast Tamer to slay Tier-6 Corrupted beasts," John said with a smile.

"I had help," Jeremy replied.

A flicker of interest appeared in Elder John’s eyes. He thought it could be a lifeline beast, so he nodded his head in understanding.

"I think your aura has reached closer to Tier-4, but your Tier is still at the Peak Stage. You need one last push to enter Tier-4," he added.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night’s expression shifted. He said, "Yes, Elder. I’m thinking about taking a few days’ break to focus on the breakthrough."

Elder John was taken aback. He didn’t answer immediately. He spent a couple of seconds in thought before asking, "Are you sure?"

"If you take too much time, the ranking will plummet again. Then the hard-earned points from slaying Tier-6 beasts could be in vain," John said.

Jeremy heard that, but he had already made his decision.

He then said, "I want to go back to the Beast Taming Association in City A to use the golden card. I believe I can achieve something in one week of practice."

John raised his eyebrows. He could not say that the young man was wrong, because he too saw that the aura was already at its limit. It simply hadn’t crossed the final step.

Buzz!

Elder John was about to say something, but just then his device buzzed. He picked up the device and checked it.

He saw the message sent by Elder Sandra and read it.

Jeremy Night’s gaze fell on the device.

Elder John then said, "Let’s go and meet Elder Sandra. She wanted to meet you this evening."

"Okay," Jeremy replied.

Then they left the room and started heading towards the meeting hall. Elder Sandra could have met them in her office, but she usually came to the meeting hall for meetings.

While leaving the office building, Jeremy Night paid attention to his mental zone. He saw that natural energy was pouring into the beast egg.

Just as he was about to shift his attention away, he noticed something else as well. The beast egg looked brighter than before.

For a second, he paused his movements and stopped walking forward. Elder John, who was walking ahead, noticed the absence of Jeremy Night.

He was stunned and looked back. He saw Jeremy standing in the same spot and raised his eyebrows, thinking something had happened.

"Jeremy!" he called out.

Hearing that, Jeremy snapped back. He then looked towards Elder John.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

"I’m fine. It’s just that I wondered whether I could use the golden card again. Do I have to get permission from Elder Dave again?" Jeremy Night asked.

He had lied right to his face, yet internally, he was excited. He didn’t know why, but he felt he had seen thin crack lines on the surface of the beast egg.

The beast egg was noticeably brighter as well. He now knew why Stella hadn’t responded; she was busy with her process.

John raised his eyebrows. Looking at Jeremy Night, he said, "You are the sole owner of the golden card. No one in the Beast Taming Association can stop you. They are aware of your Special Base identity."

"Even if by chance there is a problem, you can always contact us," he added.

"Okay," Jeremy replied.

Then they resumed their walk. It didn’t take long for them to reach the meeting hall. Elder John asked for permission again, not knowing who else was inside.

After getting permission, both of them entered the meeting hall. Elder Sandra was sitting behind the round wooden table, seated in the main chair.

Upon seeing the duo, she asked them to sit. Like Elder John, she paid attention to Jeremy Night’s aura. She noticed a slight improvement.

But it was not the desired outcome, so a flicker of disappointment appeared in her eyes.

Sandra then turned towards Elder John and asked, "What’s going on?"

She clearly meant what had happened with the breakthrough. John then briefed her on their brief conversation.

"Do you want to go to City A again?" Sandra asked Jeremy Night.

"Yes," Jeremy replied.

He started feeling the weight of expectations. He really hadn’t minded earlier, but now that the two elders actually wanted him to break through, he began to feel the burden.

Sandra didn’t answer right away; she was also taking her time to think. She had noticed earlier that the young man had indeed shown improvement after returning from City A.

He had also completed the difficult mission. He had slain a Tier-6 beast despite being a Tier-3 Beast Tamer, which was a record in her base.

She didn’t know whether similar records had occurred in the top three zones, so she decided to give him another chance.

She said, "If you take a week, your rank might plummet again. The representatives of the organizations in the top three zones haven’t given an exact date. Otherwise, I would make a solid decision."

"If you spend a week’s time there, there is a possibility that you’ll miss the recruitment chance," she added.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night fell into contemplation. Actually, he thought participating in the recruitment was a bad idea.

The people from the top three zones would definitely inquire about his Lifeline beast.

He could not make the same excuses again.
